Betrayal has taken Taylor far beyond my reach. I can feel the bond stretched and twisted until it’s on the verge of snapping. But I will find her. She is mine as I am hers, and nothing will stop me from recovering my queen. I will always come for her. If she is hurt, I will heal her. If she is scared, I will wrap my arms around her, my embrace her safe harbor. And as for the ones who took her? I … I will destroy them all. Crossing the frozen heart of winter will be their final mistake. My fury will end the king beyond the mountain, and I will return to the winter realm with my queen by my side. A solid plan. One that would have worked. But when I reach the Gray Mountains, nothing is as it seems, and my mate faces a danger from the most insidious of foes—herself.
Lily’s Note: Beyond the Mountain concludes Leander and Taylor’s primary romance arc, but they will appear in future books. Book 5 begins Gareth and Beth’s story.

It took me 5 days to binge read the first 4 books in this series, and what a delightful escape.
Extremely well written, wonderfully complex characters, all the feels, laugh out loud situations that brought tears to my eyes and a driving need to devour every word of this fantastic journey.
I’m gonna have to take a break and adult for a few, but then I’m on to the next part of the series.
If you’re a lover of fantasy stories that entertain at every turn, with a little side of steamy romance, look no further. Trust me, there’s no disappointment in these pages!
This book was a roller coaster ride full of battles, humor and scenes so emotional that really grab your heart. Lily Archer knows how to weave a tale that sucks you in and keeps you interested and invested in the story and characters.
MacKenzie and Shane, the two narrators in this book, do such a great job with giving voices to all of the characters in this book. In addition to that, they are also able to convey so much emotion in scenes that brought me to tears at times. Both of them are perfectly suited for this series.
ACTION PACKED with twists n turns that’ll have your head spinning!!! AWESOME!!
I loved this series, I devoured the first three books within one or two days, it was so good! Which is saying a lot for me because I don’t usually do Fae books. But then there was a plot twist during book four and I just couldn’t find the interest to pick it back up again. It took me about three weeks to finish this book. I’d still say that I really enjoyed the series and would recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy romance, I just wasn’t that fond of the twist that happened. Glad I finished though, and can’t wait for Beth’s story!
Beyond the Mountain by Lily Archer is book 4 in the Fae’s Captive Series. This continues the story of Taylor and Leander, so you should read the previous books ‘Fae’s Captive’, ‘Road To Winter’ and ‘Bite Of Winter’ to fully enjoy this one. This book just as the other ones started where we left off in the previous book but with this book it wraps up their story. Although the Ms. Archer did leave me wanting to read more on Gareth and Beth.
For me this was a really good series and I hope to read more from this author.
Five stars for this one! I was really looking forward to this book release and honestly I loved it. Just when I thought I might figure things out Archer throws in a curve ball that I don’t see coming. Once again I’m sucked into her world where apparently anything can happen. Readers are finally given the HEA they have so patiently been waiting for as Leander and Taylor’s story comes to a conclusion, sort of. I feel like the way things ended could be left open to the possibility of continuing on their story more down the road. Maybe not right away since we will get to know more about Gareth and Beth next in the series. I for one can’t wait to see more of these two, especially since we got a sneak peek at the end of this book. With great characters and outstanding world building that will captivate your attention from page one and most importantly no cliff hanger at the end, I gladly rate this 5 stars and recommend to everyone looking for the next great series to get into!
