Elsa Holland is a new author to me and I am so glad that I found her. I enjoyed the fluidity of her writing style so much. “The Russian Betrothal“ is a wonderfully written, Captivating!seductively sensual, flirty and enthralling romance. Just captivating from beginning to end!
Georgie was a fabulous character, a young woman who could hold her own against the best of them. She was strong, brave, intelligent and a romantic at heart. She even learned Russian for her Russian prince. Prince Demetri Petroski and his brother Ilya arrives in London a full week before any contact is made with Georgie or her father. This leaves her hurt and confused after a 14 year engagement. Prince Dmitri is looking for a way out of the betrothal and does everything he can to get her father to ask for an annulment. That is, until he meets her and finds in her everything he never knew he wanted. What circumstances beyond their control lead to misunderstanding, confusion and drama. I didn’t like Dimitri so much at first but he became a redeemable character who loved and respected Georgie.
The characters are beautifully created. The authors imagery and descriptive language was absolutely amazing. Her ability to pull you in to the characters thoughts, emotions and feelings was enticing. The dialogue, the witty banter between characters was so in tune to their emotions and the chemistry that sizzled between them. It was a beautiful love story that can leave you breathless.
Thank you so much Miss Holland for such a beautifully written story. I am so glad I found you and look forward to reading more of your books in the near future!

Recommend for all lovers of Historical Romance!
I love historical romances and this one was wonderful. You can’t help but fall in love with the female lead character and hate the male lead who causes her pain. This book keeps you engaged wanting to know what will happen next with this tragic couple. A very good book.
Unexpectedly Delightful
I had not read a book by this author before, so this wonderfully well-written book came as a complete and utterly enjoyable surprise. The first scenes pulled me right into the story as the author put me right there, experiencing the heroine’s confusion, anger, and sometimes inappropriate words and actions before and when she met up with her future brother-in-law… not her betrothed. (Loved the special signals her father sent when she was to check herself!) The brothers had been in London for a week, but her betrothed had not even contacted her or her family. The author writes in a deliciously immersive style, and I could not put the book down. I am an avid and voracious reader, but rarely does an author enthrall me so completely with a novel. And the cover is absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommended, and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

ONE OUTSTANDING THRILL
Hatching hellhounds! Elsa brought out the big guns for this tough as nails rollercoaster, delivering some fervent facts, duplicitous tactics and callous actions, keeping you riveted on a razors edge, propelling this jewel to a whole new level. Caught in a tangled web chocked-full of deceptive drama, captivating intrigue, callous lies, brutal lessons, swirling suspense and intense situations, along with a boatload of revelations you have one mind-blowing thrill ride, blasting this baby to life brilliantly. Blurring lines and crashing boundaries, limitations are amplified and exploited, noting the soaring ups and agonizing downs, putting our characters through their paces fusing them together flawlessly. The attraction and chemistry glides with such perfection, drawing you deeper, kicking this baby into the eye of the storm, slamming it into a tailspin with a mind-blowing culmination. The characters are complex, genuine and realistic with traits and qualities that balance and blend, with amazing depth and diversity and enough spice to add an extra kick to the mix. Throw in 100% on point realism, raising the stakes with such graphic scenarios that are so colorfully descriptive and vividly detailed its like you’re living it with them instead of on the sidelines. Incredible job Elsa, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
This is the story of Georgia and Vladimir. They have been betrothed since childhood. The imagery the author creates is amazing. The characters were fabulously written. The story flowed well and was for a me a new twist on the usual London society books. This was a great story and I could not put it down.
Wonderful. The things Vladimir did. Just a great book.

What if everything you thought you knew was wrong! A woman you were taught to hate is not what you thought! IIya has impersonated the Prince to act a rake and wild party goer! But the real Prince is nothing like that! To end this betrothal Demintri will do almost any thing! Except now that he’s met her she’s become his everything!!
My first read from the author and I like it. A historical romance when I needed one.
A strong H, I love Georgie. She’s tough, smart and a romantic.
Bethroted since she was a child to a Russian Prince, Georgie is highly dissapointed when her long waited fiancee didn’t even bother to come for her in his first arrival to London. Meanwhile he is so busy doing his “bussiness ” in every saloon in town.
Prince Demetri have only one goal since he know about his betrothed. Get annulment. Doing anything to make his money hungry, blackmail of a daughter, low station family to ask for the annulment. Cause his royal family is too much of a royal to do the first act. So the game begin.
But he never once thought his fiancee to mesmerized him so. Never thought Georgie to be so brave putting him in his place. Never thought she would be a siren who call for his soul.
Not so new story of arrange marriage in historical romance but I love the main characters so much.
Georgie is sassy in that time of the story. She drink whiskey neat. She bravely walk in the saloon just to see what makes her fiancee so enthralls. She find out how to become a woman in the art of pleasure. She put her feet down and stand up to Demetri for his respect. I admire that in a woman.
While Demetri, his prejudice are too shallow. For a Prince to put judgement and conduct things that put a lady name in dirt like he did, that’s beyond wrong. I kinda wish Georgie didn’t forgive him that easy.
Lastly, I like this book. Although for the banter specially don’t have the hisrom feels. The way the characters interact with each other, feels like a simple contemporary romance. The banter feels modern.
And the steamy scenes feel like the author holding back. I’m sure even people at that time enjoy good bedroom activity. In this book feels like the author just remember it’s hisrom and might be too much when the scene just starting to get in the good part.

Elsa Holland brings to the pages of her work The Russian Betrothal tempestuous emotions and an irresistible love story.
Demetri and Georgie’s attraction was risque and flirty but beyond that Ms. Holland’s portrayal of these characters was just as appealing for their impassioned and astute discourse. In a web of perceptions contrary to actual circumstances this couple had a lot to work through and overcome. Georgie was a fabulous heroine who tested her boundaries yet managed to keep to her society’s rigid expectations for women. Demetri’s sensitivity was masked as a prominent alpha yet his attraction and ultimately his love of Georgie allowed him to explore his softer side. In a well-orchestrated opposition between traditional and nontraditional this relationship sparked throughout this story with a constant underlying simmer that was true to this author’s seductive writing skills.
The Russian Betrothal continues to show the wide scope of this author’s talent revealing yet another side of Elsa’s Holland’s writing for a great read!
