Kara is every good and bad thing that ever happened to me, wrapped up in one indecipherable package. Our story is a slow dance of seduction. She’s woven through my life as much as I am hers, pieces of each other sprinkled across time. The truth of our families should have kept us apart. My father, a drunk and a cheat. Her mother, his mistress with a taste for decadence. And the two of us, nothing more … decadence.
And the two of us, nothing more than sacrificial pawns.
Throughout it all, life kept bringing us back together.
We fought our parents. We fought fate.
Maybe it’s time we fight for each other, instead…
”…a modern day star-crossed lover story.”
This character driven age-gap/forbidden contemporary romance can be read as a standalone, but for the most enjoyment, read the Hutton Family series in order.

So hard to put into words they way this story just grabbed my heart and tugged me through this emotional journey. Wyatt and Kara are both so beautifully broken yet amazingly strong, my heart aches for the way they are used by their parents, yet also rejoices at they way they find their true strength in each other. Loved this journey from beginning to end and looking forward to visiting the Hutton family again.
Beyond Love is a beautifully written love story that will tug at your heart the whole way through. This is the story of Wyatt and Kara, who meet each other under a very strange and difficult situation. Even though they both start out hating and resenting each other, their relationship continues to grow throughout the whole story. These are two people that are having to grow up under some very difficult and stressful situations and the way that they keep turning up and being there for each other was wonderful to see. Considering all the obstacles these two had to overcome to learn to fully trust and love each other makes this a story that you just can’t put down until the very end.
Beyond Love is another heartfelt, touching romance from Abby Brooks. I think Wyatt may have just climbed his way to the top of my “Abby Brooks Heroes” list. It was impossible to resist his protective nature and the way he loves fiercely. And Kara was such a strong sassy heroine. There was no denying she was the perfect fit for Wyatt.
Not only is Beyond Love an amazing enemies to lovers romance, but the family aspect truly rounded out the story. A series of standalones that follow members of a family are a favorite of mine and Abby Brooks has a magical talent when it comes to creating an honestly flawed but loving family.
I really can’t wait for the next Hutton Family book! They are becoming one of my favorite fictional families to read about. If the Hut was real, I would definitely be planning to spend my next vacation there.
I read and reviewed this book voluntarily.
This is book 2 in the Hutton Family Series.
Wyatt was forced to keep his father’s secret. In doing so he met Kara. They hated each other. They shouldn’t work.
This boom takes place over years. Wyatt and kara meet when she is 16 and he is 21, and the boom ends about 6 years later I believe.
Kara’s mom Madeline and Wyatts dad Burke had an affair. He supported her life style paid for everything and needed whyatt to help him bury the missing funds in the books.
Kara and wyatt’s story really begins when they meet, but in time he seems to be the o e getting her out of situations because her mother isn’t available to help her.
They will go long periods of time without seeing each other, but always seem to go to each other when they need someone, or something. Over the years they have pieces of each other and are under each other’s skin, in each other’s hearts.
An overhead conversation will cause Wyatt to say terrible things to Kara, and the 2 of them suffer. Will Wyatt be able to find a way to tell her the love he has for her, how sorry he is and win her back?
I loved this book. Must read.
Wow! What an emotional and attention grabbing book! The story of Wyatt and Kara is very touching. They both come from troubled parents and their ability to trust others is not there. But love does not chose perfect people. It chooses anyone at anytime. They both suffer with the idea of loving each other when their families should not cross paths again.
Abby has a way of continuing to write her books with so much emotion that you feel like you are a spectator the whole time you are reading them. Well done! Love the Hutton family and this book has knocked it out of the park!
Beyond Love is a fitting title for the latest book in the Hutton family series.
Wyatt and Kara’s tumultuous start is the result of two broken families pasts and presents and futures.
Not given much of choice in the matter they’re bound together in some harsh and unforgiving ways, yet the connection between them is not always a hateful one…
Lies, complex emotions, family manipulations, heartbreak, and growing stronger through the betrayal these two would be nemesis are in for the good fight of minds, hearts, and souls.
Beautifully heartbreaking with a maddening, but real piecing back together, Wyatt and Kara’s passionate hits you in the feels story was a cover to digital cover read for me!
I walked away from this book, feeling like I knew these characters personally and had shared in their darkness as well as the light- Abby Brooks has a talent for creating down to earth, flawed characters that I would love to meet in real life ( even if they drive me crazy!!)
Another stellar out of this world story that just feels like it needed to be read- now I highly suggest you check it out for yourself! It’s a no holds barred emotional real fest thats worth the time spent!
Whoa Nelly! Now THAT is what I call a true, romantic struggle. Seriously, Wyatt and Kara beat ALL of the odds to be together. Amazing read!
No relationship should be built on lies and deceit, no parent should ever intentionally hurt their children. Unfortunately Wyatt has spent his life surrounded by a father who used him, while making a family with another woman and her daughter. Wyatt and Kara despise each other, each having their own reasons, but being thrown together time and time again leads to an understanding that they both have terrible parents. But when the budding friendship leads to so much more will the truth hurt everyone around them? Can Wyatt finally find happiness with his father’s mistress’ daughter? Lines will be crossed and emotions run high in this wonderful Hutton Family drama. Once again Abby Brooks creates a world filled with beautifully written characters that you cannot help but fall in love with.
Beyond Love is a poignant story that will tug on your heart string. The love between the Hutton Family is like a code that could never be broken. They embrace, cheer, support, and lean on each other for everything, good or bad. The relationship between Wyatt and Kara starts under some very strange circumstances. Lies that Wyatt has to keep from his mother and his siblings because of his alcoholic father. It’s hate and resentment at first for Wyatt and Kara but that hate turns into a beautiful love story. Family is one of the most important gift in life, Wyatt has his family’s support, he can be free from the lies and betrayal caused by his father and he can love Kara freely without restraints.
Oh my poor Wyatt. He is the keeper of all his father’s dirty secrets and with that comes so much guilt. His struggle is just heartbreaking and yet despite all the things he has endured at the hands of his father Wyatt is still such an amazing man who put his hatred aside and was there for Kallie when she needed someone. Their story is just so special and sweet with a little bit of forbidden in there. I really love this series and this family and cannot wait for more.
We knew things weren’t good with head of the Hutton household Burke Hutton via Book 1 Beyond Words and now we find out just how awful the man was especially for what he did to Wyatt. I really liked how we first see how things were when Wyatt and the others were younger and how Burke was so manipulative and how Kara met Wyatt, then to the present and the fall out of Burke’s death. This is definitely an emotional book with how both Wyatt and Kara were put in impossible positions at a younger age and how a parent can be cruel so be ready for highs and lows, anger and loss as well as a good few laughs as Wyatt and Kara navigate their unusual relationship that they both resent but can’t help but build on.
