He thinks he’s too big for me. I like a challenge.
On my twenty-fifth birthday, I received a letter. My mother had left me a piece of land in her will– the farm I grew up on as a child. Her last request was that I restore it… and how could I say no?
So I returned to my little town full of big memories. Nothing has changed here.
Except for Grant Werther.
When we were kids, I barely saw him. Now … kids, I barely saw him. Now I can’t miss him. The guy is HUGE; all muscle and beard, like some hardened mountain man. He’s intimidating… and definitely sexy, in an alpha-male-cowboy kind of way.
Turns out his dad owns part of my farm and he’s got the papers to prove it. That means I can’t do anything without Grant’s approval. On top of that, this jerk says I’m too “city girl” to be here.
And the way he openly stares at my ass in my cut-off jeans makes it clear what he thinks I’d be good at.
He’s the biggest man I’ve ever seen and I admit, I’m curious what he’s hiding in his boxers.
I didn’t know he’d catch me peeking.
Now he won’t stop teasing me. He keeps saying I could never handle him, that he’d break me in two. I know I don’t have to prove him wrong…
But I want to.

Heather is moving to Austin to try to become a singer. She has rented an apartment from off the web and when she gets to the address it is nothing like the picture. She has already paid for it so she has to stay. She parked behind someone in the lot and he comes to find her. Ian is big, hunky and rude and brash. She will try to avoid him for sure. Ian has a chip on his shoulder. Heather is sweet, always thinking of others, and a good person. She just wants to write and sing her songs. These two characters are exact opposites. They have one thing in common and that is their attraction to each other. Can they find common ground? Is there more? Can Heather help Ian with his turmoil? Can Ian keep Heather safe? I enjoyed this read because the characters were very unique, intriguing, conflicting. The story is filled with lust, passion, steam and first time love. It is an amazing, enjoyable journey that Heather and Ian take you on.

Style: Small Town Romance
Story: 3/5
Sexual: SEX-CITINGLY GOOD
Enjoyment:3/5
Series:
3.5 stars
This was, sweet, mix with a little naughty and I like it. Grant, was big, sweet hardworking all the above for a small town guy. Sasha, funny, grew up country, but she is so city.
I love that this is a second chance romance, and we get to see these two rebuild with the other thinking when they were younger, they weren’t interested. Small town thing kind of scare me a bit when it’s too sweet. Sweet is good but need my serving of romance with a bit of dirty and that the author did. The only thing that annoyed me was the amount of times they said CITY GIRL omg, it drove me crazy. I need to know the word count on that.
Overall, a nice read, not bad but not great.
***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s definitely about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the stories you read. I hope this review was helpful.
I love it. I couldn’t stop reading until the end. Lina and Madden are perfect together. The characters grow so much and it’s pleasing to see a happy ending for everyone.

Second chance, friends to lovers.
Sexy but so sweet. Great plot and characters with a deserved HEA.
Well worth the read.
P.S. LOVE the cover!
Hot, smoking, and on fire. I loved this book. It was descriptive and I could visualize the authors words. The presumed contrast in Grant and Sasha’s personalities was great; Grant the slow paced simple life country boy compared to Sasha the faced pace uptight city girl turned out to be nit that contrasting. They both wanted the same thing, which was each other. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I will read other books from this author.
One never forgets his or hers first love and Grant and Sasha are no exception. When life happens and they are “forced” to live and work together, they both started feeling that there is still something between them, but Grant fears that small town will never be enough for Sasha.
Sasha is set on leaving sooner rather than later. But she wasn’t prepared for the impact that Grant has on her and slowly she begins questioning her resolve to leave and never look back.
I want this, Grant. That life, the big city, all the hustle and bustle, it…I enjoyed it, for a time. But it never felt real. It never felt settled. This, you…this feels more real than any of that ever did.«
You got to love how Penny Wylder writes love stories. This one is no exception – it was as are all her books full of funny, sweet, hot and steamy times.
Huge 4* from me. I highly recommend it.
I loved loved loved this book.
These two were hot together. Even when they were fighting you could feel the sexual tension jumping off the page.
I loved the character of Grant. I enjoyed his honesty and his way of putting her on the spot whether it was to embarrass her or to call her out on something. I liked that he was a man who knew exactly who he was and what he wanted out of life. I also enjoyed his dirty mouth 🙂
Sasha was written in a way that I think a lesser author could have made me really dislike her. However Mrs. Wylder wrote her in a way that while she was frustrating at times, you could understand where she was coming from.
I really liked this book!
This author is known for her ability to write amazing stories with wonderful plots and memorial characters; having stated that, this story is like a sweet dirty need; the need to become part of this story and find a way to make “Big Man” yours.
This story is brilliant in how hot and steamy it is, it is filled with amazing dialogue, bold characters and a plot that will have you obsessed with the outcome. Big Man (and yes I am calling him that because it fits him perfectly) is the ultimate alpha man. He is wonderful and makes the reader fall for him. I have never read a story where I wanted to fight the heroine for the man. I wanted him for myself and was slightly bummed that he did not jump out of the story and claim me instead.
There is no pretense in this story, it starts out full steam and only gets hotter. I cannot explain how amazing this read was. It was the perfect story to escape from the pre-holiday drama. It might read a little over the top, this was pure fantasy, but my, oh my, was it perfect. I have read all of this author’s works and as she writes her stories get better and better, this was by far my favorite from her and I really do wish Big Man was mine. If you have never read this author before, start with this story, you will not regret it, just make sure you are not interrupted while reading, you might be a little fixated until it is over!!
Sasha Bluebell returns to her hometown on a mission to sell her mom’s property that she inherited after her passing. She did plan on the complication of Grant Werther, whom unknown to her also inherited a portion.
Neither one of them thinks the other one recognizes/remembers the other. Prior to the drama of high school the two of them grew up together and were once pretty close friends.
I was confused on first trying to determine if the reason Sasha left town and had previously not returned was because her mom and her had a falling out or if something traumatic happened to her. Then I was confused on why the towns people were treating her the way they were. I think my confusion actually pulled me more into the story. It intrigued me as I was determined to figure out what happened in her past.
As far as Grant goes he grew up into a fine big man. Seriously is there anything hotter than watching a bare chested buff man chopping wood. I could actually visualize sweat running down his chest. He is definitely a small town guy. He doesn’t need much to make him content.
They first came across as having nothing in common. ‘City Girl’ and ‘Country Boy’. He thinks that small town life hold no attraction to Sasha. Sasha is determined there is more to her that being a big city girl.
These two have interesting dynamics. Like a love, hate relationship. There is underlying heat that slowly ignite as we read along and is at the point of being combustible when they give in to the chemistry.
As they work on the house and property that they have to figure out if the end result will be if they will have the same goal or will go their separate ways.
