This book is everything that I love about contemporary romance. It’s so freaking funny! I chuckled throughout the whole book. At the same time, Ms. Kincaid gave me all the feels. I teared up, and I was so completely invested in these characters, that I couldn’t put the book down! I’m claiming Jonah as my own. He’s exactly what I want in a hero. You’ll swoon. You’ll grin. You’ll fall in love with this world Kimberly Kincaid has built!
A wonderful story with characters you totally want to be.
Steamy and romantic! What else would you expect from Kimberly Kincaid?

Oh My Goodness!!! Jonah and Natalie were even more perfect than I imagined! As best friends their back and forth is fun and sometimes even laugh out loud funny. As lovers and adding in the sexual tension, they are downright steamy and delicious! Jonah is my newest and currently my favorite book boyfriend!!

Don’t we all need a little Jonah in our life?? He’s sexy as all get out, he’s totally fun to hang around with and it turns out he’s got a heart of gold! With the second book in her steaming hot Remington Medical series, Kimberly Kincaid brings us a super sexy, fun-loving read that manages to tear our heart out on occasion before slowly stitching it back together again. Chock full of emotion and drama that will have you turning the pages as quickly as you can to unravel what’s going to happen. I didn’t think I could love a book more than the first in the series … but YES, I sure did! Can’t wait for Connor’s story!
It’s well known that Jonah Sheridan is a player. He loves the ladies, but he’s not going to be settling down with one … like ever. He’s a top notch surgeon at Remington Medical and the best friend a gal could have … and he manages to prove it when he begrudgingly lets Natalie move into his apartment for the next six weeks. That’s right, six weeks with sexy temptation right under his nose!
Surgeon Natalie Kendrick adores Jonah for helping her out, and she tries to kill the gossip floating around the hospital insinuating they are fooling around. Never! Well … maybe? At least it feels like it’s a possibility the way the air sizzles when he’s near. Will she be able to show him just how much he deserves out of life or will he be the one doling out the lessons in life’s pleasure?
I’m just loving this series so much!
You know how some romance books are good but you know there is no way things would unfold that way in real life but you are okay with it because you want to escape and enjoy the ride. I can promise this book is nothing like that!
The characters go through real life struggles and experiences. Some are full out laugh moments, some are the every day stuff, and some are those trying all you can to hold back the tear moments but the story and writing is so good you can’t stop reading.
I love to fall into a story where it feels like you are part of the town it is set in. Forget falling into the town, I felt like I became friends with the characters. I can’t wait to see what happens with my buddies. Am I experiencing a book hangover? Definitely! But so worth it.
Jonah and Natalie were so relatable to me because I saw characteristics in them that I see in myself. Did I like the wakeup call? No, not at all. Especially in the early morning hours. But it is there staring me down – the walls, the guilt of burdening, keeping my needs inside. I am notorious with I am okay response, the fake it to you make it stance and desperately trying to find the silver lining.
Will I read this book again? Darn Skippy! Will I recommend this to all my friends? Most definitely!!
Better Than Me is the second book in the Remington Medical series from Kimberly Kincaid. I adored the first book in this series and really didn’t think Ms. Kincaid could top it, and I’m happy to say I was so wrong. Better Than Me is absolutely my favorite book ever from Ms. Kincaid.
I loved everything about getting Jonah and Natalie’s story. The best friends-to-lovers troupe is a favorite of mine and it was done so well in Better Than Me. Jonah is a known commitment phobe. He loves to play the field and absolutely never brings anyone back to his apartment. Natalie is pretty much a workaholic who always looks for the bright side of everything (very much a Pollyanna). However, when Natalie has a mishap with her apartment and needs a place to stay, she immediately turns to her best friend Jonah. I seriously laughed out loud at all of his initial excuses why Natalie should try and find somewhere else to stay. It was so freaking comical especially since Natalie could counter each and every reason.
I absolutely loved that Jonah and Natalie were truly best friends before their relationship changed to a physical one. They had the best relationship and I honestly felt like them becoming lovers only brought they closer. They both seemed to share more about their pasts and their fears once they made love for the first time. I fell in love with this couple right along with them. Ms. Kincaid took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions with Better Than Me. One minute I was laughing out loud and the next I was sobbing my eyes out. I love a book that pulls so many emotions from me, and Better Than Me did it in spades.
Better Than Me was a wonderful addition to the Remington Medical series. I am already counting down the days until we get to head back to Remington Medical for the next book in the series. I highly recommend Better Than Me for fans of contemporary romance books.

A totally steamy and swoony friends to lovers romance that I could NOT put down!!
Better Than Me is book two in the Remington Medical series by Kimberly Kincaid. In the first book, Back to You, we met the two main characters of this book, Natalie and Jonah, two surgeons, best friends. Now we get their story.
Natalie Kendrick is thirty-two years old and is a pediatric surgeon at Remington Memorial Hospital. She loves what she does and she’s very good at it. Even with all of the stress and sadness that is part of her job, Nat is such an optimist. She believes in love, in finding that one person that you can share your life with. She just hasn’t found that person yet. Work takes up most of her life, and her best friend, Jonah.
Dr. Jonah Sheridan, otherwise known as The Orgasm Whisperer, is also a surgeon at Remington. He and Natalie have been best friends for years. Jonah doesn’t believe in love, for reasons he’s never shared with anyone. He is not a long term relationship guy. He’s a one and done.
When Natalie comes home to find her apartment with a bath tub in her living room that wasn’t supposed to be there, she needs a place to stay for the next six weeks while the building is repaired. With no where else to go, Jonah lets her stay with him. But, you know that two very attractive people living in close quarters that know each other better than any one else can’t help but to start to notice each other in a different way. Start to notice all those sexy muscles or her long legs and beautiful smile. They are best friends, but they’re going to be living together for the foreseeable future. What might happen if they add some benefits into the friendship?
Another thing happens while they are living together. Jonah begins to open up, to share some of his reasons for being the way he is. Little by little, Natalie’s light shines through and he feels something he hasn’t felt in a very, very long time, hope.
“Natalie’s hope wasn’t too much. It was a beacon. A lifeline. It was everything.”
These two were so adorable. In any book I read, I can’t help but to feel more love for one of the characters than the other. In this one it was Natalie. She was just so filled with goodness. I loved the influence that Nat had on Jonah. They really were perfect together. And one thing about Jonah, he may have been a player before, but when he was in, he was all in. I also loved getting some glimpses of Parker and Charlie from the first book and seeing how happy they are.
I haven’t read many medical romances but Kimberly keeps the medical aspect of it easy for people that don’t know a thing about the medical profession. I can only hope that any doctor that I might need to deal with in the future might have the same amount of compassion that these doctors have. It wouldn’t hurt if they looked as good as they do either!
“I’m here with you.”
“I have you.”
“I promise.”
This book was just delicious – friends to lovers, roommates, and a player brought to his knees. I could not get enough of these characters! I love a steamy romance with heart & soul.
Never have I been a fan of medical drama. However, every once in a while I’ll take a risk and try one on for size. Kincaid, after all, is a temptation that is not to be missed. Better Than Me proved a pleasant surprise. Heart, humor and hormones battle it out to see which one will end up on top. Jonah and Natalie put their friendship on the line and discover that when it comes to happily ever after, some things are worth waiting for. Went in a skeptic and came out a winner.
Best friends to more.
Natalie is having a manic Monday. As in she’s homeless for six weeks due to a cast iron tub that fell through her ceiling into her living room.
She’s a surgeon and her best friend is Jonah a fellow surgeon. She invites herself to stay at his place because she has no other options.
Jonah is a notorious player. Tinder hook ups and a partial night stand after a failed relationship that he was in when he met Natalie. No women in his place.
With Natalie living with him, he’s noticing her in a way he never has before.
But Natalie survived cancer as a child.
And cancer tends to come back.
Can Jonah grow up emotionally to be the man Natalie needs to be there for her?
Recommend.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Jonahand Natalie are FANTABULOUS in Better Than Me by Kimberly Kincaid!!
What is a better love story than two best friends, forced proximity, Christmas, and a man so damaged he’s decided love will never work for him?
Jonah is known as the king of the one night stands around Remington Med, but no one knows the REAL reason why. No one, not even his best friend, knows that he’s hiding his real feelings about love and loss behind Bahama blue eyes and a Hollywood smile.
Natalie is the bright side girl, she can always find a reason to be happy no matter what is going on around her. But Natalie is hiding behind an “I’m Fine” facade, not wanting anyone to have to worry about her the way her parents did when she was little.
Better Than Me is SO SWEET, so sexy, and Kimberly Kincaid made me cry HARD near the end not knowing whether Natalie would be ok, whether Jonah would learn that love is not a parlor trick that he has to prove himself worthy to receive. And the heat? WOW, Natalie & Jonah are beyond sexy throughout this book. That first kiss was beautiful, and so HOT!!
All the stars for this sweet, tender, sexy romance!! I adored every single minute!
to long, lost me quickly
sweet, appeals to the romantic in me!
I loved this book! If you like medical stories, you will enjoy this one immensely. I am definitely anxious to read more books by this author.
Author left you hanging in rush to entice you into buying the next book. Would have been nice to finish the story.
This story was adorable! And sexy and fun!
I very much enjoyed “watching” Natalie and Jonah go from the closest of friends to more one beautiful step at a time!
I did want to smack her towards the end though. They spent the whole time talking about opening up and then $hit hits the fan and and she runs?! Ugh! (Very typical strong willed female though!
I love a good friends to lovers book and this fantastic story even has some twists to that making it even more intriguing. I really enjoyed Natalie and Jonah’s story from beginning to end through the friends only, to the friends with benefits, through the heat, passion, laughs, all the different emotions and yes even the tears! It was just amazing! I love this series! It’s my new favorite by this author!
