Theirs was a long, complicated story with a monster and a knight. What made their story unique was that these two players were the same person.—Aleatha Romig, CONVICTED

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review. I loved this entire series and this book is amazing!! You get to experience a beautiful story about love and caring for your partner after the horrors that happened in the past books. I never knew I needed this conclusion to the story because I love Aleatha’s writing and truly enjoyed the other books in this series, but now that I have read this book I feel the series is complete!!!
Loved it!
I wish my words were as eloquent as Aleatha Romig’s are, but unfortunately they are not so I will do my best to give her writing the justice it deserves. I laughed and I cried as my heart swelled with happiness and tears leaked down my face. I cried from the super sweet times and from the moments that broke my heart. Tony and Claire have a special place in my heart. I fell in love with this story after reading Consequences in early 2013. I was hooked and with each book I fell harder than the book before. This book is no exception. It tugs at your heart while giving you hope that a HEA does exist.
Beyond the Consequences -The Journey Continues was breathe taking and emotional. I found myself laughing one minute and crying the next. This story gave us the missing period from when Tony and Claire reunited for the final time until the birth of their sweet boy, Nathaniel.
As the life of the Rawlings continue, so do the emotional moments that make the readers love them more with each additional book of this series. Aleatha’s brilliant writing keeps true to her characters- not changing them but simple improving them to the characters we have all come to love and cherish.
Tony is still dominating, arrogant, and in complete control but now our alpha possesses a side that very few have witnessed, a soft and caring side. Claire is the soft sweet woman of before but now she is more bold and cheeky with a spunky side. Claire still holds the power to ignite and extinguish her alpha husband with her “smart mouth”. She no longer fears his anger but embraces his emotions, confronting and guiding him to face what he fears.
Aleatha also gave a little extra with the POV of other characters we have come to love and a new one that will definitely change the life of one of our favorites. Maybe one day she will consider giving us a few of the other characters a chance to tell their story. I think many have a lot to say- but for now I am happy with all the new revelations’ of the Rawlings’ and their family and friends.
Once again, Aleatha did an amazing job with Beyond The Consequences- The Journey Continues giving us insight in the lives of so many we love without reliving their past. Aleatha Romig is a talented writer who will only soar higher as an author as her writing career continues
I have been trying to find the words for this review. I have two opinions on this book, and I teetered on which way this review should go. So I will give you both.
I will start off with what I expected from this book…
If you have read the entire series so far, you are most likely wondering who was writing the notes and sending the packages to Claire and Tony… This is a piece of the puzzle that was never resolved. Well, this piece is multi-layered, and you do get answers and a resolution. However, I really thought this is what the book would revolve around. I was looking forward to it. Well, this is just a tiny blip in the book. You find out the who. It’s even taken care of. It really is that simple in the book. I thought for sure we would get a little more meat and potatoes on this. Maybe some twists and turns. A little bit of the shock value, maybe. And then in the end, they all live happily ever after…
What I got in this book….
This is the part that is hard for me. While the book is resolving left over issues, lightly, it is also giving you a glimpse into the life after the story… Hence the name of the book. For me, being that it is Aleatha, is was too light and soft. I have come to expect more grit from her. Although, I did enjoy learning about Claire and Tony as parents. Seeing them move forward was sweet. Then introducing us to a new character along with Phil and Eric was a nice little bonus too.
I will admit, since there wasn’t much plot twists to keep my mind racing, the book moved slow for me. I did have a hard time staying focused. Maybe that’s because I was expecting something a little different from what it actually was. Who knows.
The book itself is written in true Aleatha form though. I can still hear her voice in her writing, but it’s her tamer voice. Who knew she had one! haha. It flowed and allowed you to see the characters in a different light from what you have seen in the past. Some don’t like the new version of the characters. I am not sure what I think of them. However, the only character that seemed to not change at all is Emily. I still can’t stand her. She never did redeem herself in my eyes.
There were many heart melting parts in the book. This isn’t your heart-pounding wtf book; this is the awww that is so sweet and wonderful book. It really did take me by surprise. The interactions in the story are so well written, I did feel like I was in the story, as I have in the past with Aleatha’s books.
And now for the big finish… My rating. I still can’t figure out how to rate this book. The writing is phenomenal, as always. My hang-up, obviously is the change in plot-style. I am trying really hard to look past the whole HEA throughout the entire book… With that being said, I am giving this a 3.5-4 stars. I just can’t seem to give this book a solid rating. Many LOVED it. Whereas, I liked it. Many will not be disappointed in this book. They will be pleased with Claire and Tony’s happily ever after. If you have read the rest of the series, you really should read this book!
Loved the series and I read all the books but this book was a big disappointment. The female character was so weak-minded. While I appreciate a great alpha male character, that wasn’t him. Love the author and her writings but this book was a disappointment and waste of money.
I loved the series, it was by far one of the most angst filled book I read during 2016. It was more than a 5* read. The twist, turns, secrets this series had it all…buuuuuuuut… it should have finished after book 3. It should have been left as a trilogy. Books 4 or 5 brought nothing new to the party.
I’m sure I read somewhere that this started off as a novella, it should have stayed as such. This book starts off after Claire, Anthony and Nichol are reunited as a family. Soon after they start receiving anonymous packages. This is a bit old hat… this was used in book 3. It didn’t take long to work out who was the sender of the packages. Maybe it was just me but this scenario was quickly resolved by Phil and dealt with. It felt a little pointless and overkill to what was a great intricately woven story. So I was left feeling like the words were a page filler!
I had to read this book, I just couldn’t carry on knowing there was more Tony I was missing out on. After finishing I felt a bit disheartened as I felt I was reading it for the sake of reading it just because I’m a FOMO.
Sorry Aleatha, your writing is exceptional and I will be reading your other book but please listen to your head when you think a series is done!
This was the last book in this series and it was unbelievable with twists and turns and surprises every step of the way. I loved the Fidelity series a lot but this one I could read over and over again. Bravo!!!. Beyond the Consequences, is a peek into the future of the lives of Claire and Tony Rawlings and as usual this book as all the twists and turns and intrigue as only Aleatha can do but if you really want to know what happens in this book, you have to buy and read it. It is awesome and has all the elements of our master storyteller Aleatha. Has they say, have you been Aleatha’d yet and she never disappoints!!!
