Conquer. Control. Command. They have. They are. They will. They are the Wall Street Royals, men at the top of their game who are about to be mastered by the one thing they never counted on: love. Don’t miss the second book in the seductively sexy new series by New York Times bestselling author Tara Sue Me.Big Swinging D: Term used for the baddest badass on Wall Street. That guy. The one other men … guy. The one other men want to be and that women just want.
Maggie Warren has always been unfocused. She hops from job to job, and relationship to relationship. Most of the time, she’s not even looking where she’s going. Which is exactly what happens when she runs into Isaac Gregory, trips over her feet, and dumps a year’s worth of compost all over his hand-stitched suit and one-of-a-kind leather shoes.
Isaac’s never met anyone like Maggie. She’s nothing like the women he works with, or the submissives he typically dates. Sure, she’s got a knockout body and a wit to match, but she’s a free spirit and hopelessly scattered. He should not be attracted to her. But he is.
After hearing she’s between jobs, he offers her his recently vacated Personal Assistant position. She readily agrees, but isn’t sure why he’d hire her. He’s her exact opposite: structured, organized, and controlled.
Boy, does he like control. And it intrigues her, especially when she discovers his private life.
Isaac’s not surprised when Maggie grows more and more interested in both of the worlds she sees him in: the public boardroom badass and the private well-respected Dominant. He tells her if she’s interested, he has a plan. A plan so hedonistic it could only be proposed by the man nicknamed the Big Swinging D.
But even Wall Street isn’t prepared for the fallout when the king of control falls for the queen of chaos.

A new author to me, I read Big Swinging D all in one read. I was intrigued with this story from the start. Isaac has a secret life and he does not want his newly hired, after just meeting her, assistant Maggie to know about it. Issac is a Dom by night and though Maggie is his exact opposite he can’t stop wanting to control her, as least in bed anyway. Maggie has an idea of what he does at night and when she finds out, boy do things change for the two of them, Lol. I truly enjoyed this one! 4 stars*****
*****I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book provided by NetGalley*****
I voluntarily requested an advance reader copy of Big Swinging D by Tara Sue Me, because her books have often been recommended to me, so this is the first time I’ve read her, and, as seems to be my habit, it’s the second book in a series, and I’ve not read the first one, but this novel is billed as a standalone, and I guess it works as such, but I fail to see what all the rave reviews are about, because this short novel could, at best, have been referred to as BDSM-light, and for that reason along with others I’ll mention, this was, in my opinion, a 1-star read.
The female lead in this novel is Maggie, a widow, whose late husband found her interest in adding a little kink to their marital relationship unacceptable, and so their sex was as vanilla as vanilla could be. After his death, Maggie finds herself in desperate need of a full-time job, and after actually running into Isaac, a Wall Street millionaire, and accidentally pouring a big bucket of compost all over him and his expensive suit, she invites him back to her apartment to shower and change his now odiferous clothing for clothing that once belonged to her late husband. Next thing you know, Maggie is working as Issac’s personal assistant, notwithstanding her lack of office skills, her haphazard way of doing things and her messy desk. Despite Isaac’s policy to not become involved with his employees, he’s attracted to Maggie, who figures out rather quickly that Isaac is a Dom, and has the nerve to ask him about it. She is soon transferred to another job, freeing her up for a relationship with Isaac, and her BDSM dreams are about to come true.
The relationship between these two characters is pretty much nonexistent, and there is little to no depth or backstory for either of them, the most we learn is that Maggie’s late husband was a bit of a prude, and we learn nothing about how Isaac got his nickname, while the novel’s title does give us a clue about his attributes. We don’t know how or why he became a Dom, or anything else about his history, his emotions, or his past He’s a rather staid, cool and commanding Dom verbally, and Maggie is pretty much his exact opposite, and why he is suddenly attracted to her just one more unanswered question about this pair.
By the time these two characters finally get together sexually, I found Maggie’s introduction to BDSM rather bland and in no way sexy–one slight bj, a spanking, getting bent over a chair, and told to be quiet was a major fail, in my opinion, and Maggie’s acceptance of becoming Isaac’s submissive which almost immediately becomes mutual insta-love was so low-key and considering their lack of communication, was virtually unbelievable. I also found the fact that Isaac didn’t do threesomes was rather odd for a Dom who belongs to a BDSM club, where sharing a submissive is a rather common occurrence. Unfortunately, this is about a deeply as the author delved into the psyches of her characters actions and emotions. This novel read like a summary of a BSDM novel by someone who knew little about the BDSM lifestyle, and was clearly designed for readers who know little or nothing about the lifestyle either. Unfortunately, I know more about the lifestyle than the author appeared to know, and, as I felt about the 50 Shades series, people who really know nothing about the BDSM lifestyle, shouldn’t be writing about it.
All in all, while this novel was blessedly a quick, short read, that’s about the only good thing I can say about it. If you are interested in reading more about BDSM, there are far better novels about the subject out there, by authors like Shayla Black, Lora Leigh and Nikki Sex, and I’d recommend reading those to get a better idea about the BDSM lifestyle than what this novel has to offer in the way of an explanation, common practices, and an emotional connection to its characters.
This book was a fast read, and I liked the way Isaac and Maggie were such complete opposites. But their differences also made it hard to get that chemistry I was looking for, especially in a BDSM romance. That aspect was a little light, and I was expecting more action from this Dominant man. Maggie was a little flighty, but she just didn’t resonate with me as I had hoped.
An unlikely match turns up the heat in Tara Sue Me’s next book in the Wall Street Royals series! We met the delectable Isaac in the previous book starring Lance and Celeste. He’s a successful businessman by day and a self-assured dominant by night. The story was sexy and fun and we got to reconnect with the past characters as well. I’m looking forward to getting Ty and Lillian’s story soon!
Maggie Warren is something of a free spirit. She flits between job not able to decide on exactly what it is that satisfies her in life, but she happily juggles it all with a smile on her face. It’s that exact attitude that keeps her from totally freaking out when she accidentally dumps an entire compost container on a gorgeous stranger on the street.
Isaac Gregory shouldn’t even take a second look at Maggie considering how scattered she seems to be, but he finds himself offering her his newly vacated personal assistant position and facing a non-stop attraction to her. She’s not the type he normally goes for, and when she finds out the lifestyle he leads, he’s sure she’ll run for the hills … but when Maggie surprises him and is actually intrigued instead, things just might get dicey here because he doesn’t mess with employees!
Enjoyed it – thanks!
This story was a quick read, which can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how it is handled. In this case, I think the story suffers from a lack of expansion in the details. Brevity can be a good tool to move a story through the more mundane elements of everyday life, but with this book it felt like we were leap frogging over things that needed more exploration. I am all for the “insta-love” type stories, but this one jumped from meeting each other to being in love with each other with very little development of the relationship. It just felt like I was reading a summary of the story rather than the full story. The climax of the book was WAY too quickly resolved and then the book just ended. In the end, what started out as a promising premise ended in a disappointing read.
Who knew accidentally dumping compost all over someone could lead to love? I genuinely liked both Maggie and Isaac. This was a pleasant book to read with no serious intrigue or mystery. There’s a bit of danger mixed in but in essence this is a story of a woman finally being able to explore her sexuality and natural submissive nature for the first time in her life. It is a thoroughly enjoyable reading experience.
I enjoyed reading this book it’s the first book I’ve read of Tara Sue’s. I enjoyed her style of writing and her build up of her characters and her background story. It mad me laugh in places and took a light view of the bdsm scene which I bet gets bigger and better as the storyline proceeds im looking forward to reading more of Maggie and Isaacs journey
Isaac and Maggie’s story is such a fast pace read. I only out it down when my kids called me and then only half the time. This is very light with the BDSM that Mrs. Me normally writes but it doesn’t deter from her writing. I love the story. She keeps the story flowing and entertaining in such a way you never want it to end. I highly recommend this book. But you would want to read FOK first. You don’t have to but some of the characters are in that book will make it easier for you plus it’s also awesome.
I have been a longtime fan of Tara Sue Me and loved her Submissive series. I loved this one just as much! The characters were funny and polar opposites and still so very sexy!
This was my first book by this author and I totally loved it. The characters were great, it was fun in places and the storyline was good. I would like to see where this couple go from here.
An entertaining book of love, romance and Submission with a surprise at the end. Maggie Warren is a widow and needs to start living by finding a job when she runs right into Isaac Gregory. He’s having a bad because he didn’t take his Personal Assistant serious when she gave notice. After their run in Isaac offers Maggie the job and it gets very interesting from there.
Being a huge fan of Tara Sue Me I really enjoyed this Stand alone book.
This is my first read by this author and she amazed me. I enjoyed the relationship Maggie and Isaac built. They meet in a way no one would expect, but they both feel the connection. As things move they develop more trust and feelings for each other and they both agree they need to explore them.
This is a wonderful story that shows no matter what your past has been you can still grow and learn new things.

Isaac & Maggie have an instant attraction & witty banter. They rewrite the rules of relationship with their BDSM flair. They are so designed for each other they seem like magnets with their pushing & pulling together!

“She wasn’t sure how it was possible for the excitement in her belly to both calm down and grow more intense at the same time.“
When two people that are opposites fit perfectly like two puzzle pieces… why does it still appear as though they will never actually fit together? One is awkward and clumsy the other is calm, confident and controlling.
“ The room was a feast of offerings for every sense she had. If she stayed in one place, she could probably gorge herself.”
You can’t know a person by their visual appearance. Their mind, desires, actions and fantasies can have a completely different vision.
