He’s rough, he’s dirty, he’s disciplining an heiress. No problem, right?
It’s been a long night for Gage working door security at the Fortune Club on Sixth Avenue. Dealing with fist-happy drunks and hot to trot women might be part of his job description, but at four in the morning, he’s not loving his career. And his crappy night is about to get worse when he steps in to save a woman from a … from a potentially ugly situation. Now he’s left with a semi-conscious girl on his hands and the club is closing. What else can he do but take her home to let her sleep it off? The trouble with that plan is she’s a wealthy ice princess and he’s an ex-con from the wrong side of town.
Anna remembers going to the Fortune Club, but not much about leaving. When she wakes up in a strange apartment occupied by one of the biggest men she’s ever seen, she wonders what exactly happened. When she insults and accuses him, she discovers he’s not a man to be trifled with. Frankly, he won’t tolerate her bratty behavior and when he disciplines her, she learns the hard way not to push him too far. She leaves but can’t stop thinking about Gage and wanting to be over his knee and in his bed again.
This is book two in the Misters of Manhattan series with a happily ever after and can be enjoyed independently.

Very hot but….
It’s an extremely hot story but the characters and their approach baffled me. It is especially the heroine, Anna, that I did not understand: she needs submission, but she refuses and is frosty, she is insulting, submits to her grandmother who wants a forced marriage, yells at the only person who helps her. The story allows her to see her evolve, to seek her freedom, but what a complex path, especially once she is subjected to a request for blackmail.
And the hero, Gage, is himself difficult to understand in his relationship with women, his role as coach, his relationship that he systematically breaks up with Anna while wanting to protect her after she is drugged and then threatened …
In short, the characters are complex and sometimes unclear even if the end makes it easier to understand them.

My first book by Lana Lachlan, and ill certainly be back for more. Hooked from the first page in this steamy romance. A great though out story filled with emotion, lust, romance and spanking! well written an nicely paced easy read, with lovable characters.
*this book does have cheating as an element of the story.

When Gage sees men carting a woman passed out he knows he has to step in. What he doesn’t expect is for ber to look like sleeping beauty or have her steal his heart.

Gage is a bouncer at a nightclub. He saves Anna from men who gave her a date rape drug. He takes her to his home to sleep it off and when she wakes up, she thinks Gage is who drugged her. She yells and then attacks him. He spanks her and Anna is hooked. Anna wasn’t my favorite because she was very whiny. Gage helps her build her spine and there is a HEA.
