I loved this story !!!!
Susan Wiggs always writes lovely stories about love, life, and family. In this book, Caleb Stoltz has returned to a conservative Amish community to raise his niece and nephew after his brother and sister-in-law are killed. A freak accident brings Caleb back into the hustle and bustle of the city and into the life of Philadelphia doctor Reese Powell. A heartfelt story!
This story bursts with emotional charge and dares to question the existence of forbidden love. Yes, even in 2019, cultural differences can become a barrier that is impossible to cross, no matter what our hearts tell us. Family and faith can be strong opposing forces that all too often become a deterrent that keeps two people who love each other, apart. Beautifully written, at times frustrating, I found myself rooting (and turning the pages) for Caleb and Reese to overcome the clash of worlds that kept pushing them away from each other.
I really enjoyed this book.
Another great book by Susan Wiggs. Enjoyed.
Caleb and Reese’s story is one of love, heartbreak, friendship and family. I love Caleb and his loyalty to his niece and nephew and determination to keep them safe. Reese wears her heart on her sleeve and she’s a great character for a protagonist. My only complaint is that the story was a bit slow moving for me until about 3/4 of the way through. The story was wonderful though and worth the read. If you enjoy a romance with a crossover/in between of Amish and Englishers I highly recommend reading between you and me.
This book got me back into reading. The characters are enchanting and the storyline is original but believable. I couldn’t put the book down. As a nurse, the medical aspects of the book were spectacular. You amaze me Susan Wiggs!
