In this USA TODAY bestselling Cinderella regency romance, a haunted lord falls for a masked, young woman who’s wrong for him in every way but one; by HOLT Medallion winning author Bree Wolf.England 1806: At a masked ball, TRISTAN TURNER, VISCOUNT ELTON, catches the glimpse of a golden-haired beauty, sneaking around their host’s townhouse. Intrigued, Tristan pursues the young lady, tempted to … young lady, tempted to believe that he might have finally found the one woman meant for him.
Determined not to let her slip through his fingers, Tristan addresses her and finds himself swept off his feet by her beguiling wit and passionate nature.
However, before the night is out, events unravel and secrets are revealed that threaten his hopes for a wife who might truly love him.
Him, not his title and fortune.
A simple country girl, BETH WALKER only came to London to uncover a secret about her past. She never meant to pose as a lady or draw the attention of a handsome, young lord. She never meant for them to be discovered or for him to feel honour-bound to ask for her hand.
And she certainly never meant to lose her heart to him.
However, neither can she resist him.
Determined to keep his new wife at arm’s length, Tristan fights to protect his wounded heart, closing his eyes to the gentle love that seems to shine in her own every time she looks at him. He does his best to ignore the sparks that fly whenever their paths cross and deny the passion that blooms whenever she touches him.
However, with each passing day, Tristan’s resolve wanes while his wife’s seems to grow in spades. Will he come out the victor in this game of hearts?

Cunning, subterfuge and well intentions help Derek achieve his goal, the hand of Lady Madeline. The romance of Derek Ainsworth and Lady Madeline flows easily. Coincidence and a threat to use Lady Adelaide as collateral at a card game embroils Matthew Baron Whitworth in a marriage of convenience to the woman he has been secretly attracted to. Complexed, interesting, and easy flowing this novel focuses on such topics as legitimacy and birthright vs blood and emotions as the true meaning of family and recovering from abuse. There are some twists and secrets but the end is ultimately heartwarming.

This is a complicated and ironic plot of desire, greed, and revenge with the dark themes of forced contractual arranged marriages, mental illness, abuse, and rape.

Violet now 18 loves her family and the life of a Privateer but coincidence, well intentions, irony, and a little subterfuge in the form of a fake marriage to Oliver the Earl of Cullingwood place Violet back in the restricting life of British Nobility and back together with the man she was promised to as a child. This is a well-written romance with a complex plot involving a meeting on the high seas, lots of drama, answered prayers, the true meaning of family, breaking with tradition, and of course true love. This novel contains some violence, expresses the harshness that can be found in the British aristocracy, is suspenseful, action-packed, and ends in a hook.
11. Book 10: Trapped and Liberated- The Privateer’s Bold Beloved also Tales of Damsels and Knights book 4: 5 stars
I received a free copy of the clean historical novella Trapped and Liberated- The Privateer’s Bold Beloved: Love’s Second Chances Book 10/Tales of Damsels and Knights book 4 by Bree Wolf and this review was given freely.
Alexandra and Antoine’s romance is one of escaping the controlling English aristocracy’s habit of selling daughters into marriage for gain and that of finding an everlasting true love when you least expect it. Seamless and smooth flow this is a complete and fulfilling sweet romance. I could feel the emotions between Antoine and his father, Antoine, and Henri and Antoine and Alexandra. This is a well-written sweet romance and an excellent precursor to Condemned and Admired or Violet’s story.
12. Book 11: Oppressed and Empowered: The Viscount’s Capable Wife also Tales of Damsels and Knights book 5:5 stars
I received a free copy of the clean historical novel Oppressed and Empowered: The Viscount’s Capable Wife: Love’s Second Chance Series Book 11/Tales of Damsels and Knights book 5 by Bree Wolf and this review was given freely.
Best if read in series. Contains social conflicts and a cliffhanger.
Evelyn and Lord Richard Ashford’s romance is a sweet historical winter-based novel of opposites both in both personality and belief in a woman’s ability to have a career, an arranged marriage, and that of hidden attraction realized. Suspenseful with some twists, multiple conflicts, an ailing father, a loving mother, an unplanned pregnancy, a well-meaning brother who guards his emotions, and a young woman advocating her right to be a Doctor are just of the few of the things that make this novel interesting while reflecting concerns of the era. Although there is a happy ending for Evelyn and Richard, this novel does end in a cliffhanger.

Complex, easy flowing, complete, and satisfying with suggestions at sequels. Emma and Finnegan are nudged by well-meaning friends who try and bring them together and thus end the seven-year misunderstanding that continues to separate them. Wonderful characters, glimpses at four vastly different romances, and of course a happy ending make this complex holiday clean romance one well worth reading.

I received a free copy of the full-length clean novel Tamed & Unleashed The Highlander’s Vivacious Wife (#13 Love’s Second Chance Series: Highland Tales Series Book 1) by Bree Wolf and this review was given freely.
Poignant and suspenseful with many twists and turns. Amnesia, a drunken encounter, a kidnapping, and the tenacity of true love fill the pages of this complex clean romance featuring Scotsman Garrett and his quest to reunite with his English wife Claudia.
I do not know how to express my thoughts and feelings about this book. Ms Bree writes about some pretty heavy psychological stuff in her books. This one regards Tristan and Beth. Both have suffered the effects of mothers who have been seriously abused by their husbands and who have since passed on although by different means. At first I thought Tristan was a woos. But as I read further I realized that he was a confused man who was being highly manipulated by his uncle. His redeeming grace was his new wife Beth and his friend/bodyguard, Derek. Tristan had a pivotal moment when he was very nearly murdered. But then we reach the end of the story and find our HEA. I highly recommend reading this book. The next book in this series is about Derek and his love interest. I’m very much looking forward to reading it.

We got Henrietta’s story earlier in the series, now it is her brother’s turn! Beth and Tristan immediately have a connection, and even though a huge misunderstanding puts them at odds for a time, they are able to overcome it and also solve the problem/mystery of why Tristan is constantly being robbed or beat up, with the help of a good friend Derek whose story is next in the series! This addition to the series helped the Turner siblings’ story to come full circle.
Wonderful story Cinderella style
Betrayed and Blessed kept my attention. It is a well written regency romance with realistic characters that I fell in love with. The heroine chooses peace over bitterness at her extreme circumstances. Very compelling read.
Bree Wolf never disappoints! i love how you get to know a little preview of a character in one book and then another in the series developes that character.
A really nice “second chance” book. Always fun to read these.
Beth and Tristan, Viscount Elton meet at a masquerade ball. Drawn together by an invisible spark, they find themselves caught in a room together and are forced to wed. Tristan’s life has been strongly influenced by his uncle who criticizes him for everything he does. His wife refuses to let his uncle’s lies come between them until it may be Tristan’s death that separates them forever. Tristan’s constant disbelieve of his uncle’s lies and treachery is a little frustrating, but everything eventually works out in the end.
all her books are super. A must read author.
Beth goes to England to find out the truth her mother had been keeping from her for most of her life. She has only one clue as to where to start her search, a letter addressed to Clementine at a home in town. She found this mysterious letter after her mother’s funeral and has no idea what the truth behind the letter is. Hoping to get some answers she ends up being mistaken for a maid and put to work in the home.
Tristan is a walking accident, or accidents seem to find him. Either way he isn’t sure how he is still alive after everything he’s been through. Forget the ton linking him to his dead father who’d gone mad, but no matter how hard he tries he can’t seem to please his uncle at all. He goes with his friend Derek to a masquerade ball in hopes of forgetting all his problems but finds what he’d been looking for all along.
Beth and Tristan marry even after it is revealed she is just a maid. His uncle is furious and he feels like he’s been duped. Beth tries to explain she didn’t set out to marry but felt an attraction to him the first time they met. She ends up helping him realize he can never please his uncle no matter how hard he tries.
Plenty of twists and turns and we get to see Henrietta again as she fights to save her brother. Also Matthew, cousin to Tristan, who gets his own storyline a few books ahead. The main storyline for Beth also continues in a further book down the series line. Another great historical read, 4 ½ stars.
Good Conclusion to Previous Story
Betrayed & Blessed was a good followup to the story of Henrietta in Bree’s Abandoned & Protected, with her brother Tristan and his wife Beth. A lot of skullduggery happening to Tristan. Treachery. Help of a good friend. Wish Tristan would have been a stronger lead character so thank goodness for Beth, the woman he married. Happy ending.
Please note: I received a copy of this book as a gift. This is an honest review of what I read.
4. Book 4: Betrayed & Blessed: The Viscount’s Shrewd Wife :5 stars

Betrayed & Blessed is a well written full length clean Regency Romance which has it all. Tristan and Elisabeth rise above family abuse and treachery to form a happy and loving marriage. Tristan’s Sister Henrietta and her husband Connor’s mad journey, to save Tristan, is continued in the end of this novel. The Dowager/Grandmother is a strong woman who is not afraid to give her opinion and is skilled in subtle manipulation and insults. Hints are given regarding who I think will be the next couple in the series. And of course, the happy ending.
A suspenseful Regency romance, this book is well written but at times I found myself getting frustrated with the hero Certainly Tristan displays the results of a lifetime of conditioning and brainwashing, making one realise just how scary propaganda of any type can be. Beth on the other hand has lived in the shadows, not understanding that her life is very different to what it could have been. Both young people have been living a lie, but in her way Beth is the stronger of the two personalities. Fortunately Tristan has a faithful friend in Derek, who realises that someone is plotting against Tristan, but circumstances are manipulated so cleverly that the truth remains hidden. It is only when events culminate in a crisis that the blinkers eventually come off and Tristan can see the truth of the matter. Although this book is part of a series, it is nevertheless a standalone. I does help the reader to read the books in order as this story builds on previous books. This novel does however come to a satisfactory conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
DON’T BLINK OR YOU’LL MISS IT!!!
A well written, easy to follow, heart pounding, mouth dry and lies galore tale with surprises around every corner. With so many twists and turns its hard to catch your breath. A world where nothing is as it seems and hidden dangers at every turn. This is one read that will keep your attention and your seat until the last word.
Short review. Another wonderful edition to the Love’s Second Chance series. The chemistry between Tristan and Beth is full of so much passion and love, it’s easy to see why they are instantly drawn to each other. I admired Beth’s resolve to not give up fighting to free Tristan from the hold that those who meant to do him harm had on him, both her and Derek are the type of people you want in your life. I felt so bad for Tristan, all he wanted was to be loved by his family and to not be seen in the same bad light as his father. His struggle to see the truth and release himself from the hold of manipulation by those he trusted most was moving, luckily for him he had two people in his corner who were willingly to stand beside him and fight with him for control of not only his life but his happiness and love.
She writes lovely stories.
very wordy..long
I was disappointed. The other books in the series were much more better.
Fresh & entertaining
