He’s rough, he’s dirty, he’s disciplining an heiress. No problem, right?
It’s been a long night for Gage working door security at the Fortune Club on Sixth Avenue. Dealing with fist-happy drunks and hot to trot women might be part of his job description, but at four in the morning, he’s not loving his career. And his crappy night is about to get worse when he steps in to save a woman from a … from a potentially ugly situation. Now he’s left with a semi-conscious girl on his hands and the club is closing. What else can he do but take her home to let her sleep it off? The trouble with that plan is she’s a wealthy ice princess and he’s an ex-con from the wrong side of town.
Anna remembers going to the Fortune Club, but not much about leaving. When she wakes up in a strange apartment occupied by one of the biggest men she’s ever seen, she wonders what exactly happened. When she insults and accuses him, she discovers he’s not a man to be trifled with. Frankly, he won’t tolerate her bratty behavior and when he disciplines her, she learns the hard way not to push him too far. She leaves but can’t stop thinking about Gage and wanting to be over his knee and in his bed again.

A captivating and thrilling book two in the Misters of Manhattan series! The story line is fast pace, entertaining, engaging, emotionally deep, and well written. It is packed with drama, intrigue, angst, twists and turns, ups and downs, passion, and steam. The characters are different but amazing together; the chemistry between them is combustible! Definitely recommended!

Gage is a ex con and is working as a bouncer at a night club. One night he sees three men dragging a young woman from the club and stopped them. They ended up leaving her at the curb and he took her home with him until she woke from whatever they gave her. Anna is from a wealthy family and is about to marry a man her family is pushing her into. She went out with a friend to have one night for herself not expecting someone to drug her and steal her purse that has her engagement ring inside it. When Anna wakes up she accuses Gage of drugging her until he explains things to her. Sparks fly between them and they end up having sex before she leaves. Gage figures that he’ll never see her again but when someone contacts Anna about that night she comes to Gage about it. Will Anna admit that she wants something more with Gage before its too late? Or will her family force her into a life they want for her?
This is a good story that will draw you in from the first chapter on. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

He loved her but, sent her on her way till she decided what it was she wanted from life!
by sewsummore
Gage met Annaliesa when he rescued her from a sexual predator, taking her to his loft to sleep off the drugs she had been given. It was not a happy woman that woke up the next morning, argumentative and violent, thinking he had been the one responsible for drugging her. Gage soon cured her of her mistake and, a bare bottom spanking turned her into a wanton young woman in need of release, which he quickly provided. After she recovered, he sent her home never expecting to see her again. Anna was an engaged woman promised in a marriage to a man she never loved, simply to please her grandmother. Gage was an ex-con and, a man who was used to fighting for what he wanted. They should have had nothing in common but Anna kept seeing him and, despite his reluctance they kept making love. In the end, he gave her an ultimatum to get her life in order before she saw him again. I found this story engaging and entertaining. Anna needed to decide what it was that she wanted in life and go for it. Her actions with Gage showed that she was spoilt and needed to grow up before she made any important decisions like marriage and it was what she needed to be told. Gage loved her but she did not know what she wanted and until she took control of her life, he did not want to see her. He offered her a choice and the rest was up to her.

Romance, affairs, and lost love! ‘Big Bad Bouncer’ is a fabulously written love story that drew me in right from the start. As the action heats up between the princess and the ex-con, I zipped through the novel. Page after page, I wondered if Anna will have the inner strength to fight for her freedom and call off an arranged marriage or will she marry Mr. Wrong? I really liked the heroine, and I simply loved the story.
After reading this book I had to take a little time to compose myself and get my thoughts clear in my head before I put them in a review.
Wow this book was amazingly written. Once I started I couldn’t put it down till I was finished. This book has twists and turns you don’t know what’s happening. will they all get there happily ever after or will it all go wrong. To find out what happens go buy the book. You won’t be disappointed I wasn’t.

He takes her in hand and then in his bed
*** 3 1/2 Stars ***
Big Bad Bouncer is the second book in the Misters of Manhattan series. This is the first book I have read by Lana Lachlan so I was not sure what to expect with this fledgling author, as she has published one book previously. The book description looked like it could be intriguing so it piqued my interest. I did find the story to be engaging and entertaining and quite well written. Yes there were some things that I did not especially like in the story-line but there were things that I really liked. The characters were good and had nice qualities, but a few bad habits. They were definitely hot and steamy with each other but there was a bit of a lack of connection to me.
I look forward to reading more by this author and seeing how she develops as a writer and where her story-lines go.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Having read the first book in this series by the author I was keen to read this book. Then I get about half way through & I’m wondering why? I really didn’t like either character. But I kept reading & slowly I could find traits in each of them that I liked until by the end I really quite liked each of them individually and felt they worked well as a couple. I especially liked the ending. I felt that it was more realistic and therefore sweeter than I would expect in other, similar reads. It was a fairly easy, quick read if you wanted to fill an hour or two. But make sure you keep reading.
Big Bad Bouncer was a rough, gritty and exhilarating read. I love opposites attract tropes and with the added bonus of the kink thrown in, I was rooting hard for both the gruff hero, Gage and bratty, more than a socialite, Anna 🙂 These two had the best chemistry and with plenty of obstacles in their way, including their own doubts and insecurities, the journey is far from rose tinted.
This story starts off with a bang, followed but a serious of events that leave you glued to the story with each new page. I was sad to see this one end but I definitely enjoyed the ride. I wouldn’t say it was your typical romance/erotica read but I can say it was memorable, special for all the right reasons and although it had it’s rough edges, Anna and Gage were a romance addicts favorite fix.
Highly recommend and will definitely be checking out more by this author.
Heat Level: 5/5
Gage was a bouncer. He had been a boxer and was wrongfully a used of a crime and imprisoned. Annaliesa was an heiress and was about to be married. Gage saved her from some bad men who roofied her. But then he realized she needed something from him. Even though she acted like she was appalled, Annaliesa fell as hard for Gage as he did for her but socially it wouldn’t work. The road to their happiness was filled with regrets, disappointments and a bit of danger. Fun and naughty read

New to me author and second in a series of standalone books. Gage and Anna met by chance, he saves her from some guys who drugged her at a night club. She is a spoiled, entitled, rich girl and he is an ex-con, bouncer, trainer. I did not like Anna much at all until the end of the book. It appeared very much like she was “slumming” with Gage and using him for se*. He has no problem paying for it from pros, but will not be used by her. I liked him more than her, but he rubbed me wrong too. They were both hard to like or relate too, so not my favorite characters. The book is well paced, steamy, and overall an OK read

This was just not the book for me. I liked that Gage helped Anna when she really needed it and thought they had very good chemistry together. I just thought Anna was exceptionally rude whenever she dealt with Gage. I also don’t like reading books that have cheating. I was happy that in the end Anna was able to be who she wanted and so was Gage.

He’s not who she thinks he is. She’s exactly who he thinks she is. And he knows exactly what she needs. Anna’s set to marry Julian. Their bond in marriage will make a business powerhouse. Until she meets Gage. He’s unlike anyone else in her life or her social circle. And he’s exactly what she needs. Holy hotness!! This is a steamy little number, but it’s not all about the sex. I love Gage – yeah, he’s got a checkered past, but he’s strong and smart, not afraid to admit his past mistake, knows what he wants, has a plan for his future. Anna leads a sheltered life, but she’s a likeable woman, and I like that she seeks out Gage, even before she openly realizes that he can give her what she needs (clear as mud, eh?). This is my first read in this series, but I’ve already purchased the first book and hope to get it read soon. It’s also my first book from this author, and I’m really impressed.

Steamy opposites-attract romance with a pinch of suspense
—>>> John Gage saves a gorgeous and clearly roofied woman from a really nasty situation and ends up on her bad side, never mind what had almost happened to her. But when Anna keeps coming back for more, even though she cannot seem to stand him, and she is engaged to another man of her own social circles, he just cannot seem to turn her away. Little did they realize, however, that someone has been keeping a very close and interested eye on her extracurricular activities, and hopefully, someone will be there to save Anna when they decidedly step up their game. Gage is the only man who seems to understand what she really needs, and getting married according to her family’s expectations and wishes is not what she really wants. Steamy opposites-attract romance with a pinch of suspense!
Big Bad Bouncer will grab you from the first line. The action and story line does not slow down for a moment.
Gage is an ex-con, he is big, scary, inked but his heart is bigger than he is. Anna comes from a prominent family, but even with all her wealth and advantages all she really wants to be is herself. Together Gage helps Anna dig deep into herself to become the person she desires to be.
This over the top story, has passion, heart and fear.

A new author to me. This story is about John and Anna. John is a bouncer at a club downtown. John notices 3 men taking to Anna in a limo and he thinks she may be drunk. He realized she had been roofied and confronts the men. One guy tossed her purse in limo and took off without her. She was complaining out of it so John takes her to his place to take care of her. In morning, she accused him of giving her drug, stealing her purse, having sex with her without consent and started throwing stuff like his favourite lamp. Things get complicated fast. A few twists and turns gives us a good story.

Anna was at a bar and a drug was slipped into her drink. Gage was the bouncer and stopped her from being taken and raped. They were from different worlds. In the end Gage is what Anna wanted for her life.

The second book in the Misters of Manhattan series a well written story. Annaliesa/Anna Cabot and John Gage’s story which I enjoyed seeing come together, she ended up with a lot of spankings. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This well written, short novel is about a wealthy young woman and a bouncer at a club. These well crafted characters meet when he rescues her from some men who have drugged her at the club and are trying to take her away. She is supposed to be marrying another man and well connected – but as she spends more time with Him, she realizes that marrying her fiancée would be a mistake. The development of the relationship between Anna and Gage, and the backstory of other events in their lives is interesting and fast moving, and the ending, while quick, and a must read.
