JakeI have a big reputation, a big fire truck and a big hose…one that doesn’t hook up to a hydrant. Men in town envy me. Who wouldn’t? I’ve got women lining up to slide down my pole. I’m living a bachelor’s dream. And then a new girl moves into town…and suddenly everything I’ve always thought about relationships goes up in flames.HopeI’ve moved halfway across the country for a new start after … halfway across the country for a new start after being burned by a charming bad boy.
I have two goals. Thirty minutes of set-the-sheets-on-fire sex to relieve me of my near-virgin status. Then I get serious about finding the perfect dad for my son.
And all that will work out perfectly when my foolish heart stops wanting the same thing as my va-jay-jay…the notorious playboy in town.
For women who fantasize about dirty-talking, cocky, larger than life, alpha heroes with BIG………egos. What did you think I was going to say?

I loved this! It grabbed me from the first page, kept me til the last and enthralled me in between. Well worth your time to read it.
The author paints a good picture of the story and I like that this took place in a small town with people who have everyday jobs. The chemistry was hot and the drama understandable- nothing over the top. I liked this story!

He’s got a reputation he no longer wants and she want a daddy for her boy. It was sweet, sometimes predictable but worth the read.

Great although a little predictable
4.5
I really liked this romance and the style of the author. The story remains simple, but I appreciated that, although the narrative seems geared towards and by the heroine Hope, one of the points that guides the relationship is the way the rumor carries the reputation of the hero Jake, which he wants to get rid of and that is not true for several months. His self-reflection and empathy with Hope about this reputation (he understands that she refuses to go out with him because of it) are very well described in the story. Added to this are some misunderstandings and twists that keep this romance attractive.
Hope is new to a small Kansas town and is a kindergarten teacher in her son’s class. During a visit to the fire station, she meets Jake, nicknamed “Big hose” because of its attributes. Hope thinks he’s nicknamed that because he’s a firefighter. When Jake understands that he will be able to get closer to someone he appreciates, without supporting his reputation as a player or as a phenomenon in bed, he chooses to try to go out with her. However, on the other hand, Hope does not want a player near her son, until she tells herself that she should enjoy Jake at least one night because she only slept once, 6 years ago and she became pregnant.
So Jake must prove to Hope that he’s better than one night and that he wants more, while preparing her for what she will have in bed.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
After reading and enjoying the first book in the series Big Head I could not wait to read this one and it did not disappoint. I just loved getting to know Jake and Hope they were great together and such great characters. A great addition to the series I really enjoyed it and would recommend it.

A sweet story about how assumptions, reputations, and insecurities can make one make poor choices. Hope and Jake find themselves facing all this and more. Who doesn’t love a good tale of a reformed womanizer and the woman who helps him realize what the future could be.
You will get instantly immersed into life in Bootllick, Kansas.

The book is a good small town romantic comedy read. The story has a good story line, and the story is a well written read. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story has enough humor, and drama to keep you in an engaging read that has a blissful end.

This was a cute fun story of a romance between single mother/teacher Hope and firefighter Jake. There were plenty of laughs throughout, as well as some steamy moments. It also showed the importance of communication in a relationship and not listening to rumours.
Oh my gosh this book was awesome! Hope is the new kindergarten teacher and Jake is the hot firefighter. Jake has a reputation and women like to talk about his appendage. His amazing appendage. But for the first time in his life he’s not thinking about that well not much. This book is another funny book in this series of books. Sometimes it’s fun to read romance that is not so serious.

Rumors, lies and innuendos…
This is a sweet love story and shows that you shouldn’t listen to gossip.
Hope has led a sheltered life and her experience with men is very limited. When she moves to a new town for a fresh start she meets Jake, a fireman with the nickname “Big Hose”. She assumes it’s because he’s a fireman…wrong!
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I thought it was good. I would say it is a standalone as I didn’t have any trouble figuring out what was going on. It was a cute story of a romance between single mother/teacher Hope and firefighter Jake. There were plenty of laughs throughout, as well as some steamy moments. It also showed the importance of communication in a relationship and not listening to rumors. I liked it and would read more by this author.

A fun read. Lot of hot and steamy scenes, excitement, suspense, fun interactions between the two. What started out as a one time thing snowballed into something else. But is not a smooth road. I was given a review copy by booksprout and voluntarily review it.
Second book by this author and I have to say this was fell flat for me (compared to Big Head). I just felt like the “almost virgin” and “big hose” bit was a little too overplayed. I also couldn’t get into all the banter going on. It just didn’t feel as witty or steamy as the other one.

A perfect story to read…”while you get your pipes cleaned.”
In a story where hoses, pipes, balls and polls are words sprinkled throughout this is another romcom by Blake Wilder in her Size Matters Series.
Hope, the kindergarten teacher, along with George, her five year old son move to Bootlicker, Kansas because she accepted a teaching job. While on a field trip to the fire station she meets the only full time firefighter, Jake aka Big Hose. He flirts. She rejects. He ends up playing ball with son and so starts their relationship, which is dealing with miscues and reputations.
I liked this relatively short story. It was very well written with an engaging plot and characters. There was a perfect supporting cast of Ada and even snotty Lauren. We all know someone like her.
Definitely recommending this book for your reading pleasure and enjoyment. Looking forward to the next book in the series, Big Balls. I am leaving this review for your consideration.
A cute story that is well written and has a nice storyline and plot. I like the characters but would have liked them to have more communication and less doubts.
They develop nicely through the story. A story that flows well of the pages. It is fun and romantic but the heroin annoyed me a times with her believing all the romours instead of asking him.
A story written in dual POV which gave the reader more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters and made it more realistic.
Recommendable read.
