Will an unexpected loss tear them apart?Remy MacAlister has his hands full. Between watching out for his bipolar brother and taking care of his elderly grandpa, he doesn’t have much time for a social life. Besides, who else is going to look after the only family he has left? So, nothing can distract him, not even the beautiful, foul-mouthed woman with the interesting honey-colored eyes who lives … who lives downstairs.
When Belle Garcia’s best friend asks her for a favor, she does it. It’s that simple. Which is how she finds herself living with a new roommate–the disarmingly handsome man from upstairs. As they adjust to living together, they find they have a lot in common. Things like their taste in music, their sizzling attraction to each other, and disagreeing about everything else.
What happens when their heated arguments turn into more? When the sexual tension rises, no one is safe from the fallout. Can Remy put himself first for a change and go after the girl? Or will Belle let her dark past dictate her future?
This is a steamy contemporary romance with strong language intended for audiences 18 and older. This book touches on themes of assault which may be disturbing to some readers.

Amazingly awesome!!
Beyond Beautiful by Heather MacKinnon is installment two in the Love In Providence series and can be read as a standalone.
Remy is a sweetheart who places a lot of blame on himself and lives just enough to make it through the motions. When Remy is not working he is looking after his brother and his Gramps, who is hilarious by the way, his only living family. He does not have time for distractions until one night with Belle becomes more than he ever expected.
Belle is much like Remy except she is distant from her family due to past reasons. It is for those reasons why she is not one for relationships. Belle seems like she has it pulled together but in all actuality, she is scared and unsure on how to open her heart to anyone.
There were times in the book when I wanted to smack them for being so dumb. However, as the story progressed I learned why they were the way they were. Heather MacKinnon did an outstanding job with this gem and I am HOOKED! I cannot wait to dive into her other books.
This is the second book in this addictive series, and is Remy and Belle’s story. Remy is to busy caring for his family to worry about relationships. Belle is a one night girl and no hanging around for relationships either. Will these two be able to handle the undeniable chemistry between them? No spoilers; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a well written story which is emotional and steamy, which had me hooked and intrigued throughout. I recommend for all.
Book two in the series, I really enjoyed this book. Belle is not into relationships she is a one night only girl, Remy is kind and always looks out for his family. Their story is full of angst with twists and turns, will Belle and Remy find their happy ever after?
Belle is not looking for love. She witnessed her mother’s downward spiral when she lost her father & she swore she would never let love do that to her. She’s happy for her best friend Bailey finding & marrying her soul mate Ryder, but she definitely does not need to find hers. She’s happy flirting & looking at gorgeous guys like Remy, Ryder’s brother & her neighbor. One night together is all it takes to cause a roller coaster of feelings & emotions she never saw coming.
I love how sweet, loving & selfless Remy is, especially with Gramps. Belle kept pushing Remy away but he never gave up on her. Her past with her mom made her jaded on love, which caused so much tension & frustration with Remy. She was a difficult character to like because of the push/pull with Remy, but she did redeem herself in the end when he needed her. Looking forward to reading more from this author!
The second book in the Love in Providence series a well written story that kept me turning pages. I did find it to be a tearjerker. I want to read the first book in this series. This is Remy MacAlister and Belle Garcia’s story we also get more of Bailey Woods and Ryder MacAlister from the first book.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
He has a very full plate looking after his brother and elderly grandfather, nothing gets in the way. She moves into the place next to him and she finds herself drawn to him but they tend to argue a lot. Will they fall for each other? Will he put himself first for a change? Will her past ruin it? See how it all goes

This was my first read from Heather, and I really enjoyed that I didn’t have to read the first book in the series to understand or read this one! Belle has lived her life with a focus on never falling in love due to tragedy that happened during her childhood. When chance puts her with Remy, her best friend’s boyfriend’s brother, she decides to succumb to her lustful feelings. Remy has climbed up the ladder in his job, while living with his brother and helping him get back on track and also taking care of his grandfather. While he’s always been attracted to Belle, nothing has ever happened, but when he finds himself with her, he decides to shoot his shot and succeeds. The majority of this book is Remy going after Belle and her not being able to deal with the feelings she’s getting towards Remy mixed with her feelings from her past and how they have dictated her life for so long. The more Remy does, the more Belle runs. One thing I didn’t like was how long and drawn out this book was. I feel that the situations and feelings could have been shortened, but I absolutely loved the ending! I felt for Remy and how he worked so hard to try to get Belle to see how he felt and how great of a guy he was! Be prepared for the tissues towards the end, but overall it was a good book!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I loved this book. Remy MacAlister has spent his life looking after other people. His brother when his parents died and when he was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder and his grandfather as he just got older. Between working long hours and looking after others he doesn’t have time for anyone or anything else in his life. When the girl downstairs offers him one night (she doesn’t do relationships), Remy jumps at the chance.
Belle’s friend, Bailey, just got engaged to Remy’s brother, Ryder. As their lives take different paths, Belle wonders where hers will lead. When Remy walks in on Ryder and Bailey, one time too many, he knows it is time to move out. In the meantime, he is going to move in with Belle, the girl who doesn’t do relationships, the girl he can’t get out of his thoughts and the girl who left in the middle of the night.
Slowly, as they begin to spend time together, Remy starts to break Belle down, but it feels like one step forward, two steps back. How much can Remy take being pushed away before he finally stays away for good?
I loved the first book in this series, and you don’t have to read that to read this, but this novel was a step up. I was happy, sad, frustrated with Belle and hopeful for Remy – just the feelings you want to feel invested in the characters. Definitely not the last book by this author that I’ll read.
