Oh, how this effusive plot pulls you in, plunges you beneath the smoke and mirrors, and leaves you with a gnashing set of teeth to gnaw your way out.
This compelling, sexy story befits its empowered heroine, evoking something intrinsic about the loneliness of life in a wealthy and powerful family. Wealth and power doesn’t always provide stability. In Alex’s case, it might very well result in ruination.
But Alex is strong. Determined. Admirable. She makes drastic decisions, not without cautious hesitancy but with a daring amount of ambition. She’s the kind of heroine you love to root for. You want her to succeed. To overcome her family’s pressures. To muscle through her financial struggles. To find love. To find happiness with a man who doesn’t have a last name.
Nox is mysterious, dashing, devoted, and he’s not going to let her go. AR wanted to leave you wanting more at the conclusion of this book, and holy hell, she succeeded. I read the last page with a smile, a ragged sigh, and a whole lot of clenching WANT in my gut. She gives just enough to satisfy the heart…with a string attached, one she pulls ever-so-slightly with those delicious last words.
I absolutely love everything this author writes. She is the best at spinning a tale, building angst and mystery. She keeps you wanting and when she finally delivers, you still want more. This book as all that and more.
Amazing story. Very well written. Great characters, the good and the bad.
I love an author that can write with enough detail to make you feel as if you know the characters and the locations. The anger, sadness, happiness, frustration and passion. I loved and cant wait to read more of her work.
This book omg loved it . I would like me some Nox . Read the whole series .
This book was wonderful! I loved Charli/Alex as she goes for One Week incognito to relax and chill and meets Nox. They were two strangers, no last names, who had an instant connection that neither could deny. They were like fireworks together! Their chemistry!! One amazing week, then go their separate ways. No contact.
Alex returns home and is told she is to marry a man she doesn’t love by her controlling stepfather and shell of a mother who seems to be slipping away. She feels like a virtual pawn in her stepfather’s game. Her trust fund is gone and she has no money to go to Law School.
Alex is not without resources. She will not be played like a violin to help Bryce look good after he has sexual abuse charges against him. She has her first semester paid and decides to figure out a way to pay for her own school. Her cousin and his boyfriend have a solution, but can she go through with it?
Nox can’t get her out of his mind. He broke his own rules for Charli and he NEVER does!! He gave her the opportunity to contact him and he is so disappointed when she ghosts him. But then an opportunity comes that drops her right in his lap!! What a cliffhanger!
This is a great start to the Infidelity Series and you will be so engulfed in this series as everything this amazing woman writes is perfection!
Loved the series and the characters
This was the first book I read by Aleatha and I was hooked. Nox is so magnetic, sexy and mysterious that you just have to keep turning the pages to see what happens next. I devoured this book, and this series!
>.>read this aaand enjoyed every page from beginning to end !!!
Why am I only reading this now???
What I book! I’m luvin this author at the minute. I don’t know why I haven’t read her sooner. This story was just so good. I read this series a lil out of order which totally kills me. But this time it worked in my favour. I read Respect as an arc (it’s out on the 23rd Jan) which is a prelude to this book. It’s an amazing book by the way. Anyway back to this book. I got to know Nox a lil and I really liked him. So I had to read this to know more about what happened with him. I was quite surprised how this story went but totally luvd it.
Alex, Alexandria or Charli with an I she is known as. Is a brilliant character. She is a very complex character she is trying so hard to be her own woman. There are just so many people trying to make her a person she didn’t want to be. But having the Montague name comes with consequences. But she has had enough she wants to live her own life. Living in the house with her stepfather and mother was hard work and she didnt want it anymore. Alexandria was gone she didn’t want to be the girl or woman. She would now him and he her own woman and but know as Alex. Alex was stronger and would work hard to do things for herself and get the career she wanted. But Alex still held back a lil bit. So she decided that she needed a well earned getaway and her best friend Chelsea was so up for it. She just didn’t expect to have the week of her life.
This book has so many twists in it were great. I didn’t see the ending working out like that at all it was brilliant. It’s made me dying to read Cunning. So many things have been left open I m dying to read it. My heart went out to Alex she had to put up with so cheap from her family. Even at a young age she had to deal with her mother and stepfather trying to control her life. Then goin home at 23 she still has them making her life hard. She just wanted to be herself. Then she had feelings towards Nox after an amazing week with him. But they had rules so she didn’t think she would see him again. Alex just didn’t know who she was dealing with.
I would highly recommend this book. Everything about it was so good. Like I said I can’t wait to read more from this author and series.
It made me look for more. Buy it you will be touched.
Mind blowing!
I’m a mixture of mad for taking me so long to start this author (I have so much of her work to catch up) and exhilarated for getting to know her work, which is unbeliavably flawless.
The plot was enticing and addictive, the writing was spetacular and the characters were all consuming, each in their own way. I’m well aware that I’m splurging on big words and compliments, yet it doesn’t feel like enough.
The whole story was magnetic, and the back and forth of time only added to the appeal.
Whenever “I was” at Montague Manor, I caught myself being wary, cautious, edgy, even if there wasn’t a conflict going on at the time, but I could feel there was something shady lurking behind the scenes and that was enough to keep me on my toes.
But in Del Mar, I was all gooey, sucking up in the sexiness that was Nox and Charli.
They were explosive together, their connection was enthralling and their chemistry was scorching hot. And it wasn’t just physical. Their feelings grew deeper than that, in an understanding that didn’t require explanations.
They were emotionally and mentally connected, there was respect and trust between them, even if their time was so short. It was a dichotomy: time was of the essence because they needed more from one another, but it was also unecessary because it didn’t take long for them to be important for each other.
I’m totally hooked in this series and I’m starving for more.
I loved this entire series!
One of the best series I’ve ever read. Couldn’t get enough of it and it cost me some sleepless nights because I couldn’t put the books down. The story is beyond interesting, the characters are great and you just can’t help but feel and live the story as if you are a part of it. It doesn’t happen very often because I’m usually picky, but this series really got me.
I couldn’t put this book down. I enjoyed it much more than 50 Shades. Will be reading more.
She wants to get away from it all even if it’s only for a week, but then she meets Lennox (Nox) Demetri and can’t resist. Even if it’s only for a week, and on her terms.
Even though this story spreads across multiple books, I was invested enough to want to buy the next 2 or 3 in the series. I like how the author introduces different POVs from different times in the subsequent books. Looking forward to seeing how it all ties together.
Great series. Got all 5 books.
Loved the characters, and the story moved fast enough that I couldn’t put it down. I read the whole series. That said, it was distracting and irritating that the author seemed not to know when to use I or me, and guessed wrong much of the time. She nearly consistently left out “in” when describing a direction, i.e. turned my direction instead of in my direction. I’ve never seen or heard this anywhere before, but it happened a lot. Who says that? I would have given the book 5 stars but for these curious grammatical idiosyncrasies.
Infidelity is a 5-book series from Aleatha Romig. Alexandria Collins, the heir to a tobacco fortune, flees to California for college. She wants distance from her dysfunctional family and all the trappings of the old south in her hometown of Savannah. Alex knows her time away from her family is going to be short-lived and she reinvents her self as “Charli” and has a fling with a mysterious older man. Lennox Demetri is king of the New York underworld and is charmed by the young beauty who insists on one week, no personal information.
I really enjoyed this series even though I felt like 5 books was sort of a lot. The angst between Alex and Lennox and drama around whether he can free her from her crazy family drags out for a long time. I did really enjoy the two main characters and the author spends a lot of time developing secondary characters and telling their stories. The books are really well written and I finished off all five of them in about two and a half days.
Buying the remaining 4 books with the set was so worth it!
