I love the Billionaire’s Obsession Series, and this one is no exception. Awesome job to J.S. Scott on a fantastic story. I just love Gabe and Chloe! If you have not read this book or any of the Obsession Series I strongly recommend that you do. I guarantee you will fall in love with the series just like I have.
Love reading this story. I got emotional about what was happening to Chloe. Her finance James is a monster and she needs to dump him . I kept reading to find out what happens with that relationship and if she will do just that . I recommend this book!!!!
If you are fan of the Billionaire’s by Author J S Scott you will know that her alpha males are extremely hot, passionate and caring with a touch of possessiveness to claim the women in their lives as ‘MINE’.
This is Chloe’s story and I honestly didn’t know what to expect. What I got has blew me away. Such a touching story. This book had me gripped, I was choking on the lump foaming in my throat a few times. I have always been able to connect with this Author’s books. Such a talented writer who develops the stories so well, you literally follow a journey the characters take and it’s almost as if they become part of you. You feel the emotions as they do, excitement, sadness they all play a part.
Sweet Chloe has not had an easy life. I mean considering she has millions, you’d think anything was possible for her but that’s not the case. Money isn’t everything. In Chloe’s case I think she’d give every last penny away just to have happiness in her life.
Chloe has a fiancee, James and by God I hate this man. I know hate is a strong term but I mean it with every bone in my body. He’s despicable, there is not one person on this earth who will disagree with me after reading this book.
Chloe has a wonderful family around her but she’s hidden the truth for so long, she can’t bring herself to tell them or want them involved. To say her brothers will not be happy if they ever find out what’s been happening in Chloe’s life is an understatement.
Gabe who is the best friend of Blake one of Chloe’s brothers comes to Chloe’s rescue. He has always had a thing for Chloe and wishes she would leave James. It seems a few people close to Chloe realise that he is not the man for her. God if only they knew the half of it.
Gabe offers Chloe a job on his ranch, it’s always been her dream to work with horses. She’s been through years of college, essentially putting everything on hold in her life to study hard. Gabe finds it hard to believe that Chloe is tolerating being treated in such a disgusting manner. Jesus wait till he finds out the whole truth and nothing but the truth. He will be like an atomic bomb waiting to explode its fury.
Chloe’s best friend disappears off the face of the earth, some are presuming she’s dead it’s been so long but others are holding onto hope. Nothing makes sense as to why she has just vanished. The whole Colter family, especially Zane are determined to find her.
This is a brilliant book, the story is gripping. The scenes have been dealt with sensitivity. I just don’t know where Author J S Scott is going to take me next but, I can tell you I’m extremely looking forward to her next book.
Gabe Walker finally has what he’s wanted for what seems like decades; Chloe Colter living under his roof. Granted, she’s not in his bed but she’s working for him as the vet in residence for his horse ranch. One step at a time and there’s the small problem of her being his best friend’s baby sister. Minor detail, right? Chloe has finally shed her abusive ex, has her dream job and her new boss is smokin’ hot. When she proposes having an affair with him it’s not the way he envisioned things between them occurring but he’ll take what he can get and build on it from there.
Gabe & Chloe’s Story Is About Surviving And Thriving Following Domestic Abuse.
This is the eighth book in The Billionaire’s Obsession series. Books one through five are centered around Tampa, Florida. Book six is a bridge between The Sinclairs series and this series, but it also shifts the series to Colorado. Here the series continues in Colorado with Chloe Colter and Gabriel Walker. Gabe is Blake Colter’s best friend. He first appears in book seven in the series, Billionaire Untamed – Tate Colter’s story.
The Colter family is well-known for their good looks, genius IQ’s, and billionaire status. Widow Aileen Colter runs the family’s Rocky Springs Resort. Her late husband Russell had died many years ago in an incident overseas. The oldest sibling Marcus oversees most of the Colter Corporation’s vast holdings and is often away on business. His twin Blake is a US Senator, sometimes referred to as the cowboy senator in reference to his cattle ranch. Zane works as a research doctor in biotechnology out of Denver. Chloe is the baby sister. Nearly thirty, she has just graduated from vet school and is engaged to James, whom she has dated since graduating from high school.
Chloe Colter, roughly twenty-nine, has finally returned home after years of school and residency. Chloe had finished an extra residency in equine medicine before taking a job at the clinic in town. As a billionaire, she doesn’t need to work at all, but she loves to work with animals – horses in particular. She returns home roughly a decade older, but with the same insecurities that have plagued her for her entire life. She is overweight and insecure with her body image – or fat, as James would say – and moving in with her mother hasn’t helped matters at all. She is thrilled to have time to catch up with her mother and enjoy her mom’s home cooking before her marriage to James. He is four years older and has already completed medical school and opened up a practice in town. She might have hoped that her return would have pleased him, but she cannot seem to do anything right in his eyes. Her new sister-in-law Lara has voiced concerns about the relationship, but with nothing to compare her relationship with James to, Chloe is taking her time in deciding whether or not she can go forward with her engagement.
Gabriel Walker, probably in his mid to late thirties, is a transplant to Rocky Springs. He is a Texan by birth, but he had spent many summers and vacations in Rocky Springs since his youth. His best friend is Blake Colter, a local, and their parents were friends when they were all alive. Gabe inherited his father’s cattle and oil interests which were valued in the billions. He wanted to walk in his father’s shoes and make him proud, but he had had to finally accept that he just wasn’t the man for the job. It had been hard, but he decided to sell it all and instead invest in a horse property next to Blake’s Rocky Springs ranch. He is now following his dream to breed horses, and as a billionaire he has the leisure of choosing not to make profit his driving force. He gets to breed horses for the love of it. There is one more thing that has his interest, though. Ever since Blake’s little sister Chloe returned to town, he hasn’t been able to get over just how much she has grown up – and just how much he wants to see her break up with James. She doesn’t seem happy with him, and she certainly deserves the best.
Gabriel and Chloe’s story begins with Chloe unhappily engaged to another. Chloe had always been with James and has difficulty recognizing the toxic nature o their relationship. Like so many in her situation, she makes excuses for James. Her journey is difficult and requires some soul-searching, but Gabe’s support gives her hope for a happy future. Gabe’s primary concern is seeing Chloe find happiness. He puts her needs first and they bond over a shared love of horses. There are hints at the next book in the series here. Chloe’s best friend Ellie Winters disappeared six months ago without a trace. Her brother Zane has volunteered to help in the search, but everything thus far has led to a dead end.
Gabe and Chloe’s story tackles the serious issue of domestic abuse. Chloe’s example gives hope for those in a similar situation. Though she doesn’t have many friends, she does have the support of her family once she learns to open up. Gabe and Chloe eventually get their happy ending.
This book and Tate’s, Billionaire Untamed, appear to overlap somewhat chronologically, but some details do not line up perfectly. Although Lara is described as Chloe’s sister in law throughout, Lara had begun talking to Chloe about her troubled relationship with James not long after she showed up at Rocky Springs Resort, which was the dead of winter. Granted Lara and Tate married very soon afterward, yet Lara voiced concern almost as soon as she met Chloe. Zane is described as barely into his thirties here, and he is the youngest brother in this book but Tate is the baby in Billionaire Untamed. Switching the brothers’ ages in this book makes Zane thirty-one and Chloe twenty-nine.
Gabe and Chloe’s story about surviving and thriving following domestic abuse is a reminder to all about the real dangers involved and the need to reach out for help. It is nicely written and plot-driven. The story is written in third person. The POV alternates between Gabe and Chloe, with the epilogue in Zane’s POV. I rate this book four stars.
Chloe is in a very abusive, physically and emotionally, relationship. She is finally finding her way to strength and out of it, and part of that process is accepting a new vet job at Gabe’s horse ranch. She’s known Gabe for a long time, he’s her brother Blake’s best friend, and they shared a heart stopping kiss last NYE. So when she decides to take control of her life, that includes asking Gabe to help her move on by having an affair, she’s done denying their physical attraction. But for Gabe, who has been wanting Chloe for years, it’s his dream come true. Of course they both have deeper feelings than they’re willing to admit to, which only deepen as they explore their passion. But when Chloe’s ex won’t go away quietly, it forces them to make drastic choices. Chloe’s growth and strength is tested, and in the end, Gabe and her brothers help her break free from her ex for good. Woven into the story is the mystery of her best friend, who vanished a few months ago, which seems to clearly be connected to what’s happening with Chloe. We get more clarification at the end of the book, which leads very smoothly into the next book. Looking forward to that story as well!
Wow! Chloe’s story is heart rending and made me mad as hell. I wanted to reach in and grab James and give him a taste of his own medicine. It is so sad that she was so manipulated that she didn’t feel free to seek help from her family earlier. Unfortunately women in Chloe’s situation is usually so emotionally damaged that they find it hard because they feel ashamed. Thank God for Laura’s intuition and help. She got Chole develop the strength to get out. Gabe is a soothing balm to Chloe’s aching body, heart and mind, everything she needed to continue the process she began, to make herself whole again. A fantastic, heartbreaking, suspenseful, romantic engaging story
This one was hard to deal with because of the subject matter. It was pretty heavy and I didn’t get to smile or chuckle like I normally do with this series. Gabe was dam near perfect. He was so loving an patient with Chloe and her low self esteem. For the most part I liked Chloe but I did have some issues with her and it’s not because she took James’s crap and stayed with him. It was because I found her to be awfully naive for a woman in her 30’s. I also found it unrealistic that a woman of her age had never had a boyfriend before James and got engaged to the first boyfriend she had. I also didn’t like that JS wrote anal fore playing as part of the story considering what had happened to Chloe. I felt that it was insensitive for that to be written in the story because it wasn’t necessary. Overall I still enjoyed the book. Until next time y’all happy reading.
A great story and very well written. Abuse is a tough subject to write about and do it well. Ms Scott has done just that.
The subject of abuse is only a part of this story. This is a true romance. A love story and a great one.
This one was just heart breaking and if you have abuse in your background it may be a trigger so beware. It was also very well written. Chloe is the younger sister of the Coulter brothers and she has the biggest secret of all. She has been abused by her fiance and when she cannot take it any longer, she finally leaves. Gabe Walker has always wanted Chloe but since his best friend is her older brother he has not acted on those feelings other than a kiss at New Years. Now he is a safe haven with a job opportunity for her as a vet for his horses. Now he has her in his house and let the healing begin. It is not an overnight healing and there are still lots of secrets that take a lot of time and…oh my…that twist towards the end…
Love this series!
“Billionaire Unbound ~ Chloe” (The Billionaire’s Obsession Book 8) by J.S. Scott is a terrific read. I loved Chloe and Gabe’s story. This is another fantastic addition to this series. This story is packed with romance, passion, new beginnings, billionaires, close family, entertaining and interesting characters, and more. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this wonderful series. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, family, billionaires, and series.
I think this book hits on every emotion – anger, hatred, frustration, relief, happiness, love and more.
The story keeps you engaged and waiting for James, Chloe’s ex-fiancé to get his ass kicked and for Chloe and Gabe to get their HEA.
Looking forward to the next book in the series.
Gabe is so wonder to her. Every woman needs to find their own “Gabe”. This story was romantic, sad, and lovely. Though most of it is somber, it’s ultimately heartwarming.
Once again Scott takes a horribly, ugly situation and turns it into an inspirational tale. Billionaire Unbound is a story of finding hope in a hopeless situation. Chloe finds herself caught up in a dangerous place, but love helps her break her way out. Gabe is a force, but oddly enough his alpha behavior never overpowers the nature of the story. Anyone who says that romance serves no purpose, has certainly not been reading the right stories. Words have power and J.S. Scott uses that power to make her presence known.
Beautifully Written
There are many things one learns in this book and it is wonderful to see that a woman can overcome anything she is put through as long as she as a good support system. She put in feelings exactly how a abused woman would feel and look at things. I think this might be my favorite so far.
Until Next Time…. Tabi
I really enjoyed it up until the main female character, who had been brutally abused by her previous fiancee, gave herself completely over to the main male character who enjoyed being an alpha male and rough sex. I know that this is fiction, but from experience this is not reality or romantic. When a person is abused physically or mentally or emotionally, it can take years and yeasr to get over that sort of pain. To have this character just ‘get over it’ so fast and allow the main male character to do whatever he wanted to her in bed is just not real. And it is not how the majority of abused women react. The author had a real chance to let us see a patient progression of a women who had been abused, realize she can be loved and love and heal. Instead, we saw a female character (who has been abused) just jump into bed to be someone’s lover almost right away, and I just felt angry that the author didn’t develop the female character more and allow us to see her grow into herself. I don’t know if the author has had first hand experience with abuse, but I felt as if she hasn’t. A women that has been raped does not just hop into bed with the next guy that she is interested in. She doesn’t just trust right away. And she sure as hell doesn’t let her love interest just do whatever he wants to her. Whether he is a good man or not. Just really disappointed!!! And I couldn’t finish the book or read anything else from this author.
Sexy, steamy, sensation. JS Scott is great!
This was just as great as the other billionaire stories.
I particularly love romance novels with strong heroes and heroins. This heroin was pathetically weak, especially considering she has a supportive family and tons of money. The story line wasn’t very believable.
Loved this part of the on going saga.
