New York Times bestselling author Kat Martin brings page-turning suspense to a tale of secrets and passions turned deadly . . . Texas mogul Beau Reese is furious. All six feet three obscenely wealthy, good-looking inches of him. His sixty-year-old father, Stewart, a former state senator no less, has impregnated a teenager. Barely able to contain his anger, Beau is in for another surprise. It … Beau is in for another surprise. It appears that Stewart has moved an entirely different woman into the house . . .
Beau assumes that stunning Cassidy Jones is his father’s mistress. At least she’s of age. But those concerns take a sudden backseat when he finds Stewart in a pool of blood on the floor of his study—and Cassidy walks in to find Beau with his hand on the murder weapon.
The shocks just keep coming. Someone was following Stewart, and Cassidy is the detective hired to find out who and why. Now she’ll have to find his killer instead. Her gut tells her it wasn’t Beau. And Beau’s instincts tell him it wasn’t Cassidy. Determined to track down the truth, they form an uneasy alliance—one that will bring them closer to each other—closer to danger and beyond . . .

I haven’t read this author in a while and forgot how much I enjoy her. Another great read!
Former top-rated pro am race car driver and now co-owner of a billion dollar company, Texas American Enterprises, Beau Reese is furious at his father, recently retired state senator Stewart Beaumont Reese, when he learns that his father has impregnated a girl young enough to be his granddaughter. As he had been a lousy father, Beau wants to take care of the girl and baby and tells his father that he will have papers drawn up granting the mother, Missy Kessler sole custody and that Beau will take care of his sibling and the mother. His father has no problem with that, and apparently has a new “babe” who he claims is his new personal assistant. The “assistant” is actually, PI Cassidy Jones, who Stewart hired because he believed he was being followed. When Beau returns the next day, he finds his father on the floor with a letter opener sticking out of his heart. Without thinking (never remove a protruding object unless you are medically trained or touch a murder weapon), he pulls the letter opener out and tries to do compression. Of course that’s when Cassidy walks in. 911 is called, but of course he does not survive. Beau is now the main suspect and he hires Cassidy to help him find the murder. Beau has never gotten over losing his college sweetheart to cancer and has vowed never to put himself out there again. But he is so attracted to Cassidy and the feelings are reciprocated. Cassidy knows the Beau is still in love with Sarah and she is not a long-term kind of girl. But as they work together and the danger increases, so does their need for each other. Will they be able to walk away when the case is solved?
Another exciting book by Kat Martin. Her characters are always fascinating and well developed. Searching for the real killer leads into more danger and a tangled web with a surprise ending.
I’m a huge fan of Sandra Brown and Kat Martin, and it’d been quite a bit of time since I’d picked up a book by either. Question: WHAT WAS I THINKING??
There’s a reason that Kat and Sandra are just a few of the prominent queens of the Romantic Suspense genre.
Beyond Danger was everything I wanted in an RS book: Suspenseful, sexy, action-packed and full of spine-tingling mystery that made turning the pages as easy as pie.
This book warmed me, made me laugh, clutch my pearls and swoon. I’m already on to the next book in the Texas Trilogy by Kat. Loved every minute of this
Kat Martin never disappoints & this book is no exception! It has wonderful characters, romance, suspense, action to keep your interest from start to finish!! A definite must read!!
Awesome 2nd book in Kat Martin’s romantic suspense series, Texas Trilogy! This was a nonstop thrill ride from beginning to end with exciting plot twists and fascinating characters. Having been thoroughly enthralled by both Beyond Reason and Beyond Danger, I eagerly look forward to reading the 3rd book, Beyond Control.
Kat Martin writes great romantic suspense! I loved this book. Great engaging story, good plot and characters. There was the perfect mix of romance and mystery. Loved it!
Beau Reece was a lot of things in his life. Troubled juvenile. Racing legend. Successful businessman. One description he did not think he would have is “murder suspect.” Found over his father’s stabbed body by PI Cassidy Jones, the authorities are certainly eyeing him up for the crime. Cassidy, however, is eyeing him up for other reasons….
Kat Martin delivers plenty of action, suspense and romance in her second Texas Trilogy book! The blurb for the book gives you the outline of the plot, but it’s all the additional scenes that make this book an enjoyable read. Both Beau and Cassidy are not only attractive and likeable characters, they are interesting and smart on the page as well. Ms. Martin has written two protagonists who, as they go their investigation, take the reader along on a quite a twisting and turning plot. The who-done-it part of the story was a puzzle that kept me intrigued to the end. Although you think you know who the bad guy is, that revelation does not diminish the suspense but seems to dial it up a notch! And the romance – *whew* – the chemistry between Beau and Cassidy spark across the pages. I really, really loved these two characters.
Although Beau was first introduced in Linc’s book, Beyond Reason, this book can standalone – but believe me, you will want to read the first book too! I have always enjoyed this author’s books, but with this series, Ms.Martin has her romance suspense game on!
Kat write a great book to read in doctors office
Loved it! Could not put it down.
This series is good but not her best.
Kat Martin writes some of the best books ever. She is a favorite of mine.
Love anything by Kat Martin.
i enjoyed this book,,,fast reading, romance and mystery
Loved it, loved the way it was written. I would like to read more of her romance suspense. I don’t like to read about children being hurt and I will only read happy ending.thank you.
Adventure and romance
Wonderful read. Ms. Martin puts her own spin on this #2 Triology romance Suspense. Every time you think Beau Reese & PI Cassidy Jones have gotten ahead to finding out who killed Beau’s father, Senator Stewart Reese, some other crook pops up to add to the list of characters awaiting to take his place as a suspect & Beau & Cassidy wind up in the line of fire. Will the further Beau & Cassidy get to becoming added to the list of the deceased for getting too close to the truth, or pull their lives apart no matter how hot their attraction is. Am looking forward to #3 of the Trilogy winding up with Linc’s brother, Josh Cain, wounded ex-army sharp shooter. All the books in the Trilogy can be read as a stand-alone & HEA but better if read together.
I was very disappointed in this latest Kat Martin book. I am a fan of Martin and her suspense novels which would bring you into the story keeping you in a state of what is going to happen next. Beyond Danger fell flat for me. Perhaps if there was more suspense and less sexual situations, graphic imagination by the characters of sexual body descriptions and graphic descriptions of high end cars this would have been a good book. Private Investigator Cassidy Jones is hired by ex-Senator Stewart Reese to investigate who is following him and why. Cassidy meets Beau Reese, his son when he comes to the house to have a talk with his father and of course he thinks Cassidy his father’s latest fling. Stewart is murdered and Beau is the main suspect. There is not a spoiler but I did think Beau acted as dumb as a rock for someone who is supposed to be brilliant and worth billions. Sadly, this is the first Martin book that I did not like one character. You can read this book and skip over the adult subject matter to enjoy the suspense portion of the story. Warning: Adult Sexual Content and subject matter
Absolutely loved this book!!! Kept me up until I finished it Kat Martin is an awesome writer, all her books are keepers to be read over and over!!!!!
Love her books
Beyond Danger enthralls readers with lots of suspense and a romance that begins with a very uneasy alliance.
First, let me just say that the romance between Beau and Cassidy is one that is a sizzling and heated one that keeps readers guessing throughout the story. Both characters are strong and appealing which draws readers into their story and the romance is a roller coaster ride of turbulence that keeps readers glued to the pages.
Anticipation steadily builds throughout the story, not only in regards to the romance but the danger and excitement that stems from nefarious characters that are dead set on keeping Cassidy and Beau from learning their secrets. The twists and thrills ensure that this fast paced story never has a dull moment and that readers aren’t sure just who the real enemy is nor what he is really up to.
I have read lots of great books by Kat Martin, but this is the first one in the Texas Trilogy that I have read and I have to tell you that I can’t believe that I haven’t read the first one yet, because as usual Kat Martin paints vivid pictures of her stories that make the readers feel as if they are part of the unfolding story. Beyond Danger was a very exciting read that kept me glued to the pages and not only am I going back and reading Beyond Reason, but I can’t wait to read Beyond Control, which is due to be released in May.
