If you want a story with action, adventure, intrigue, a handsome pirate prince and his beautiful wife, this is the story that will fill all of those desires! When his wife is stolen Anteros will stop at nothing to get her back and destroy everything in his way.
Wonderful characters and vivid descriptions entertain until the very end!!
Following the visions of the Seer of Algiers, Anteros, Olivia and some others have to embark on a dangerous adventure to save not only their lives but others too. Their goal is to defeat the Dey of Algiers, Hazim who is a cruel and vindictive man.
Anteros and Olivia are a very fine couple that loves each other dearly. I liked Nazari. He is a character that intrigues me. I hope to read his story soon.
This is the sweet version of Her Pirate Prince. Adventure, visions, ships and pirates, and strong ladies make this story enjoyable.

Anteros, and his beloved new bride, Olivia are recently married when Anteros’s grandfather who is dead comes to the seer , Shira ,. He tells her that oliva and Anteros will dies if she doesn’t help them out. Anteros greatest enemy Dey Hazim of Algiers wants Anteros to die and take over his country. Shira devies a plan where Anteros will go take on Dey Hazim of Algiers with the help of Dey Hazim’s son and Antero’s sister. This book was good but short.

This is the much cleaner version of the spicier, sexier book Her Pirate Prince. I have read both versions now and enjoyed them both. The love story of Olivia and Anteros is just as compelling in this version as it was in the original telling of it. I also liked how Ms. Wadsworth gave us a complete book about their life after they were married and showed that it was not all peace and happiness but they still had treachery and enemies to be overcome before they could settle down and enjoy their hard-fought HEA! It was almost like an extended, extended, extended epilogue to the book where they initially met and fell in love!!
Do read both of the books that showcase this beautiful love story in whichever version you prefer, spicy: (The Prince’s Bride, #5 and Her Pirate Prince, #6) or tame: (The Prince Who Captured Me, #5 and Beware of the Pirate Prince, #6). You will not be disappointed that you did!!

This is the “clean” version of Her Pirate Prince and contains no sex scenes. The previous book (which really provides a lot of backstory–you’ll want to go back and read it) sets the scene for Anteros and Olivia.
The seer has a vision where Anteros is destroyed with Olivia being used as bait. She encounters a spirit friend who confirms the vision. Anteros is the only force strong enough to defeat the Dey of Algiers but his weak spot is Olivia. Only with the Seer’s help can he rescue his wife and defeat the Dey without dying himself.
Fast paced, novella length. I think the previous story should be recommended as a prequel to this but the action is fast and furious and the characters are truly good fighting against terrible evil.
Sexy, fun, exciting and action packed journey filled with engaging charters, witty dialog, heart racing twists and undeniable passion. A great read from beginning to end, really enjoyed the emotionally thrilling journey.
Too Dark to Be “Sweet”
I’m not quite sure what is going on with romances lately, but this one—like several others I’ve read this week, unfortunately—has some very dark elements that aren’t warned about in the book’s description. (I wonder if this has something to do with the pandemic and the stress we all feel. Let me state I strongly dislike this trend!) When I see a romance labeled “clean and sweet,” I know that refers to the sex (though I don’t see $ex as being dirty), but I also have an expectation that a “sweet” book won’t be dark, and this one certainly was in places. Not only did it have a theme about human trafficking, but it also has sadistic, cruel torture of female captives as well. Ick… big time. Not what I was expecting at all, and I felt myself quite disturbed by the book, which is *not* why I read romance. I want to escape from harsh realities, not be exposed to the worst of them. And I don’t think that has a place at all in a book labeled “sweet.” This didn’t really feel like a true romance either, as the couple is already together with hearts engaged. A lot happens, but not really around the romance. I have read this author off and on for a while, and the quality of her books varies widely. The more I read of her, the more I think she is just one of those authors who likes to pump out a book every couple weeks, not caring too much about the ultimate quality of them. Too bad, because I enjoyed some of her books last year. I wish she cared more about giving the readers a good experience consistently than just putting out book after book. And be warned, while this book may be “sweet” in terms of the sex, it definitely is not otherwise.
I’ve always loved Joanna Wadsworth’s writing! “Beware Of The Pirate Prince” was a venture to reclaim Anteros wife Olivia who was captured by the evil Dey of Algiers and used as bait to trap Anteros.
While this is a stand alone, I wish I had read the previous story in the series first as I now know that it contains the back story of Anteros and Olivia. However, this is still a great action packed, fast paced, pirate tale with not only the heroic Anteros but many hero’s.
The characters are interesting, well developed and contribute much to the story. The plot is intriguing and moves well. There’s betrayal, deception and revenge to propel this’ll story to a satisfying conclusion.
Thank you so much Joanne for such an exciting swashbuckled tale. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
This felt more like an action and adventure story than a romance, but in a good way! I think this is one of the most unusual Regency romances that I have read, and I read a lot of Regency romance! I tend to prefer sweet and gentle historical romances, so there were some parts of this book that made me uncomfortable, but I thought the author handled the difficult subjects well. Unfortunately, I had not read the previous book in this series, which also starred this couple. I do find myself curious about how they came together as they seem to be an unlikely couple. I think I enjoyed the slightly paranormal aspect the best. It added an otherworldly feel to the book that I don’t think I’ve often seen in Regency romances.
I was gifted this book but this is my honest opinion.
Book one of the Pirates of the High Seas, but book six Regency Brides series, a well written story that kept me turning pages. Prince Anteros and his wife Olivia’s story of suspense, drama, danger, kidnapping, and love. I want to read more of this series. The seer of Algiers, Shira Ria, had a vision. As she walked along the dangerous cliffs, the ghostly spirit of her dear friend, Mario of Paradiso, appeared to her. He told her he had a disturbing premonition of his grandson, Anteros, and his beloved new bride, Olivia. Shira herself had just had a vision of Anteros and Olivia wading through a thick pool of congealed blood, where Olivia floundered and was sucked below the surface. Anteros had searched frantically for her. Shira tried to reach out a hand to aid him in the vision, but Anteros had fallen back along with Olivia into the abyss of blood. Mario told her that Olivia will soon be stolen away from Anteros, and that future will become reality if Shira doesn’t take action. Dey Hazim of Algiers is his powerful enemy and wants Anteros destroyed. Anteros has a large fleet of ships and could take the Dey down in battle – but the vision shows even he could be killed before he can do anything. And Olivia will be the bait to lure him to his death! Will Anteros agree to follow the complex plan that Shira offers him to save them both and to deal with his enemy?
This was an intriguing pirate story with strong, loyal characters who want to stop the cruel Dey from his human trafficking and his plan to kidnap Olivia to destroy Anteros. Lots of fast action and suspense awaits the reader in this story line. Grab your copy and share the pirate adventure!
I think it’s so wonderful that a sweet version of a “Her Pirate Prince” was made. This is my first book by this author and, as I stick to the sweet books, I was excited to read this book, after reading the blurb and thrilled to find out it was a sweet book. I found out at the beginning of this book that, while a standalone, it continues the previous book’s story. After reading it, I feel like it is more of an in between story between the previous and next books. There are a few main characters, love interests from the last book and from the next book. Thus, there is no specified romance playing out in this book, just the after effects from the previous and the groundwork for the next. That said, this was an enjoyable adventure to read, everything just felt a bit incomplete.

This was a very enjoyable story, the characters are well written and the story line keeps you engaged. I loved the continuation of Olivia and Anteros’ story. Looking forward to Adrestia and Nazari’s story!
