It’s not just the motion of the ocean, ladies. It’s definitely the SIZE of the boat too.
And I’ve got both firing on all cylinders. In fact, I have ALL the right assets. Looks, brains, my own money, and a big cock.
You might think I’m an asshole. I sound like one, don’t I? I’m hot as sin, rich as heaven, smart as hell and hung like a horse.
Guess what? You haven’t heard my story before. Sure, I … story before. Sure, I might be a playboy, like the NY gossip rags call me. But I’m the playboy who’s actually a great guy. Which makes me one of a kind.
The only trouble is, my dad needs me to cool it for a bit. With conservative investors in town wanting to buy his flagship Fifth Avenue jewelry store, he needs me not only to zip it up, but to look the part of the committed guy. Fine. I can do this for Dad. After all, I’ve got him to thank for the family jewels. So I ask my best friend and business partner to be my fiancée for the next week. Charlotte’s up for it. She has her own reasons for saying yes to wearing this big rock.
And pretty soon all this playing pretend in public leads to no pretending whatsoever in the bedroom, because she just can’t fake the kind of toe-curling, window-shattering orgasmic cries she makes as I take her to new heights between the sheets.
But I can’t seem to fake that I might be feeling something real for her.
What the fuck have I gotten myself into with this…big rock?
BIG ROCK is a standalone, dirty romance novel written from the guy’s POV by NYT Bestselling author Lauren Blakely…

This book is so sharp and witty it slipped the feels under the door. If you haven’t read Lauren’s Big Rock series – start here and never stop!
Lauren Blakely always writes fun, sexy rom-com. Great, good-guy hero and sweet heroine. Perfect when you want a feel-good read.
A big read!
Their red-hot chemistry is irresistible, but is this love…
Or just lust?
Oh. My. God. What did I just read!?! Pure amazingness and I loved that the whole book was in the guy’s POV which makes me really excited to read all the books in this series!
The chemistry between the hero and heroine was off the charts. Steamy and sexy! Passionate and lovely.
Ugh. Cannot get over how incredible and simply perfect it is.
Full of laughter, friends, family, fakeness, passion, steaminess and love.
Perfect for readers of contemporary romances.
Guys can be soooooo clueless at times
Loved it!!!!! Romance & comedy!!!! I laughed sooooo much at this book. I could not put it down!! Great read!!!
Hilarious. Sexy. And so much fun! BIG ROCK is a “friends to lovers” type of story, but let me tell you, it is like no other “friends to lovers” book I’ve read. Spencer and Charlotte’s story is completely unique and ridiculously entertaining. This book was clearly a projection of Lauren’s more hilarious side that her fans get to see on her facebook posts *lol*
It was pure genius that Lauren wrote this book all in the male POV. That right there made for an interesting read in of itself! I think it’s a true testament to an author’s ability to write, if he or she can write a complete book in the opposite POV and Lauren NAILED it with BIG ROCK! She was able to depict Spencer’s thoughts and actions to a T! I never at one point thought, “Hmm…that was kind of a ‘girly’ thought.”
For me, this book was like no other Lauren Blakely novel and honestly, BIG ROCK is my favorite of hers to date. I was completely immersed in everything Spencer and Charlotte from page one! Reading Spencer’s inner dialogue was downright comical! Between his inner struggles with his growing *ahem* feelings for his best friend and then his and Charlotte’s friendship in general, it was a HOOT of a read! I loved every silly, awkward and sexy moment between Spencer and Charlotte. There definitely were no dull moments between those two! I felt like right from the beginning I “knew” these characters. I didn’t have to guess what they’re horrid past story was or what made them who they are, they were just Spencer and Charlotte and they were completely lovable and I enjoyed every minute of their story <3
One more thing…OMG, his conversations with his cat! BAHAHA! Oh Fiddo…if only you could talk, Spencer would be in SO MUCH trouble!
“Fido and I have an understanding: I feed him, and he doesn’t c*ck-block me.”
And my favorite:
This is the end to my Saturday night. My cat has watched me whack off to a vision of my best friend. “Don’t say a word,” I hiss. He looks away, lifting his chin haughtily. But he’ll keep my secret. I’ll keep his, too, the f*cking little voyeur.
BAHAHA! I think Lauren enjoys bringing her love for animals into her stories and that’s one more reason I find her books entertaining…it’s like the animals become their own characters and in BIG ROCK, Fido was a special fun bonus
5 “BIG” Stars 😉
If you like snark you’ll want to check this one out! Spencer reminds me of Drew in the Tangled series by Emma Chase if you’ve ever read that one. There’s nothing new in the storyline of Big Rock: guy needs a fake fiancée, he talks his BFF into it and she agrees to the ruse for two weeks, they begin to fall for one another, and neither knows quite how the other will react. There are definite laugh out loud lines in this one. It’s pure entertainment and brain candy.
Spencer has an ego that is like no other. Oh, he knows he has faults and readily admits to them, but he certainly dwells on his assets. He and Charlotte have been BFFs since college and know everything there is to know about one another. They’ve been through it all together. What better person to be a stand-in, temporary fiancée? Absolutely no one! They set some rules, soon break most of them, and before you can blink they’re in uncharted waters. It’s fun to watch them flounder!
A quick, easy, total brain candy read.
No one writes dirty talking Alphas like Lauren Blakely. Big Rock was a fun and spicy book about best friends being faked engaged and real feelings are developed. Spencer is a playboy who co owns a bar with his best friend, Charlotte. When he needs a fake fiance, he asks her to play along for a couple weeks.
I loved, loved their chemistry. They were great friends that turned into even better lovers. It was off the charts hot and I loved Spencer’s dirty talking. The story was fun and I can’t to read more from the series. The audiobook version is great. Solo narrated by Sebastian York. He’s delightful delicious through out the whole book.
A fantastic friend to lovers read with a plus.

I loved this book, from beginning to end!
The humor that Lauren Blakely infuses through her stories always is wonderful.
Starting off with Spencer and his self evaluation to Charlotte becoming a part of his “plan to help his father” there are one liners, speeches to the cat, dishing the old boyfriend and getting the story straight that one can’t help but spending a lot of time laughing while you spend time with Spencer and Charlotte.
It isn’t all laughter though; there is heat that could melt an ice sculpture and language that brings a whole new meaning to dirty!
This is such a good feeling book that I can only say if you haven’t read it, pick it up and enjoy your time with Spencer, Charlotte and Fido the cat. I hear from good sources that Fido is a voyeur, so you know even that cat is having a good time!
This book made me laugh, he is such a cocky guy “pun intended” and has no idea what he is getting himself into. This book had steamy moments to make you feel warm and tingly as well as moments that you will laugh. Definitely a fun read, Blakely never disappoints.
A fun, witty, sensual, and heartwarming story. I was absolutely charmed by this book.
Fake relationship! Friends to lovers! Lauren Blakely always has plenty of steam (swoons) in her novels, and I really enjoy that the story is told from Spencer’s perspective. (What can POSSIBLY go wrong when you rope your best friend into being your fake fiance in order to seal a business deal?)
Spencer and Charlotte have a fake engagement/best friend to lovers story that I really enjoyed. This book is written in first person entirely from Spencer’s POV. There is humor and heat as these business partners and friends fake it until it is suddenly very real.
This book grabbed my attention from the start. I loved the characters and their banter. The story line was fun to follow and I really enjoyed the perspective being from the guys POV instead of the girls or both. I never really wondered what the girls POV was because I was so entertained by the guys. I felt like nothing was lacking! This is a “will read again” book!
Lauren Blakely Big Rock
ERMAGERD!!! Lauren Blakely writes a hilarious, sexy, fun book that delivers just what it promises! This “fake engagement” story had ALL of the fun and feels. My first book by this author certainly won’t be my last! Dive on in, the diamonds are just the tip of the fun!
Spencer and Charlotte’a story was a good read. Enjoyed this best friends to lovers romance. This story had the perfect amount of drama, steam and laughter. Great job on the author with keeping the reader engaged.
This book was just okay for me. It was different having a story told strictly from the hero. I liked the characters. There just wasn’t much of a story. No real plot twists or surprises.
This one had me so happy listening to it. Fake engagement to his best friend that turns real, yea that hasn’t been done before but this one was just so witty with so much banter it was refreshing. Definitely recommend it.
UPDATE 8/26/19: Found this on Audible Escape and it was better with Sebastian York as narrator. It still didn’t wow me, but it was more enjoyable.
KU: This was OK. It was the kind of book that I’d put down and go back to and put down and… The first 60% was mostly just sex scenes and very little plot which kind of got annoying. The ending was sweet and definitely an HEA. I think maybe the singular POV hurt this and it might have benefitted from more input from Charlotte. As much as I wasn’t “Wow-ed” by this one, I think I might continue the series as the reviews seem to get better.
