“You’re free to go,” he said. “But trust me, you won’t want to.”F*ck. This man will be the death of me, he really will.Of the things that should stay in the past… things so much easier…
And then I could leave, and not come crawling back like I do every time.

If you liked the story behind the movie Pretty Woman, you will love this story about James and Elise. While attending a fundraiser assignment for her job, Elise finds herself sitting next to a super handsome gentleman. He finds he really enjoys her company, and seeks her out more and more after the fundraiser simply to spend time with her. She, on the other hand, cannot believe her luck when the editor of the magazine she works for, gives her the assignment to interview James, the multimillionaire, owner, and CEO of the world’s largest internet data space, and she can meet him again and find out all about his private life. He is in NYC to set up a second office and finds himself wanting to spend a lot of time with her during the time he is there. When all roads to romance seem smooth, some of Elise’s research on James is published in her magazine, but not by her. Of course their love life goes way off course. I really enjoyed this book. It is lighthearted, easy to read, and I would recommend it to all people who love a good steamy romance.
*Spoilers* Overall, I thought this was a good book. The storyline was good if a bit slow at first. Once it picked up, I read it straight through. I thought Elise was a great main character. She giggles a lot which drove me a bit nuts. James is a hard worker trying to build his company up. He’s got a bad past, she’s got a neurotic boss who’s a backstabber. However, there is a happy ending coming!

Beyond Broken is an amazing read about James, a wealthy CEO of a tech company looking to expand from California to New York, and Elise, a magazine reporter who wants to interview him as requested by her boss. They immediately are attracted to each other and quickly form a relationship from friends to girlfriend/boyfriend with James sharing his deepest secret with Elise. Unfortunately, his secrets are published by her magazine and James blames Emily for its publication. Will this couple find a way back to love when the truth is revealed? I recommend this amazing book which has wonderful characters and a complex plot with misunderstandings, perceived betrayal, drama, unexpected twists, steamy chemistry and love.

Elise works for a gossip magazine and has been sent to a charity ball to get an interview with someone rich and famous. James is the CEO of a tech company that is hoping to expand its territory and happens to sit beside Elise. When her boss catches a glimpse of them together in a photo, she lets Elise know that it’s James she wants her to interview. As they talk, they find it’s easy to share their story and information about their pasts, even the ugly parts. A sense of trust has been built during the time they’ve spent together. Elise’s article is printed but there’s something dreadfully wrong with it! The repercussions are swift and devastating for this pair and it seems there is no happy ending in sight. The road to their happiness is sometimes difficult and it’s filled with angst, hope and love. Another satisfying story from Allie Hayden.
An outstanding first book in the Billionaire Love Affair series! It is a fast pace page turner that is well-developed, well written, and engaging with drama, suspense, and much more excitement that will keep you engrossed until the end. Strong characters with off the charts chemistry. Definitely recommended!

Main Characters: Elise and James
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
3 1/2 out of 5 stars
Sweet romance. I loved the m/c and the storyline. I have read a few of her books and would definitely continue to read them. I did, however, feel the ending was a little rushed.
This is a good book that once I started I couldn’t stop reading. Its got wonderful characters but It didn’t grab me as much as other books from this author but still definately recommend it to read.

The majority of this book is about James Wolff and a newspaper reporter Elise, whom is supposed to interview him, but is invited out socially and things escalate from there. It isn’t until towards the end (and it happens over a very short span on the book), that the break up and then have their HEA. I always thought Second Chance romances were about the ones that got away and years later have a second chance, but I could be wrong.
I enjoyed this book, and wish I could have read it over one sitting, but I know that I’ll enjoy going back and reading this again.
Please note that I did receive an ARC of this book, and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

This is a good book. The characters have chemistry. The story flows. This was not one of my favorite by this author. I just couldn’t get into this one as much as the other books I have read by her.

Very steamy reading. Elise is a magazine journalist who does celebrity and famous people interviews. James is one of the multibillionaire owners of TEPS, a data storage company that is expanding. Instant attraction but both of them hold out for a short while. Elise’s boss, Meaghan, throws a monkey wrench in there relationship when she prints something that she shouldn’t have gotten her hands on! Good read.

This was a heartwarming love story. Elise and James feel the chemistry from their first meeting. They are moving along great when her magazine runs an unauthorized story about James without her knowledge and it causes them to breakup. It takes James awhile to realize how he feels and that he needs her in his life. James is smart enough to go to Elise and beg for forgiveness and proclaim his love so that they have a happy ending.
An enjoyable entertaining Billionaire romance. This amazing standalone engaging storyline with suspense, action, romance, mystery, emotions, forgiveness, understanding, and humor in a fast paced thrilling romance. The characters are interesting and have amazing chemistry and passion. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC.
Beyond Broken is a Intersting, captivating and a second chance love story. Its a page turner and kept my interest throughout the story. It was wonderful written and a good storyline. I truly enjoyed reading about these two characters James and Elise. I look forward to reading more stories by this author.

Elise worked for a weekly paper where she interviewed famous people. James is an up & coming billionaire. She was asked to interview him. Their relationship blossomed. An article was published in the magazine where he thought it ruined him basically broke him. It actually healed old wounds for him. It actually helped hum . It made him while again. His eyes are opened for the first time.& he mentions to Elise how much he loves her & doesn’t want to be without her in his life.

Elise works at a magazine interviewing important people. It was a charity affair that she met James and thought him very handsome. James saves her from an ex and gives her is card. Elise’s boss wants her to interview James. She does and something sparks between them. Things are going well until they aren’t. Due to a misunderstanding they break apart until James realizes is err. Will Elise take James back? Lovely ending.
I found the story intriguing as well as a ‘coming of understanding’ between two people. It’s easy to quickly blame another for something going wrong but it’s another to understand that it wasn’t actually their fault and to admit to wanting to change things. Very good story all around.

This book is absolutely fantastic! With just the right amount of love, steam and drama, it is definitely a worthwhile read. James and Elise meet at a gala where she is representing the magazine she works for. He is the CEO of a tech company looking to expand from San Francisco to New York. Her boss sent her there to try and get close to someone important for their next big article. She’s currently booked but when her boss, Meghan, sees a picture of her and James together, she insists Elise needs to do the interview now. This leads to them cancelling one with another celebrity that has reprecussions for the magazine. Elise gets her article and she and James end up spending more and more time together. The two are getting closer and on one of their dates, while learning about each other, he tells her about his past with his cheating father. Just when things are going really good between them, it starts to fall apart. He no sooner asks her to be his girlfriend that he needs to spend more and more time getting the new office ready. She shows up to do the rescheduled interview with the celebrity they put off to interview James and the celebrity doesn’t show up. They spend Christmas together and soon everything falls apart and it threatens the business deals his company is working on. An article is published by the magazine Elise works for and it contains very private information he only told her. His partners are afraid it may affect their business and he is furious but he calls Elise and she comes over to explain. He lets her go, telling her it’s too much of a risk and they part ways. A trip to Colorado to see his mother portrays the article in a new light and when he comes back to New York, he knows what he needs to do. Meanwhile, Elise has found out the truth of who and why the article was written, quits her job and gets a new job and new apartment. James shows up when she’s moving in begging for forgiveness and a second chance. She agrees and the two go on to get their happy ending.

This story has a very engaging storyline, a bit on the unique side. I questioned whether love would find a way to the hearts of our lead characters on several occasions. Lots of angst to keep it interesting and a bit of heat to keep it real. But the characters, of course, are what truly make the book.
The author does a good job of describing the events so that it feels like you are in the room with the characters. As if you have a ringside seat looking into their lives.
This was a one-sitting read for me. I just had to get to the end to make sure that a HEA was going to happen.
James had a rough start in life but that only made him determined to do better than the sorry example his father set. Elise brought what was missing into his life…but he almost messed up for good by letting her go. Took his mom and words from an older businessman to help him see what was there the whole time!!! And shame on trifling Meghan…smh! I loved the continued series for T.E.P.S. Can’t wait to see which one will fall next…
