HartMy Prez thinks I betrayed his trust . . . but I didn’t.I did the only thing I could think of at the time. I went to the one person who just might believe my ass – the national charter Prez, Rancid. Fortunately for me, he believed every word I told him and had me lay low for a while. The plan he made was foolish at best and got me in deeper shit than I was in before. I’m a dead man, but none …
I’m a dead man, but none of it matters when my eyes see the one thing I’d gamble with.

A great start to this series. I could not put the book down once I started. I loved all the characters. I look forward to more in this series.

The start of a new series has so much layers that will have you invested in the series. Gamble finds herself the President of the MC club, but twist and surprises keeps popping up to make for an entertaining and suspenseful read. There isn’t any roses to this storyline with danger and death starting from the first pages until the end, but there is light at the end of the tunnel for Gamble and his name is Hart. They find their happy for now and I have a feeling that there is more to come in the next book of this series that doesn’t disappoint.
Elizabeth Knox blew me away with her first array into the Royal Bastards MC series!
While Ms. Knox is not one to shy away about the more difficult topics we face in our society, this book talks about, and shows, rape, drug use, murder, and more.
The woman in this book is made President of the Baltimore Chapter of the Royal Bastards as a joke, but she shows she has bigger balls than most of the men around her, and it leads up quite nicely to the sequel, Rely on Me.
If you can’t handle sensitive topics, DO NOT read this book, or the next as that one as it is supposed to be even more violent.
I have most of Ms. Knox’s books, and read all that I have. I can’t wait to read Rely on Me, the next one in this series.
The Royal Bastards collaboration is beyond PHENOMENAL!! And Ms. Knox’s part is out of this world!!
A quick read that’s chock full of everything you know you’re going to get from an MC book. Action, attitude, assault, snark, intrigue, twists and turns, the story is intense for sure.
Just when you think Rancid couldn’t get worse, he does. He sets Gamble up to fail from the beginning, but no matter what kind of crap gets thrown her way, she has a way of coming out on top, time and time again.
My only regret from this book? I wish it were longer, it felt like the story was just getting rolling and *bam* wrapped up. Guess that’s why we read the next one!
Drama, betrayal, secrets. Lust at first sight this is everything this book has and then some, I can not believe the ride we are taken on and it is just the first book I can not wait for the next one.
Another amazing MC read! I absolutely loved this book. So many emotions in this book that I could feel as I read each page.
Wow – what a woman. She has gone through so much and she is still given the worst hand called life you can imagine. How it is possible that she is still standing straight and with so much power I am so impressed. I don’t want to give spoiler on Gamble and her life or the club but this is definitely something else. Just one little thing I need to say: she is meeting an old friend of hers which I am not a big fan of until now – I know her story comes soon and now I can’t wait to read that.
I love how all the MC’s are connected to each other some have stronger connection and some you’ll know have something big coming. I can’t wait to read more of all them. Thanks Elizabeth Knox for letting me forget my real life for a bit

This was a hard read for me. I liked the plot of the story but I felt like I didn’t have enough of the back story to really be engaged. Gamble had a rough life and instead of reading about it, I felt like we were just told about it. I really needed more. I also felt like it ended on a cliffhanger, which is a no go for me. Hopefully the series will get better. I will continue to read this author’s work but this one was a struggle.
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book. I will continue to support your work.
This book has left me hungry for more. Man I thrive on MC story’s when you add Gamble and Hart into the mix only makes it better. I’m definitely going to put a dent in my budget buying all the Royal Bastards MC books.

Bet On Me is book 1 in the Royal Bastards MC: Baltimore, MD written by the talented author Elizabeth Knox. Who doesn’t love hot sexy bikers, strong heroine and wonderful characters. Gamble and Hart are two interesting people! This was a sensitive fast-paced story with action, very bad men, intrigue, abuse, kidnapping, lots of twists and turns. I can’t wait for more of the Royal Bastards MC!! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Twisted, a little bit sick and violent to start, panning out to a story of a woman coming into her own after years of abuse and loss. She is strong and has suffered much now she needs to win over a male orientated world and figure out who is the cause of the betrayal.
It is a fast paced story that will have you turning page after page until you run out of pages! Outstanding story line although it is quite a rough ride and you will feel your hatred for Rancid grow by the second, what happens to Gamble makes her who she is today.
This book is very well written with a story line that will intrigue you, capture you, play your emotions like a cat with a mouse! The characters will have you either loving them or hating them. These are bad men, but some are good bad men and it is those that you will find yourself drawn to. An excellent read and I highly recommend this book. I cannot wait to see what comes next for this MC, I first read this as part of a 26 book, author of first books in chapters of the Royal Bastards across the country.

Elizabeth Knox has written another great book. This book is about a 15 year old girl taken from everything she has ever known and survived being held captive and being physically and mentally abused. With all the abuse Gamble went through she grew into a strong capable woman. Gamble is put in the position as president of the Baltimore chapter of the Royal Bastards MC. Come read about her trials and tribulations as she tries to run the club and build alliances. This book was a page turner for me. Can hardly wait for Book 2 of this series.
The story line was good, the character work was terrific and the book had a fairly smooth flow to it. This was a great start to a series and I look forward to seeing what happens next.

Gamble witnessed the murder of her family and entire club as a young girl and kidnapped by Rancid. Rancid raped her repeatedly for years and finally sent her to the Baltimore charter where she fell in love with Dog. Dog is killed and Rancid thinking it would hurt Gamble more makes her president of the Baltimore charter thinking nobody would like her being a woman president. Enter Hart, he left his club because Petros the president was after him, he went to Rancid for help and Rancid sent him to Baltimore. There is not as much chemistry between Gamble and Hart as I would have liked and the story was not really finished at the end. All in all I did enjoy this book and can’t wait until Rancid gets his!!

I purchased this book via Amazon and am leaving my review voluntarily. I usually like this authors work but for me, this story did not work. 3 stars because I like the author. 2 stars for the actual story.
Triggers: torture, murder, rape, unprotected sex, kidnapping
**spoilers**
So this was supposed to be Harts story and I guess it was in the sense he was in it some. Really this was about Gambler and she was annoying.
Gambler saw her whole family tortured and murdered. She herself was “spared” at age 15 and made a sex toy by Rancid (a complete unlikeable sh**bag) who is the Royal Bastards National Chapter President.
After years of captivity, abuse, and rape, Rancid sends her “home” to Baltimore. She falls in love with a MC Prez there, Dog, but any happiness is short lived as they are both called to Rancid. He tortures/stabs Dog, then Gambler shows mercy to Dog and ends his suffering. Rancid then names Gambler the new Prez for Baltimore and declares her the personal whore to all the MC Presidents. First up is Heavy who takes turns with Rancid raping her in front of everyone.
[— everyone hates Rancid. Why hasn’t someone killed him yet? ]
Back in Baltimore Gambler announces she’s the new Prez. Blah blah nonsense, then Hart shows up after having been runnoff from Petros’ club [at around 35%?].
There is no relationship and no real connection between Gambler and Hart. She announces shes pregnant and says its Rancids. (Um, she’s only a couple weeks pregnant and had unprotected rapes from 2 men. Either could be the sperm donor) Hart and Gambler do a bit of light flirting and then they have sex at the 69% mark.
Some drama, a kidnapping then Hart and Gambler are going to be a couple.
What a good book. This is about a couple of MC. Just by his name Rancid you can almost tell he is not a nice guy AT ALL. He burned down a club house and took the only living family member for his own personal “TOY”. Gamble was the little girl he took and held her captive for 10 years. He let her go and did somethings that hurt her more then anything. Once Rancid decides something its word. He made Gamble the head of the Baltimore MC. Rancid also killed the love of her life, Dog. She is dealing with a lot when Hart comes into the picture. Hart makes her see she can still love Dog but open her heart to love another. Which she does with Hart. I can’t wait to read the next book to this series.

I was super excited to read this story. I definitely wasn’t disappointed as I loved this story.
Gamble and Hart.. two interesting characters. I loved the dynamics between them.
Brilliant storyline. I felt it was an intense read with plenty of twists and turns that had my head in a spin.
I can’t wait to read more of this series.
This story was dark and gritty and it had plenty of blood shed. Gamble has experienced a tortured and humiliating past at the hands of Rancid. He destroyed her family and her hopes for a future. Hart is an unexpected love. They’ve both had loss in their lives and have the scars to prove it. What an amazing start to the Baltimore Chapter of the Royal Bastards MC. I look forward to reading what will happen next.
First off, I want to warn those that are sensitive to triggers – this one has a few which includes rape. So if you are sensitive to these types triggers, please tread carefully.
Now – getting into this book. This is the first book I have read by Elizabeth that missed the mark for me, I have loved all of her works but this one just didn’t do it like the others. I have never wanted to see a book character annihilated as quickly as I wanted to see Rancid getting what he deserved after doing everything that he did to Gamble and other ladies. Where is the retribution?! Gamble’s heartbreaking backstory felt so rushed, Hart is a mystery – we only get a glimpse as to why he is hiding out and a little glimmer of his past (I really want to know more about his backstory), and then boom – the two of them hook up. There is a little filler (that’s how it honestly felt to me) story and then we are at the end. When I reached the end, I honestly yelled out “That’s it?!”.
The good things about this are a few of the side characters I hope to see get a story of their own, the action (what little that happens) is well written, Hart being a true man when it comes to claiming something (once you read it, you’ll understand what I mean) and Gamble being a true bada** heroine.
