Twelve years ago, Kaitlyn Russell had a dream: living happily ever after with Clay Morgan. Except her grandmother had bigger plans for her beloved granddaughter and they didn’t include life in the small town of McKenna Springs as the wife of a young, poor deputy. Kaitlyn’s heart was broken when Clay and her grandmother convinced her to pursue her second love, Broadway stardom. Texas Ranger Clay … Ranger Clay Morgan is a widower with a young son to raise. A dozen years before, he had to make the most difficult decision of his life when he agreed to let go of the only woman he’d ever loved so that she could pursue her dreams.

A heartwarming, slow burn of a second chance romance. Loved the characters and the storyline but they sure were slow to get to actually having the conversation they should have had much earlier… hence the slow burn.
I enjoyed this second chance romance. I voluntarily chose to review this story and I’ve given it a 4.5* rating. This off, then on again, then off again romance of two lonely characters trying to do the right thing. There were a lot of twists and turns on this journey and a lot of deep down caring going on too. It kept me turning the pages to find out how it was going to end. A real nice ending too.
Beware The Ranger by Debra Holt is a great second-chance western romance. Ms. Holt has given readers a well-written book. I love the characters. Kaitlyn is a famous actress on Broadway. Clay is a Texas Ranger. When Kaitlyn and her friend make a stop in Texas on their way to New Mexico, Clay is tasked with bringing her home because her grandmother is ill. Clay and Kaitlyn’s story is loaded with drama, humor and spice. I enjoyed reading Beware The Ranger and look forward to reading more from Debra Holt in the future. Beware The Ranger is book 1 of the Texas Lawmen Series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I loved the book. Hated to see it end.
easy read……
Good cowpoke book. On and off decisions kept one guessing the outcome.
Great read with wonderful characters
Just could not get into this story line at all. Didn’t finish the book. Tried just could not get there. I honestly can’t say why this story just did not draw me in but I feel it is likely more my taste than the author. Others might really enjoy this book.
Second Chances
Clay would do anything for Gram Russell even find her granddaughter on a Texas highway. Katelyn & her friend Angie decided to drive from Atlanta to Santa Fe. She didn’t stop in her home town to see her grandmother, because she was afraid of running into Clay. Best made plans when her gram sends him to catch before her heart surgery. Can they right the past.
This book is the first in the series and it’s the best of the four. I was glad to see that the author didn’t go over the top with the Texas background; she was quite accurate. I enjoyed it enough to buy the next three, but I can’t say the same for those.
A very entertaining and well written book I recommend.
Once I started this book I just could not but it down
Great book with a romantic happily ever after
Loved reading this book! I could hardly put it down!!!! It was a terrific read!!!
2.5 stars. Storyline was okay, but the author spend way to much time rehashing the same “you done me wrong” for most of the book. When she got to the end, it felt rushed and unfinished. Not only was the geographical/career issue resolved-it wasn’t even ADDRESSED. Silly
Wonderful story, really enjoyed reading this book!
Romantic….like this series
Fun read. I really enjoyed it.
Great second chance book!
I like happy ending books and also second chance books.
