What an amazing read. Tomas and Caroline are just delectable. He makes me want my own pakhan and I just want to squeeze her. There wasn’t a single moment where I thought of not finishing this book. I actually didn’t want it to end. The writing and flow of this book is top notch. I absolutely recommend this book.
Tomas is the pakhan of the Boston Bratva. Caroline is the sister of a leader in the San Diego Bratva. Her brother hates her and believes she is nothing but a scarred, stupid bitch. In order to fulfill a debt, he surreptitiously marries her off to strong, dominant Tomas. Will Tomas accept her despite her scar? Will Caroline learn to obey? Will they come to care for each other?
This is another exciting and enticing dark Bratva romance by Jane Henry that kept me on the edge of my seat. I was thoroughly impressed by Tomas’ control and dominance and intrigued by Caroline’s insecurity, combined with her sassy stubbornness. And, I love the way Ms. Henry is able to bring out the dark, delightful, and enticingly erotic behavior in each of these two characters. Read for yourself to see!
I found myself deeply under this books thrall. I loved the chemistry between Tomas and Caroline and the complexity of their story. Lots of tension, intensity, drama, powerful emotions and steam are woven throughout this engaging read. I really loved the arranged marriage angle and I greatly enjoyed witnessing the evolution of these characters, their feelings and their relationship.
What are you doing to me Jane Henry? I’m exhausted from reading this book in one sitting. I should know better than to start your books in the evening, but this book was outstanding and I could not put it down. Tomas and Caroline were fantastic characters, he was a pakhan of the Boston Bratva, she is the sister of an abusive, Bratva brigadier in San Diego. To settle a debt owed by her brother, Caroline becomes Tomas’ bride. She assumes she’ll be going to one abusive, horrendous situation to another, but Tomas is not like her brother. I loved the push and pull of their growing relationship, his alpha nature, her fight. Their chemistry is unreal. The book moves quickly, draws you in, and holds you tight. Tomas and Caroline are perfect together! Awesome Read.
Recieved an ARC and this is my honest review.
Beyond Measure is the second book in the Ruthless Doms series. Tomas is the leader of his Bratva and decides an arranged marriage would benefit him. Caroline is given up by her brother to settle his debt, scarred inside and out, she just wants someone to want her for her. But will Tomas be the Beast to Caroline’s fairy tale, or has she traded one domineering family for another?
Oh. My. Goodness!! My heart was simultaneously pounding and melting while reading Tomas and Caroline’s romance! There’s definitely dark aspects to this story, but oh my, it’s also so sweet! I absolutely loved this book! Tomas was interesting because he held so much power and respect, but was almost intimidated by having a wife. He couldn’t decide his strategy, did he want to woo her or scare her, did he want her love in addition to owning her – these are some questions he struggled with, and it was wonderful to read. Caroline, poor, sweet Caroline, her backstory just about broke my heart, but I loved her fire! She wasn’t going to go down without fighting, even if she didn’t understand what she was fighting. I absolutely loved that they often felt the same thing, but responded in different ways, or that they would approach the same obstacle just in different directions. Their relationship was lovely, heart pounding, intense, and so steamy! The drama in this book with her brother had me turning pages just as quickly, too! Once I started this book, I did NOT want to put it down, and I just loved this book! I highly recommend any and all of Ms. Henry’s Bratva stories!
Jane Henry’s latest addition to the Ruthless Doms series was an absolutely entertaining read. In it, we get to see the more personal side of Tomas, Boston’s pakhan, as he reluctantly agrees to an arranged marriage. Caroline is sweet and caring and the perfect balance to Tomas’ darker side. And, okay, she also likes parts of his darker side. Sparks fly when these two meet and the development of their relationship was so much fun to read. As this is part of a series, we also get to visit with some of the other characters from the other books, which makes it feel so much more familiar. And well, the naughty bits will bring a catch to your breath and a bit of sweat to your brow. I’m really enjoying Ms. Henry’s Bratva stories and every time I think I’ve settled on my favorite story, she sets the bar that much higher and I end up with a new favorite.
I have read all of Ms. Henry’s Bratva books and Beyond Measure is another good addition. It stands alone but I do recommend reading Priceless so that you understand the other members of the Bratva brotherhood. Tomas is the leader of the Boston group and has a debt to collect from the San Diego leader. He is offered his sister as a bride in exchange for the debt. Tomas doesn’t know her and only one old teenage photograph is available but he accepts the offer because it is time for a man in his position to marry and he assumes that she will be agreeable to the Bratva life since she has grown up in it. Caroline hates her life. Her brother has treated her badly but since her parents are dead she has no choice but to live in her nightmare. He informs her one day that he has bartered her away for marriage and even though she hates the idea of marrying a man that she doesn’t know there is no escape. I really enjoyed the story of this stern taskmaster and the girl with a poor self image finding their place together. Beyond Measure is told from dual POV and is gritty, spicy and will keep you turning the pages!
Wasn’t what I was expecting at all, as the Pakhan Tomas is expected to be strong, fearless and obeyed immediately with respect. He doesn’t go about his marriage in the way I expected. He knows how to get what he wants in surprising ways.
Caroline has been abused and scarred by her life in the Bratva, not the place she wants to live her life but she sees no hope of a better life.
These two had chemistry from the beginning and I loved how they learned and interacted with each other
Have to say I never expected to love a series like this, just goes to show that great writing can pull me into the story, no matter what.
And I’m already ready for more……certain side characters need a story too
Amazing and Intense!
This was a fantastic story that kept me on the edge of my seat with anticipation of what was going to happen next. There was action, suspense, intrigue and a whole lot of steamy moments that will have you panting!!!
Tomas and Caroline may not have had a very romantic beginning (being forced to marry someone you don’t even know is a hard way to start a relationship) but they were definitely made for each other. Caroline has a dark and tragic past but with Tomas’ help she opens up and becomes the woman that he needs her to be. She becomes his other half and the perfect wife. Their moments together are explosive and very heated. It was everything you hoped it would be.
Loved every second of it. Highly recommend.
Caroline is at the mercy of her brother and his best friend. Her brother decides to give her up as payment on a debt. Will this be a better alternative for her?
Tomas is the Bostan pakhan and now Caroline’s future husband. He is a Dominant, commanding and ruthless leader. Will he treat her better than her brother ever did?
These two are phenomenal together. He wants her obedience but is realizing that her past is something he never expected. She thinks that he’ll be just as horrible as her brother and his best friend, but he truly cares and protects her.
I enjoyed this book emencly! The trust and love between these two characters is amazing. I love that we get not only an epilogue but an extended epilogue, with more juicy bits than usual.
I Love this world and don’t think I will ever get enough its exciting and addicting on every page. The Pakhan Tomas Is fierce and so protective and I love him to death and with Caroline coming into his life feeling worthless and unwanted pressing all his buttons was exciting and hot. They had such a connection and just completed each other showing their is hope. When you think theirs none when the right person is accepting. Full of so much sadness and danger and promise and I truly loved this one.
