Julian “Quinn” Quintero, a gruff, tough Miami SWAT officer, has been injured on the job, and all he’s looking for is a little peace and quiet to recover–difficult to achieve with his large Cuban family. An adventure in picking up his prescriptions puts him in the path of his geeky, brownie-baking neighbor, Spencer Morgan. Spencer sweeps into Quinn’s life like a tropical storm of sunshine and … rainbows. Not surprisingly, it’s chaos at first sight. Quinn’s in need of a little tender loving care, and Spencer decides he’s just the man for the job. Their very different lives might clash, but they might also find some common ground–and maybe more.

In the mood for something sweet? Beware of Geeks Bearing Gifts by Charlie Cochet is one of those cute fluffy stories I seldom read.
Spencer is a graphic designer who’s working from home and has been lusting for his hot SWAT officer neighbour for a year. Quinn, the neighbour, don’t know what Spencer looks like despite probably having said hello in the lift several times – he’s obviously no threat or Quinn would’ve kept an eye on him.
When Quinn is injured in the line of duty, Spencer decides he needs to feed his poor neighbour.
It really is a cute read, and I enjoyed it all the way up to the point where Spencer decided to forget he had a brain and I had to try to read through the hand I used to shield myself from the mortification.
Luckily that scene was right in the end or I’d stopped reading. Public humiliation is my no-go, I stop reading and abandon the stories. I just can’t deal, sorry. But we’re all different and you’ll probably just see it as a fun little scene, so don’t let that scare you off.
A sweet opposite attracts story!
This story was ALL kinds of cute. We see a sweetheart named Spencer Morgan who yearns for his hottie tough guy neighbor finally reach out to him as he is recovering from a gunshot wound received in the line of duty. With the way to a man’s heart being through his stomach, Spencer has all ‘the right moves’. Julian “Quinn” Quintero, Miami SWAT officer is the recipient of his interest and it is wonderful to see these two becomes friends and eventually lovers. I was especially delighted to find out that Charlie Cochet has made Julian Quintero the cousin of Ace and Lucky of the Four Kings Security series. Spencer and Quinn’s relationship is briefly mentioned in several of the books.
This was a short cute novella that proved that the way to a particular grumpy man’s heart was through his stomach. Quinn and Spencer’s first meeting ends with near disaster despite being hilarious. But thank goodness for determined young men and broody injured patients – it all worked out in the end. It was low angst, low steam but full of sweet and adorable moments! I loved it! Plus all the food mentions made for delicious evening!
I absolutely loved this book. Spencer and Quinn were really cute together. One of my favourite opposites attract stories. I loved Quinn’s family and they were really supportive and fun. I want to punch Javier so badly and I’m really glad Quinn did it. This is a really good book.

I am a huge fan of any book written by Charlie Cochet, so this sweet story in the world of Four Kings Security series was a must read for me. This story about how 2 very different people found that they complemented each other was simply wonderful. A cute and endearing love story.
Beware of Geeks Bearing Gifts is part of the Four Kings Security universe, but can easily be read as a standalone. Chronologically, this book takes place before the first book in the Four Kings Security series.
The book was a cute get-together story for Spencer and Quinn, two neighbors who are opposites yet completely right for each other. There is a lot of fluff and sweetness, along with some funny moments. Although there is some angst, it is short lived and smoothed over by a lovely steamy sex scene and romantic moment. The book is short, and the ending feels a little sudden, however, I read the short story, In the Cards, right after I finished this book and that made the story feel more complete. In the Cards features Spencer and Quinn’s wedding, but I suggest reading the Four Kings Security series first before reading In the Cards.
A really sweet m/m read. A birthday treat that goes wrong makes someone see how much they care. A quick read but the sexual chemistry between spencer and quinn is palpable.
Once these guys have a chance to actually met there is a spark that quickly begins to burn between them. I love how caring Spencer and I love the humor that happens when it doesn’t always go as planned. Quinn’s family is great and you feel like you would like to get a hug from them all. I also love how Quinn is willing to stand up to his friends for Spencer. This was a fun story with lots of humor and wit thrown in with new love.
