I usually do not read nonfiction, but this book really peaked my interest. It was very well written and very informative. I couldn’t put in down. Every one wants to belong, fight for a cause, help others. I can totally understand the authors feelings, her disappointment, her anger and frustration. My heart goes out to all who are and have found …
This first hand account of Scientology is informative & quite heart wrenching. The anecdotal “he said/she said” style might be improved by more analysis to accompany the web of events. Despite that, this book is encouraging because many people exhumed themselves from a horrific situation. Jenna’s story underscores the dangers of insularity and …
I have been watching horror stories on tv about Scientology. The story and life this poor woman lived thru was tragic but her strength and will to have a better life was inspiring.
Too much detail, repetitive . Interesting and informative at times. A child growing up in a cult, sad.
I knew nothing about The Church of Scientology except for what I had read in news articles. This first-hand report from youth to early adulthood was upsetting, amazing and frightening. This is NOT a religion; it is definitely a cult.
Very interesting. Left me wondering how anyone could get pulled into this cult
I have read others that are extremely dramatic, what a way to grow up:-(
Shocking how Scientology has gotten away with calling itself a church. Children are forced to work several hours a day on the so called ranch. Separated from their parents for long periods of time. Lots of bullying and brainwashing. Hard to believe these people believe some of the ridiculous ideas of L. Ron Hubbard. Eye opener for sure!
Loved the inside look at Scientology
Interesting.
very, very interesting. Appreciated the view into scientology.
This Cult needs to be shut down. They do terrible things to people who dont toe the line.
Frightening how people can be sucked into beliefs and lifestyles based on one mans writings.
It was a bit difficult wading through all the different levels of Scientology. Unbelieveable what families have gone through and especially children who are separated from their parents and sent to what amounts to labor camps.
A mind-numbing picture of life inside Scientology – the cult that takes kids away from their parents, even if the parents are Scientologists — and does their dead level best to brainwash them completely.
Not what you expect but very informative and interesting.
I didn’t know much about this “religion” besides the late night infomercials on the founders book until the documentaries started being made. This is a completely bonkers story about what can only be described as full on brain washing and a cult.
Can’t believe nobody is looking into this cult.
A tough read for anyone!
Great primer to Leah Remini’s book on escaping Scientology. Due to her familial relationship with key players, there is a lot of info on the roots of Scientology. Also great to get a non-celebrity perspective.
