“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Oh, how I love these Lost King MC characters. Each book introduces me to a new character or gives me more info about an existing one, and I love them too. As the family grows, so does my addiction to this series.
Beyond Reason is part two of Teller’s story. So make sure you read Beyond Reckless first. I’m sure that most reading this review already have, so you know that Teller is Heidi’s brother. Teller’s baby sister is married to his best friend Murphy. They’ve all three known each other from childhood, so you can imagine the hilarious banter they throw back and forth. I found them highly entertaining and they gave me many giggles throughout the book. Which was really nice as the hard stuff got harder. The author tackles some serious situations that fueled my anger and had my heart hurting.
Teller is still recovering from his injury and working his way back to being able to ride with his brothers. His relationship with Charlotte has brought light back into his dark world. He’s found something to smile about again. The only problem is her affiliation with a rival club. She can’t help who she’s related to, but it sure makes it hard to trust her. How will he be able to convince his brothers that she’s trustworthy? Well, there’s always the #TawnyTest, right?
I’ve been #TeamTeller from the get-go. Yeah, I admit I was a little peeved at him when he didn’t jump on board as soon as I wanted when his baby sister fell in love. But that’s typical older brother behavior, always protective, never considering anyone good enough. Do you think it’s karma when he ends up in a similar situation? Falling for a girl and having to convince his club that she’s good enough? Well, you are in for a treat, because she handles that pretty well all by herself. One of my favorite Lost King memories is how Wrath gave Hope such a hard time when she fell for the club president. He pushed her hard and had me ranting at him for being such a jerk. Well, let’s just say that he hasn’t changed… Charlotte might be able to prove her loyalty to the club if she can survive the wrath of Wrath.
As Charlotte continues to see Teller, against her family’s wishes, secrets start to unravel. Pushing for the truth can sometimes be more than you can handle, but there’s no turning back time. Will she be able to live with the answers to the questions that have tormented her for years? Will the reality be worse than her fears? Will knowing the truth help her to move on, or keep her from moving on?
What a ride the author took me on. I really love how the author explains her thought process as the story is developing and shares it with her readers at the end of her books. It takes me to another level as I consider the different scenarios she mentions and the possibilities for future books gets me excited. I still don’t know what direction she’s going to go, but I can’t wait to find out. The line forms here…
Another book about Teller and his lady love. Don’t miss it!
I really liked Teller and Charlotte’s story. I also always love your “Authors Notes”. And I have read “White Knuckles” My favorite!!
This is part 2 of Teller’s story. I just keep falling more in love with the Lost Kings!!!!
This whole series is amazing and each book is better than the last…I can’t wait to see what Autumn brings next!
Oh Teller! We finally get to see Teller have a relationship. There are rogh patches to overcome but I love reading more about Teller. Love this book so much!
OMG, I can’t believe I’m all caught up with the series now! (Been binging on these books the past couple weeks, thanks to a fantabulous friend of mine.)
Teller & Charlotte were so great together! They went through even more drama, more sexy horizontal mambos & more jerkface interferences in this second part of their story. And the fact that they got TWO epilogues, with specific & satisfying details… Woot-woot! If memory recalls, these might be the best epilogues of the bunch, so far. #TotallyUnputdownable
Let’s see… who else…
Carter… Still love this guy. Would love to see more of him in the future; especially after seeing him & his “Titanic moment” in this one.
Serena… I hope that girl gets lost. Every time her names comes up, I cringe. She needs to get the idea of heading upstate out of her head, permanently.
Wrath… a big SCREW YOU to him. Saying “no” the first time… *waves middle finger in the air* Charlotte & Teller may have said they understood but I was still ticked off at him.
Once again, so curious to see what’s next plot-wise for the Lost Kings. Porn star babysitting, figuring out what’s going on with Z, rebuilding the gym… The wait begins. *sigh*
Side note: WTF is this “they’re going through some stuff” crap between Rock & Hope? My heart is leaning towards them having a hard time conceiving but man… NEED more deets on them & a pregnancy announcement for them, STAT!
I absolutely loved this book. I couldn’t put it down. Loved how Teller finally found his forever girl, Charlotte. Teller would give his life for his girl and his family. He is a tough guy but yet with a gentle heart. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I love how Autumn tells the story of Teller and his relationship with his sister, Heidi and Murphy and all his brothers. So glad that Teller finally found someone to spend his life with. And it touched my heart how he also took Carter under his wing. Love Love this series!!!!!
Part 2 of Teller’s story and like the first, I absolutely loved it!
Teller and Charlotte are totally made for each other in every way. Not only do they connect sexually but also emotionally. They really had each others backs, knowing exactly what the other needed.
Teller is so sexually charged, I loved that Charlotte could not only match him but give as good as she gets!
Part 2 really saw their relationship grow and develop, so much so, its safe to say they look like their sticking it out for the long haul?
Again, Autumn J Lake gives her readers something gritty and exciting! She always likes to try and bamboozle her readers with WHAT THE’S????? But netherless we/I never finish her books disappointed!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if you haven’t read this series… what are you waiting for??? 5 stars for everything about this!
Man I love this series!! I started out with Rock being my BBF, then I wavered to Wrath, now it’s Teller, so I’ve decided since it’s all in my mind, I want them all!! And I’m sure as other LOKI members get to share the limelight with their own book I will fall for them too!! The characters have their own personalities that makes me love them or hate them or somewhere in between. I had so many emotions while reading the second part of Teller’s book. Anger and fear and laughing out loud and at times I had tears rolling down my face. The author tackles the subject of rape and it was artfully done. Because I also participated in #MeToo this part really touched my heart and hurt it too. I really can’t pick a favorite part of this book because the whole book was absolutely fabulous!! I highly recommend this book and of course the whole series!! I wish I could experience this whole series all over again!! It’s that special!!! So lose yourself in this book and immerse yourself in the best MC series EVER!!! It will hold your attention from beginning until end. You are definitely in for an AWESOME treat. Enjoy!!
I absolutely love this entire series! Please keep writing…these bad boy bikers and their old ladies are like family!
This story man, what an amazing story this was, right from the first book Beyond Reckless your hooked and just crave for each page to turn and bring you more and more happiness. You really get into the story and everything starts to piece together more and more, like at the start you really don’t like Teller but then the end hits you and your like wow I really love Teller and must have some more of him please. The emotions that this story embarks you on you is over the top great, from the highs and the lows you can’t help but feel everything they feel. As much as you feel for the characters a lot of tears have been formed. Teller makes the most of it however and seems to make everything right in the world, seems everyone should have a Teller rather its just friends or a lover some part of him should be in every man made. Alpha males in this story 10 fold, it hits you and hits your hard the love they have for the women they love and there family. I couldn’t believe how in sync and in tune Teller and Charlotte “Sunshine” are with each other, ones sad and angry the other knows. The chemistry between them is out of this world hott, I mean panty melting, sweaty palms hott, can’t get your clothes off fast enough to cool down hott. I really loved them together even through the good and bad, they just seemed to make it work more so then the other couples. I still love me some Wrath but Teller is up there with him. As much as the ending was coming up I didn’t want it to end hell I still can’t believe such an amazing story is over. I so cannot wait for more. The ending was amazing and couldn’t have been written any better hell the whole story was great Autumn really did this phenomenal job with the story line and writing. She kept the flow going really great not to fast or slow and was super easy to understand, She wrote it like you were actually living it or being told face to face what was happening. Really magic way of getting the right words on paper. I so recommend everyone read this series, fall in love with LOKI and don’t look back. Its amazing, great and wonderful all in between to covers that you don’t want to miss. MUST READ!!!
**I received this ARC for free in exchange for my honest thoughts**
Autumn Jones Lake delivers again! Her story is the perfect mix of sexy romance and adventure. She is a great storyteller and Beyond Reason is another compelling story of one of the Loki bad boys that deep down are really heroes!
I loved this book It’s the best of the Lost Kings series
Wow, this series is one that I have fallen in love with but Beyond Reckless and Beyond Reason have become my favorites which I didn’t think possibly after falling in love with Murphy. These two books have kept me on the edge of my seat and completely immersed into the story trying to figure out all the answers to the questions and secrets that are going on. Not only that but reading about the characters trying to navigate their new relationship was something that I truly enjoyed. These two were amazing together and I absolutely fell in love with not only the characters but the story line as well. Autumn Jones Lake did a great job with these two books and I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!!!
Awesome loved the whole thing
Freaking AMAZING book!!! Love Teller and Charlotte!! Wow! What a wild ride those 2 have been on! And an incredible ending to their story. Teller was arrogant in the beginning of his book and a lot of it had to do with the accident. He was grumpy and depressed but as he and Charlotte’s relationship developed he turned into such an amazing guy. I love the trash talking the entire MC say to each other. It’s hilarious! I’m so in love with this entire MC! This series so far is one of my all time favorite MC series!
These books are a very good read, but a little too steamy.
I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!! Cant wait for more!!!!
Irrevocably Soul Piercing & Fiercely Brave. A Must Read… “Beyond Reason” is the eleventh installment and ninth full-length book of Autumn Jones Lake’s, Lost Kings MC series. It is the completion of Teller and Charlotte’s story. It is also, in my opinion, one of the most authentic, unapologetically brave installments within the series thus far. And in all honesty I’m unsure I can write a review that does it proper justice or isn’t stained deeply in my own heart’s blood, as this one, this small section of time within the LOKI universe hit so very close to home for me I had to put it down and catch my breath once I fully understood were Lake was heading.
Furthermore, before I go any further, know this; this book will stir reactions and feelings within you beyond what you may be prepared to endure. It will violently stamp itself onto your soul and make you weep in both heartbreak and rage for Charlotte, and shout vengeance filled screams of joy at Teller’s fierceness in her defense despite harboring his own demons, and it will make you fall deeper in love with the bikers of the Lost Kings MC even more. If it doesn’t you simply have no soul…
Autumn Lake’s storytelling is always exceptional, but here it is truly exquisite. Her portrayal of Charlotte and Teller’s journey, both as individuals and as a couple, beautiful. This series installment, their story, is irrevocably soul piercing. The empathy and protection Teller affords Charlotte leaves you aching – this man – struggling, deeply pained from his own guilt, and inner turmoil, working so hard to avenge, and care for Charlotte, beyond breathtaking. Moreover, Charlotte’s strength and fiery determination to understand and resolve her past, to understand and bring to the light what was done to her, despite her fear and uncertainty, fearless and untainted. Lake writes her as the unadulterated warrior she is, and portrays her and Teller with an honesty very few authors are brave enough to do. She creates a story that illustrates a love born from shared pain and family experiences beyond normal mortal comprehension but absolutely beautiful and unbreakable nonetheless.
Lake’s writing here, her methodical attention to detail, deeply personal character development, and emotional richness, sets this series far, far apart from every other MC series out there. And THIS particular installment, a LOKI story unlike all the others in the series thus far, made my soul shudder.
I have to be truthful and say, this one was difficult for me to read. The subject matter of violent abuse Lake tackles horrific, triggering things deep within me long ago dealt with and put away. I related to this story in more ways than I can adequately explain here; my story, my own childhood of abuse, surrounded by addiction and bad behavior fashioned me in related ways to Charlotte and led me to connect to this story in ways far beyond what Lake probably intended. And reading Merlin’s portrayal of how her mother betrays her own daughter, in ways so eerily similar to my own experience, damn unnerving to read and made me weep, deep, stomach churning sobs of despair for what Charlotte endured at the hands of her own blood. But despite the trauma, and just like Trinity’s and Wrath’s story, this one is powerful and necessary, as it cements firmly the very ground on which the Lost King’s moral code and brotherhood are built: Love. Loyalty. Family. Above all else. Blood or money, no exceptions…
I’ve said this many times before within the 6000 plus words worth of reviews I have dedicated to the LOKI universe thus far; this book is yet another testament to how exceptional of an author Autumn Jones Lake truly is. Lake’s honest, unapologetic portrayal of dysfunction and emotional brokenness is unparalleled. I wish more authors were as brave in their subject matter as she is. Her authenticity refreshing and essential in today’s sugar-coated, politically correct world, something I write about often in my reviews and other writings. And in my 45 years on this planet I have found very few authors who capture the level of realness broken souls like myself live in. Which is why, despite the subject matter, this book is so important, and authors like Lake so very needed.
