I’ve got a problem. A big muscly problem, with icy blue eyes, long dark hair, and tight leather pants.
Keryth is the Night Realm king. My father’s greatest enemy. And my fated mate.
It isn’t easy being a fae princess of the Day Realm. Our kingdom has suffered hardships, but if my father won’t approve of the mating bond with Keryth, they’ll be putting another body in a casket—mine. If we’re kept … casket—mine. If we’re kept apart, we’ll both die. Not to be dramatic or anything. Destiny just doesn’t like to be denied, and our sanity will wither away if we don’t give in.
Too bad my father doesn’t care about that. His solution is to lock me away forever.
When Keryth comes to rescue me, I know we can take on anything as long as we’re together. But old rivalries die hard, and the past sins of our families come back to haunt us, affecting our future and the ones we love the most.
This novella is a prequel for the Between Dawn and Dusk series. Although Zella and Keryth get their happily ever after, this story ends on a cliffhanger for another character. The next book, The Fae King’s Curse, will release on April 17th.

4.5 Cranky Stars
Between Dawn and Dusk is the first book of this genre that Jamie Schlosser has written, and she did an awesome job. This book introduces us to Zella and Keryth one is a princess one is a king. Zella hails from the Day Realm a world full of sunlight and Keryth is from the Night Realm one full of dark skies and beautiful stars. They learn during a supply run when they were young that they are fated mates. It doesn’t go over well because both realms have a tentative truce at best each side claiming the other did them wrong. He spirits her away from the madness her father who is king to her realm and brings her home to his. It’s here they will face trials and accusations, but love is by far stronger than hate.
Ok this book was spicy too. I wasn’t expecting that but to drive the point home that fated mates intensely feel each others emotions and they are heightened this drove that home. They burned up the sheets but it’s more than that. It’s about love and sacrifice it’s about being stronger as a unit. I can’t wait to see what Kirians book will hold. I’m really excited for it. Between Dawn and Dusk is an excellent start to what should be an interesting new series!
“From dawn til dusk, from dusk til dawn, I’ll never love another.”
Huge Jamie Schlosser fan aka Super Fan. This was her first fantasy book and it was fantastic. She created a wonderful world, that I got sucked right into. And now I am “patiently” waiting for the next book. Ok, so I think we all know I am not patiently waiting, but wait I will. I am so excited to read the next book, and yes my excitement is that real.
Zella is the fae princess of the Day Realm and Keryth is the king of the Night Realm. Mates, fated mates to be exact, and her father is trying to keep them apart, but they aren’t having that. He comes to get his mate, and together these two are powerful, they are bonded and basically one, so together they can withstand anything and everything, and they do.
This was a safe read with 2 powerful fated mate virgins…I know, right…aawwwe, so dang sweet. “Don’t you know how much you mean to me? How long I’ve waited for you? I wanted you before I even knew you. I could never be with another. All of me is yours.”. And the sexy heat between them. Fantastic storyline, the couples story and the ongoing Realms storyline. Some shocking twist, and a powerful epilogue…leaving you begging for more. Yes begging, don’t judge me. Fantastic read….next book please…nowish works for me.
This was a prequel to an upcoming release. I usually don’t enjoy these bc they’re too short and more like an extended prologue. Not this one it was well written with a fleshed out plot and characters. Sure it left me wanting for the next book but in a good way. The author did an amazing job of telling a story and setting up the next book. I absolutely loved Kereth and Zella! This was a great read with wonderful characters! A tale of love and magic filled with twists and turns! I’m so looking forward to the next book!
I love a good paranormal romance, so when this released I clicked, and so happy I did! This novella packs a punch right from the very start. Zella, the Day realm princess, and Keryth, the Night realm King, are fated mates and doomed from the beginning. These two have so much chemistry it literally pours out of them. I loved the suspense, action, bit of mystery, and especially the steam factor. The world is captivating and the descriptive writing draws you in. While this was a quick read, there is so much going on and I loved the twists and turns the story took, especially that ending! I’m extremely excited for the continuation in The Fae King’s Curse.
Free will verses Destiny…what would you choose?
Zella and Keryth are from two different realms. Zella from the Day and Keryth from the night.
They are star crossed mates. Their bond knows no bonds, the way they love, shows the greatest devotion.
Can the two realms come together as one or will they be destroyed?
I cannot believe this is Jamie’s first foray into fantasy!!
The world-building in this book is fantastic! I can picture every castle, forest, and waterfall, as well as the different type of fae wings and appearances.
The characters are likeable and relatable. Fated mates are always a favorite of mine. I love the intensity of their love. Both are strong and fair rulers. I would absolutely love to be their fae friend.
The back-stories for these characters are excellent, memorable, and detailed, while not being wordy or boring. Jamie managed to get a lot into a short-ish book, and made it 100% complete. I would love to have the story of every side-character mentioned, as well. It also perfectly sets up the next book (or perhaps the first book, if this is a prequel)!
If you love fae and fantasy, this book is for you. It has action, forbidden love, fated mates, beautiful scenery, fae lore, royalty, power struggles, a happily ever after, and a curse…. I truly can’t wait for the next book!
Im so excited for what’s to come from this new series there’s so much intrigue, fantastic characters, and vivid scenes that it feels like you’ve fallen right into the story and taking the journey through the Day realm with the characters
This novella is such a great little read. From the beginning, the author creates a world you can envision when you close your eyes. There is family drama, politics ( of the fairy world- don’t get scared) and romance. The kind of romance you can feel and find yourself rooting for. It ends with a cliff hanger that has you ready and waiting for the next book to drop. I really loved this little book and the escape it created.
I couldn’t believe how awesome this paranormal book was from this author! I believe it was the first for her and it was as usual, extraordinary! Can’t wait to read the next in the series.
This was my first Fae book and I was not sure if this was a genre I would like. Let me tell you I am hooked!! This world that Jamie has created is amazing. So many details to make you imagine you are there with them. I was hooked from the start and did not want to put my kindle down!!
Zella and Keryth I can’t say enough about the connection these two fated mates have. When her father tries to keep them apart…Keryth is definitely swoon worthy!!
Loved this! Jamie made a Fae reader out of me!
Holy smokes! This book had me on pins and needles the whole time. I never knew what was going to happen next. I laughed, I had anger, I cried. Such a perfectly fated couple. And then setting us up in a cliffhanger for the next book. Wow. I am blown away. I love this author. FAE. Fated mates. I mean real fated mates. Double V’s for the win. I must have the best book!
Night and Day
Zella is a princess of the Day.
She fell for Keryth, the Night King when she was seventeen and he fell for her as well. They met at Dawn and Dusk. As fated mates, they will wither without each other. But her pops arranged a marriage for her to someone else.
This is a prequel, primarily focused on Zella and Keryth, but introduces us to their worlds and her sisters.
Recommend.
I have never read fantasy romance before and I didn’t know what to expect when reading this book. But this book exceeded my expectations. Keryth is the Night Realm king and Zella is the princess of the Day Realm and they are destined to be together. Keryth and Zella are pushed together when one Zella’s own people attack her and she gets injured and Keryth is there to take care of her. But there union causes some unease between the night realm people and the day realm people. Keryth and Zella get there happy ending but this does end on a cliffy for another character and you will have wait until the next book comes up to see what happens…
This is my first fairy read, and so excited for the next book in this series
Zella is the princess of the Day Realm, but yet fated to Keryth the Night Realm king. Love the intertwining of the 2 souls of fates couples. The journey of Keryth coming to rescue Zella despite history to be with his fated love. Soo much more I want to say, but yet don’t want to give away anything.
That was Amazing!!!!!
Keryth was well a damn badass King! Busting his soul mate out with a bang. Soul mates regardless of their species are Magical! They have this beautiful aura about them. It’s selfless and caring and loving and so very beautiful but in the Fae world everything is anything but and while Zella and Keryth wanted everything to be different someone always comes and ruins it!
Brothers are a pain in the ass!
Witches and their damn curses!
And a mate that’s marked by the sky at night!
Damn Jaime killed it with this story and I seriously cannot wait for the next part!
Disclaimer I received an arc copy for an honest and voluntary review!
As the start of (hopefully long, yes??) a series, this one novella certainly delivers on action, emotion and chemistry. As fated mates from two different fae realms that are antagonistic, Keryth and Zella have a lot to overcome. The glorious thing is that they do so as a unit. Their unwavering devotion to each other is absolutely swoonworthy and a delight to read.
There are a lot of times where my love of a book will be because of the hero and DESPITE the heroine, but I am really happy to say that Zella proved herself to be a worthy mate to Keryth. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
I received an ARC and am leaving an unbiased review.
Between Dawn and Dusk has me quite captivated!!
Absolutely loved the story between Zella and Keryth!!
This story was full of magic, love and soulmates.
I can’t wait to see what’s next in the Fae World!!
Between Dawn and Dusk by Jamie Schlosser
Keryth & Zella’s story is amazing!! I was so excited to read this authors dip into the paranormal genre as her other work that I’ve read has been fantastic. I was not disappointed. I loved this prequel and cannot wait for more in this series!
Absolutely loved it! For a shorter book JS was able to pack in enough detail, emotion and action to give me a view of this world she’s created. Totally excited for the next book!
I received this book as an ARC and I am reviewing voluntarily. I really enjoyed reading this book. There was love, betrayal, suspense and chemistry. The chemistry between Zella and Keryth was explosive. They were true mates! Even though Keryth is much older than Zella, the love he shows her and the way he cares for her was magnificent.
Keryth is the king of the Night Realm and Zella is a princess of the Day Realm. Nothing like saying opposites attract lol. For many years both Realms have been at odds with each other starting with the death of Keryth’s parents. Then their was a plague on the women in the Day Realm. Both sides blaming each other. Because of limited resources they agreed to a trade agreement. On one of the trades Keryth met Zella and it was love at first sight but she was to young. This was so romantic getting to know her over the next few years. Her father was not right mentally and kept her away from Keryth but that didn’t stop him or his love for her. I couldn’t believe the things her father was willing to do and the things he said to her, but I guess once your mind is gone you have no control.
Despite losing the ties to her family Zella followed her heart and the love of her life to the Night Realm. They had some challenges along the way but also some good memories. Zella had a rocky start meeting the people of the Night Realm but hopefully over time they learn to accept her more. I can’t say the same for Keryth’s brother Silas though. The book ends on a doozy of a cliffhanger so I can’t wait for the next book.
