Can you believe everything you read? Steve must answer that question when he finds a strange blog while searching for his friend’s address. It was crazy to consider the government would poison a lake to find Bigfoot–and Steve wasn’t crazy. But, there were also some truths weaved into this unbelievable tale. Steve began to question his comfortable reality as he kept reading.
Does Bigfoot exist? The age-old question… and we really want to know because as humans, we can’t live with the spooky and unknown existing sans a realistic explanation. But this isn’t your typical story about the mysterious creature… D.L. Finn treats us to fun tale about a couple and some neighbors who have a deeper connection to Bigfoot… one that has a more science-fiction / fantasy element to it.
I’ve read a couple of short stories and novels by the author in the past. I enjoy her writing style, easy-to-understand and strong, reachable with a focused tone. When I needed a short read this weekend in between lengthier novels, I checked out her list of books and decided to go with something that might have a little levity.
I can’t say much about the plot, but it was a great way to take our knowledge and imagination to new heights. I’m not sure what I’d do if this happened, but it would be fun to watch it all from afar.
A great tale, a detailed plot, and memorable setting. I hope we see more of these characters again.
Great shortstory!
As with many short stories I have read and enjoyed, I wish there had been more!!
It was well written and edited, and the story was very intriguing! As I said I wanted to know more! As it was it had a very clever ending! You will enjoy this short tale!
Is Bigfoot real? The only witnesses who seem to believe it are usually quoted in newspapers that feature Elvis sightings and UFOs. When was the last time you went to a party and some ordinary Joe pulls up a chair and says, “Guess what? I saw a Bigfoot today.”
Never, right? Well, maybe you go to the wrong parties.
Because that’s exactly what happened to an ordinary guy who was simply trying to find a friend’s address. His friend had moved to Florida suddenly, and he was hoping to get together with him.
Then he found out why his friend had moved without leaving a forwarding address. And he also discovered a whole lot more…
Bigfoot is a fun short story, a quick read that asks a plausible question. So, if you’re looking for something that combines tabloid staples like government cover-ups, UFOs, and aliens living among us, look no further. Go grab a copy of DL Finn’s Bigfoot.
It is a fun and intriguing read. Ms. Finn truly knows how to do a short story right.
The tale is written in the first person. The prose is conversational, which infuses a sense of intimacy. What I like the most is that the author applies the current trend of overflowing social media output as a means to convey the story; readers can relate to it in no time.
I recommend this story to anyone who searches for a short break from the mundane life or a hectic day, escaping to a fantasy and thought-provoking read.
Does Bigfoot exist? Is this missing link a real creature? Or is this just myth and legend passed down from generation to generation? While this short story by D. L. Finn doesn’t definitively answer these questions in real life, her short tale does entertain readers as we get pulled into a world of government spooks, aliens, and the ever elusive Bigfoot.
Bigfoot exists—or, at least in this story. There is even evidence to prove this reality. But that evidence disappears. I can’t say much more without giving away the plot.
Well-written and tightly executed, Bigfoot: A Short Story is at once entertaining and thought provoking. D. L. Finn has a good grasp of creating compelling stories in short fiction. This could be built into a full-length novel. A fun read.
