Sometimes the worst betrayals are committed by family.I was on the verge of a career in professional baseball, and anything was possible. It was my chance to break free from the bonds of family duty and live my life for me.Then the unthinkable occurred. One night—one random event—and my dream was taken from me, ripped away by the callous actions of my father.Blood is a bond—and a curse. Broken in … father.
Blood is a bond—and a curse. Broken in body and spirit, I sacrificed my integrity and sold my soul for a lie—to protect the man who wouldn’t do the same for me.
Trust was my sin. Silence was my penance. Hope was my salvation.

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. This book has been quite unique, the different emotions that you go through. I found Ian and Finn were brothers and had the interactions of best mates. Connor the father treated Mason a lot better than he did for Finn and Ian. This book was so worth reading just make sure to have tissues.

I had a great time with this book. The characters are well developed and engaging and the chemistry is undeniable between the couple. I enjoyed the easy flow of the storyline.

This was a very emotional read, Cillian (Ian) just had a troubled family, down to his brother , who knows he can get away with murder, and his father who destroy his future . Ian just couldn’t get a break at all . This was a very emotional read but a good read,

What an emotional rollercoaster this book turned out to be. It’s mt first time reading this author, I liked the book cover and the blurb and so I decided to give it a go and I’m extremely happy that I did. This is a pretty short book, so it moves along at a nice steady pace to get through all the secrets, twists and turns, there is never a dull moment.

From the beginning I felt the main character Cillian (Ian) had to have the worst family in the world, or was the worlds biggest idiot for not learning his lesson. First, his brother who gets away with everything totals his car and guess what, Ian takes the blame after being beaten by his own father to spare his brothers future (Hello, Ian has a future too,) and even after the beating he takes the blame?? Then years later his father forces him to date a total nutcase but I won’t spoil anything, but knowing his father was willing to destroy his future once, why wouldn’t he again? Then to top it off his new boss uses all his screw ups which were not even his screw ups just ones he covered for to you guess it, destroy his life! Ugh!! Smarten up Ian!! Then, the ending and Epilogue, unless there is another book after this I would say I don’t know how to feel about this ending. It was so open, there was no closure. *scratches head* It was a great story, but it was a chain of just bad decisions and you knew the train wreck was just waiting to happen, I kept thinking oO(the rails are shaken Ian, pull the breaks and get off this crazy train!! )

I’m A Dancing Monkey….

To my father appearances were all that mattered according to him we only existed to make him look good.
Seriously he bought one of my younger brother’s a sport’s car yeah he’ll either get a ticket or wrap it around a tree.
And top of that I’m suppose to babysit at some stupid party.
He’s trying to kill us and anyone else who might unfortunately cross our path.
I told them two hours tops and its already been one.
Okay and I’m suppose to fall for that yeah right I don’t have daddy tattooed on my forehead besides I’m friend’s with her brother so nope not happening.
Then everything went to Hades in a freaking hand basket and nothing was ever going to be the same.
Losing my scholarship hurt I’ll never have the chances I once had so I’m willing to make a deal with the devil himself my father to get me and Fin away from him and I don’t care anymore how I have to do it just as long as were able to leave.
I wasn’t going to kick him out or even condemn him for telling me the truth he’s my family. However being young I’d just wished he’d used better judgement I can understand how someone could influence his decisions. I’d never been so scared in my life and all I could think was how much I needed our mom.
Even I still have moments were I royally screw up and yeah consuming mass quantities of alcohol didn’t help or
especially waking up the next morning and not remembering how I ended up next to her.
For some dumb reason my father continues to try and suck me back into his universe and now he wants me to date the girl I’d been talking to tonight.
Okay but its my way or not at all.
But nope I’m not going to let him brow beat me into being a good little poppet.
Never once did I lie about what I considered our so called relationship to be I’d been up front and honest its not my fault she’s a stuck up spoiled brat.
Once again someone thinks I’m going to fall in line yeah right I’m so tired of being a dancing monkey she’ll have to provide to me she’s not lying.
