Secrets can lead to heartbreak especially for those you love. I find the story to be direct and to the point of why it is important to share certain things with people you trust and trust has to be earned.

The Truth Set Them Free:
By Korkoi –
This story highlights the cost of keeping secrets, individual insecurities, lack of trust and failure to communicate. April didn’t believe in happily ever afters, because of her family history, so she made a decision to keep a secret, that had serious implications on her life and happiness. Beau’s life was thrown into chaos when April returned, but he soon realised he never stopped loving her. This heartbreaking and heartwarming story, is worth your time to read and recommend to your friends.

What Once Was Lost Is Found – Fear drives April to become lost to Charles but the loss is even greater than he knew. They each have demons to conquer. Together they are stronger. Be prepared to endure some heartbreak and tears, as well as over-the-top besties, a sassy kid, a determined dog, and quite a cast of secondary characters. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Great, great book!! April and Beau were definitely throwing the dice on their secret dating and then the inevitable happens to cause April to take off. Does Beau care enough to try to go after her and find her? What happens if he does? He had to deal with the same scenario when he was in college and that did not really work out too well. Does he step up and treat the situation as doing the right thing or does love actually take the forefront this time around? Every last character had so much depth that I could easily see a few more books spinning off of this one and them getting their own stories told!

Family…. they can be wonderful and supportive or they can be just the opposite. When betrayal brings about pride and then fear, it sets up the perfect scenario for heartbreak. It can steal your happiness.
This is exactly what happens to April. Her dad may be dead but he’s so much alive in this family’s everyday life. His betrayal of having a secret family, one that really wasn’t so secret, led to pain, destruction and second guessing everything about life … especially love.
It takes April seven long years and nine months to finally come to grasp with who she is and to quit undermining her future. Her choices affected many people important to her. But her fears reigned and her father’s betrayal was the key to it all.
OBSERVATIONS:
… Why 3 1/2 stars? I really, really enjoyed the last several chapters of this book, but not so much the beginning. I almost gave up reading it and am glad I didn’t. In the beginning I felt like I was being read to, rather than being drawn into the book. The emotional draw definitely picked up strong after chapter six.
… It’s hard to describe my feelings for Barbara. I can see how her husband’s betrayal damaged her. But she let her pride interfere with her personal growth and healing and as a result she was a lousy mother.
… Charles, or should we say Beau, was great! He was patient, kind and loving. He was the type of man most women would appreciate. Loved that he was always true and faithful in committed relationships.
… Minnie, oh my Minnie. Precious, smart and a definite style of her own. For seven years old, she’s already very independent. Her innocence is cute as well as mischievous.
… The secret family? Who were they? Did they know about April and her mother? How did they deal with the situation? What happened to them when the father died? A mistress and a love child … just who were they? Did April ever meet them? Would she even want to? They sure did make a negative impact on April and her mother. How did the mistress justify being a home breaker?

Family full of secrets
Man talk about a story that has its share of secrets well this one does. This is the story of April Hamilton and Charles Beaumont. Man, what a journey LA will take you on with this story, talk about a surprise around every corner, well you most definitely will have that with this book. April comes from a family of that has had it share of love and trust issues. Her and her mother don’t get along at all and she’s just lost her father but he had his own set of secrets that all but ruined April and her ideas of family and love. Beau was April’s fathers’ best friend and he has divorced his wife who he married after getting her pregnant in college because he felt it was the right thing to do. He worked hard all his life and was faithful to his wife but never really loved her and was never around to be the “father figure” he really needed to. When April and Charles/Beau spend a heated night together things click and they decide to have a secret relationship, but what happens when April finds out she’s going to have his baby? Just take a chance on this book, I promise you won’t be let down. There’s not a character that you won’t like and you’ll even find yourself liking the dog. I’m curious to see whose story is next because all the secondary characters were amazing! April has some amazing friends and I can’t wait to see if they get their own stories. Thanks, LA, for the opportunity to be a part of your ARC team I loved April and Charles story!

I enjoyed reading the story of April and Charles who reconnected after April finished college. Charles/Beau had been a friend of April’s now dead father and was considerably older than April. However they were attracted to each other and had a whirlwind relationship and April left two weeks later when she found she was pregnant because she didn’t want to make Charles feel like he had to marry her. She left the area and it was years before they saw each other again. Would they be able to rekindle their pastlove?
This was a nice story and fun to read.

The characters are well developed. It feels very realistic in the sense of that anyone can experience family drama. Having a baby and not being sure of your relationship is relatable. Truly enjoyed all the wonderful characters and love how they are all connected. This is just a wonderful story that made me feel like I was sucked into the story itself as I was reading it.

Whilst I’m not a big fan of age difference books, I did find this one interesting.
Plus I love a secret romance.
I think this storyline was handled well although I did think April was a little immature.
Loved the twists in the story. That and the rollercoaster of emotions kept me interested till the end
Well written

April mom is getting married and she’s not happy only because her father is just buried six months ago, but he wasn’t a good husband.
April see Beaumont at the wedding who is her fathers best friend and who actually hooked up Aprils mom and her new husband. April hooks up with Beau even though there is a age difference. They date without anyone knowing until circumstances comes up and she just leaves. But this is where I love the story the most because everyone assumes things, her mom thinks she’s in a relationship with Mona, her best friend. But you must read the story, it’s good!

Ok, all I can say is I wanted to scream at April and the choices she made, also Charles/Beau is a dream and a very forgiving man. Now the book itself was great, loved all the characters and the many possibilities for future books if this is to becomes a series. The storyline was well developed, with a couple of side stories thrown in there to keep it all very interesting. I enjoyed the ending for both April and Charles to say they came out on the other side with a positive outlook with each other.

I enjoyed this book by L.A. Pepper. I thought Charles/Beau was exceptionally well written – there was no mystery as to who he was as a man. April, on the other hand, came off as immature and easily influenced by her two closest friends. The reasons she gave for the decisions she made seemed to better fit what a teen would do, as opposed to what path a college graduate might take for an unplanned pregnancy. Taking Charles out of the equation and keeping it a secret for 7 years for the reasons April gave was unfair and totally irresponsible on her part. Despite that, most of the other main characters were well written and came alive off the page and helped to move the story along. There was angst to spare, some lighter moments, a cute kid and dog … and the all important HEA. One thing that I found odd and even somewhat annoying was Charles’s use of the endearment “darling” over and over again. It didn’t seem to fit this setting or story. Whenever I saw it used, I found it jarring – like I should be reading a Regency romance. I can think of a dozen other terms that would be better for this book’s time frame. Despite my minor critiques and on the whole, I would recommend this book. I do plan to read this author again.

My first time reading her book and I love it. the story of April, a young lady who fell in love with Beau(her late father best friend) they started a secret affair and when she got pregnant, she ran away without telling Beau. After so many years, she came back and they meet by chance and renewed their love affair. All secrets was revealed and it was HEA for them all.

Nothing better then a love story that beats all odds. Especially family you can’t stand, complications you weren’t ready for, friends who always meddle, and a step-sister whose been busy having tea with your grandmother while you’ve been hiding from reality. Not to mention she’s one of those meddling best friends.
But you can’t hide forever especially when the people who know you best always get what they want.
This was such a fun read I didn’t want to put it down. Infact I didn’t I finished it in less then 24 hours.

April’s dad had died 6 months ago and her mom was getting married and it bothered her a lot. She had to go to the wedding and her 2 best friends went with her to support her and help her not to lose control. Charles was her father’s friend but April wanted a one stand with him but it was a little more. She got pregnant and realized that she loved him and didn’t want to do what his ex wife had trapped him into a marriage that he hadn’t wanted. So Mona talked her into going home with her and then 7 years and 9 months later she moved in with her friends and making jewelry making good money with the business. She met Charles again he had been told that she had gotten married so he didn’t want to tell her how he felt. Finally she had to tell him that Minnie was his daughter first he was upset but he realized that it would have be like it had been for him earlier. But they did get everything figured out and Minnie met April’s side of the family and they stayed together and they were very happy!
