Halfway finished but lost interest
This is an interesting look at Scientology. Not very well written, poorly organized, hard to stay with it.
i wanted to read this book because I’ve always heard negative things about scientology, but never knew anything about what they believed. It amazes me that people actually think this is a positive thing in their lives. This is the most narrow-minded way of thinking that is totally unloving in every sense of the word. What a shame to live a life …
Made me angry for these folks.
Interesting story, not very well written. Gave up on it part-way through. Has a lot of potential to be so much more.
“Beyond Belief” is certainly that! It reveals what many of us have suspected for years: that Scientology exploits its members while financially milking many people who should know better. This is an intimate read about one girl’s struggle to make sense of her life in Scientology. Cult is not too strong a word!
First hand account into the “Cult ” of Scientology and how a young child was raised, many long stretches of time, without a parent.
Was shocked to hear about what goes on behind the closed doors of scientology.
Amazing and unbelievable what she suffered through….a definite must-read…..should get 10 stars instead of 5
Great insight from within Scientology.
I was interested in knowing more about Scientology and I certainly learned a lot from this book. It was rather wordy and repetitious in places but the account given of growing up in the Scientology culture eye-opening. I recommend this book for anyone who is curious about this group.
Very revealing
It took real courage for the author to share all this with us. Terrifying to know that this dangerous cult is still alive in America….and the world.
It’s hard to believe what they can get away with in Scientology! Coming from the niece of the man who is their leader, it is pretty scary that people are trapped in this so-called religion from such a young age. I hope they will wake up and get out!
This book was a real eye opener for me. I feel very sorry that this girl went through such a life of misery. My only disappointment is that she did not find Christ after she left this craziness. I hope that others in this kind of nightmare will find the strength to get out.
Sad and surprising. For those thinking about Scientology – esp Sea Org and esp if you have kids – read this. I HOPE things are done differently now, but why would they be??
This is an eye opening account of mainstream Scientology. How horrific to subject these impressionable children to such garbage. How anyone can believe their teachings is beyond extraordinary.. I’m just blown away by this.
Knowing that people are suffering in this cult and having families torn to shreds is the saddest events in life. I read this sad story with many tears. Scientology is a HUGE sickness in our country. People are joining this for unknown reasons but all of them are fatal .
What a sad story for a child to endure such emotional and physical abuse.
Very enlightening. I had no idea how this could happen in this day and age.
