Greta has been here before. Like, literally. She was just in this Las Vegas penthouse a couple months ago. Back then she was meeting Finn, the handsome bachelor looking for love, on The Lock—the most popular reality dating TV show around. But when she was here last time she was dumped, and went home alone instead of engaged. Life sucks sometimes. But, other times, that same life has a beautiful … beautiful way of showing you why it sucked so hard before – so you can appreciate what comes next even more. Because now Greta is the next lucky bachelorette to have thirty or so men worshiping her while she breaks up with them one at a time. It’s weird to be recognized in public, and even weirder to have so many dudes fighting over her. Actually after just a couple days it’s kind of exhausting, especially when she’d rather send all but a couple of them home. Be careful what you wish for, right?
Throughout the whirlwind Greta spends more time with her personal cameraman, Oliver, than she does on Trysts with the guys she’s supposed to be falling in love with. And the more time she spends with Oliver the less she wants to spend with anyone else. Anyone. Even the guys here for her. It gets worse too. The fact that he’s behind the scenes instead of on the big screen…it’s not the only problem. He also has a girlfriend. And that’s a line Greta won’t cross. But she can’t stop wishing she’d met him before all of this craziness.
Will Greta get her head together long enough to focus on following the rules of the show, or will she screw up this second shot at love too?

If you like reality dating TV shows, romances with steam and heart, female leads with no time for conflict or bullshit, and redheads, then Betting On Sin might be your next favorite book. It has plenty of awkward moments, friends to lovers, and promises the most dramatic season finale yet. It’ll keep you up way too late, reading just one more chapter all night.

About the author:
Maria lives in Minnesota despite the frozen winters. Actually, she prefers snow drifts and icicles over summer and all that sweat running everywhere. She lives with her husband and little family, which includes a couple lazy cats who make great lap warmers. She absolutely believes in unicorns and ghosts, and hopes vampires are real too. She’s a coffee in the morning and wine in the evening kind of person, preferably with a nap in between. She’s a creative, mouthy, introverted, proud bisexual, highly-sensitive INFJ, Slytherpuff, dork with a lot of tattoos and a sweet-tooth.
Maria’s now living her dream as a stay at home writer, kiddo wrangler, professional snuggler, and constantly-tired-person. When it comes to writing, she specializes in dark and twisted thrillers or angsty contemporary romances. No matter the genre, she always prefers writing deeply flawed characters with dysfunctional relationships. She’s pretty sure the whole “unlikable character” thing is a conspiracy, because every character she loves has been labeled this way.

This book hooked me in from the beginning and didn’t let me put it down until I was done with it! It’s set up like a tv show and it makes it fun and interesting to read. You want to root for every single “contestant” to find there own HEA and hope one will be with Greta but she throws you for a loop by falling for someone else! You won’t regret reading this one!
As always, Ms Green did not disappoint. This story held my attention from beginning to end. I was sucked into the story and found myself saying “just one more chapter” until it was 3 a.m. and I was done. If you’re looking for a good read, you’ll want to pick up this book.
I received an ARC for an honest review.
All right, I want to start by clarifying that having received an advanced copy of the book in no way affects my thoughts about the book.
“Betting on Sin” is a book like no other I have read so far, it is the first book with a theme similar to the TV show “The Bachelor”, at first, I found myself a little lost since I did’nt know the first book, but after I started reading it all started to make more sense.
Greta is a character that I really liked, she is a woman who at first struggle to know what she wants, but when she discovers it, she gives herself completely.
And Oliver, oh, good ol’ Ollie, I love the way he protects Greta, the connection that forms in them is very nice and makes me want one just like that, hehe.
Their relationship is not the “I know you and I love you” type, it is realistic, which gives an interesting touch to the story.
SPOILER ALERT! Oliver has a girlfriend and Greta practically becomes the other woman, not everything is sunshine and rainbows, but the ending makes up for all the crying i did in the book, but, well… I´m a crybaby.
Another part that I really enjoyed from the author, is the nature she deals with sexual orientation of the characters, Mary did not typecast characters in their preferences, which I admire, respect and adore.
This is without a doubt one of the best books I have read this year.
This story has the same theme as the Bachelorette type reality shows but with a twist.
So if you love those shows you will love this book.
Greta has the best personality!! It’s honest, fun and always entertaining which had me laughing out loud quite a bit.
This book had such great humour, steamy tension and an outcome I didn’t see coming at first.
Overall I didn’t connect to the story as much as I usually do.
I love romance books for the ongoing connection and chemistry of relationship and it just seemed to be slow going and had a lot of internal dialogue.
I adored this book! I loved sharp, smart, no-shit Greta, her boys, and especially the crew of characters who are staff on The Key. Maria Ann Green crafts her characters to be smart, complex, and flawed, while still moving the plot along. If you are looking for a thoughts-racing friends-to-lovers book in a “The Bachelor” setting, this one is for you!
The first half of the book felt like it dragged, but the second half was much better for me.
There was a huge amount of internal thoughts from Greta, and I must admit I started to skip bits to get to something that actually happened, I personally don’t need that much description and self analysis in a story.
The overall story was really good and I did feel like I knew Greta well, and could feel the attraction to Ollie. Ollie was a loveable character and you see them falling for each other.
I do not like reality shows and I was a bit apprehensive when starting the book but theres enough of the show in for the story but it doesn’t take over the book.
It was an enjoyable love story with a HEA.
Maria Ann Green’s Betting on Sin is a great follow up to Betting on Love, and though isn’t quite as “safe” as its predecessor, it’s still a satisfying read.
When Greta signed on to be a contestant on the popular dating show, The Key, she had no idea she’d be chosen to be the bachelorette for its next season. As she wades through all of the eligible bachelors in the group, she find herself constantly drawn to Ollie, her shy cameraman. But Ollie has a girlfriend, and Greta is legitimately looking for love… what could possibly go wrong?
I love how Green has deftly tapped into the reality TV dating world by creating her own unique spin on the genre. Greta is endearing because she’s so flawed, though she does make one choice in the book that I didn’t love. Without giving away too much, I’ll say that if you’re looking for a totally “safe” romance that doesn’t have any cheating, you won’t get that from this novel. Ollie is also adorably flawed, and their chemistry is steamy. I love a kind, sensitive male protagonist, and Ollie definitely fits that bill.
Fans of Betting on Love will be pleased by the Nova and Jesse cameos that happen, and love the expansion of Greta’s character. My only hope is that a certain new Bachelor gets his own book, too. Because he was intriguingly mysterious.
An ARC was generously provided in exchange for my honest review.
This was a good book and the characters are written perfectly. Thank you for allowing me to read and review your book
