The beloved New York Times bestselling novel, now with an exclusive letter from Jennifer Crusie in celebration of its tenth anniversaryThis is New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Crusie’s novel about long shots, risk management, true love, and great shoes. . . .Minerva Dobbs knows how to work the odds.Calvin Morrisey always plays to win. But when they face off, neither one is … win.
But when they face off, neither one is prepared.
Because when real life meets true love, all bets are off. . . .
Minerva Dobbs knows that happily-ever-after is a fairy tale, especially with a man who asked her to dinner to win a bet, even if he is gorgeous and successful Calvin Morrisey. Cal knows commitment is impossible, especially with a woman as cranky as Min Dobbs, even if she does wear great shoes and keep him on his toes. When they say good-bye at the end of their evening, they cut their losses and agree never to see each other again.
But fate has other plans, and it’s not long before Min and Cal meet again. Soon they’re dealing with a jealous ex-boyfriend, Krispy Kreme doughnuts, a determined psychologist, chaos theory, a freakishly intelligent cat, Chicken Marsala, and more risky propositions than either of them ever dreamed of. Including the biggest gamble of all—true love.

Bet Me. Fabulous.
If you see this author ‘s name….BUY THE BOOK… no one, and I mean NO ONE..does romcom better. I have read every book she’s put out and never been disappointed. Just wish she would put a new one out there.
I never read a book by Jennifer Cruise before, but this one had me hooked. It was so cute and quirky I fell in love with both the characters and the author. I really enjoy a good funny romantic comedy. They are usually not done well, but this one really was perfect. It was a wonderful book, and one I hated to see end. I highly recommend it.
Great fun
Well it wasn’t one of those books that I couldn’t put down and actually, it took a while to get into it. But I rarely give up on a book once chosen and so I persevered and it was very satisfying at the end. I like the fact that our protagonist was not perfect, she was fairly difficult and according to her, overweight. And yet, the gorgeous man who was attracted to her was equally attracted to her body. That alone is worth the read.
A fairy tale based story, very funny and charming. Love Jennifer Cruise
I don’t believe I’ve ever give Ms. Crusie less than 4 stars.
Love Jennifer Cruise and this book.

Jennifer Cruisie is one of my favorite authors
Big fan of Jennifer Crusie – quick & fun read
I bought this book many years ago while on a business trip in the US. I devoured it in a couple of hours, I just had to know how this wonderful story about a bet would end. And nearly every year I pick up this book and read it again. Especially at stressful times. I like the main characters and how they act. And my mouth waters when i read about the meals that are woven into the story.
Jennifer Crusie is the only romance author I like. There may others as good but I have not found them..
I love all of Jennifer Crusie’s books!
Got a complicated family? A mother who only loves supermodel daughters? Boyfriends with families that could sink the Titanic? Big fat jerks of exs? All of this and more and yet one of the funniest midwest romances ever. I do wish Crusie could write another of her sidesplitters. And I firmly believe that romance and humor are regional. Try comparing Carolyn Brown’s Texas romances with Crusie’s Ohio stories, a huge difference in outlook ,religion and politics and yet both are very good writers but if I could buy only one it would be Crusie.
