He always gets his way…until he meets his match. “I need you back. Now.” –William Walker I can’t believe I’m letting my ex-boss talk me into working for him again. He’s arrogant. Domineering. He gets under my skin in ways I don’t want to admit. When I quit, it felt great! But now, seeing the big, bad billionaire rendered helpless by a baby, I give in to his demand. And I’m worried it won’t … I give in to his demand. And I’m worried it won’t be the last time…

This is a quick Contemporary Romance. India Crowley works for a hard to please billionaire. When she finally turns in her notice he’s stunned. Though there’s a project he needs her help with and only India can help him with this pickle he finds himself in.
As these two find themselves working together in a closer more intimate atmosphere they’re learning what make each other tick. This could cause some issues with boss + assistant but neither wants to face that music.
I enjoyed reading their romance story. Like I said, it’s a quick read but enough to give you a good glimpse of the characters and what makes them tick.
India Crowley has other aspirations other than her current job. William Walker is a tough man to please. As they disclose who they are to each other is how the reader will get to know them. This is why the first person point of view works so well here.
If you are someone who likes connecting with the characters, India is much more approachable and more likable. William is more standoffish and all about business. The author makes him come to a stop when she puts someone in his path that will force him to reevaluate his priorities.
This might fit your office romance fix but it’s more about our couple’s interactions outside the office that will catch your attention. You’ll see a spark and then as the scenes go by you’ll see that spark brighten. I liked the fact that India started to speak up for herself but found that certain things that she wanted in her life almost disappear – especially when they are a part of who she is. With William, we get to see him mellow out and actually find a way to enjoy the people in his life.
William’s brother and sister-in-law make an appearance. If you haven’t already, you may want to check out their story in the book titled Boss. It must be a Walker thing because when I was first introduced to Kit I thought he was a jerk. With William I had the same impression. I didn’t see anything anywhere to say that these two books are a part of a series but family connects them. I don’t know if our author is going to connect another book but I’m interested to see if India’s friend Montana shows up somewhere in the future. One other thing these two books had in common is the heat the couples have.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Outstanding! I absolutely love Harlequin books. Mix in Katy Evans with her ability to craft attention grabbing characters; well, the book will be destined to be a top notch read.
I loved the pacing, humor and simplicity of their romance. The weariness and uncertainty in William. The desire and breaking down of India’s walls. All of it combined made this a winner for me!
An epic Harlequin read!
Big Shot is a fast paced enemies to lovers workplace romance. I was totally hooked from the very first page. It was impossible to not fall for India. India is hard working and good at what she does. While she makes good money, she can’t help but want more from her life. And it doesn’t help that her boss is a jerk with a capital J! William is arrogant and speaks first and thinks later. He’s used to having his way and never having anyone talk back. So, when India quits her job, it throws him totally for a loop. To make matters worse, William has just agreed to watch his baby niece for the next two weeks. He’s struggling to balance work and caring for his niece. He doesn’t know what to do, so ends up calling India and hopes that she will help him out one last time…
Overall, I found this book to be a quick and enjoyable read. I am a sucker for enemies to lovers romances and could not wait to dive into this one. I will say that William and India’s story had a bit of an insta-love quality to it, but I kind of expected that since this was such a quick read. That being said, I did enjoy William & India. I loved their banter and the tension between the two of them. It was a lot of fun watching the two of them and seeing them try to make sense out of the chemistry between them.
Big Shot was a fun read, from beginning to end. I enjoyed the characters and their story-line and had a great time just getting lost in their story. Big Shot had some great tension and banter. I enjoyed the will they/won’t they moments. I loved the romance and sweet moments and the little drama in between. All in all, a fun read to spend your day getting lost in.
I like books like Big Shot, partly because you can read them in a day or so, partly because of the whole falling for your boss theme. It’s a little taboo, against the rules, and this one already has a year of tension for them to overcome. I mean, some of the side character moments seemed rushed, but it’s a short book. It was entertaining, and romantic, with a romantically awkward hero and a sassy assistant. I enjoyed it.
William a truly all work no fun workaholic, finds himself watching for his niece and without an assistant and issues with his dad. India had to leave her job, her feelings for William are more than what she knows is right. However she gets herself living at his house, watching her niece and helping him with his work, but with some rules in place. Two weeks and what do you think will happen? Fast reading story with an enemies to lovers, billionaire boss and a sexy woman, fantastic read.
A despised boss/employee (William/India) to lovers romance, Big Shot is an enjoyable quick read. Perfect for a summer day at the beach or lazing around the pool.
