A hot & hilarious STANDALONE romantic comedy for fans of Sophie Kinsella, Lauren Blakely, and Julia Kent!“The only thing more humiliating than a guy falling asleep face-down in my crotch would be if he died there… Oh my god, is he DEAD?”All I wanted was little old-fashioned romance. After a parade of Tinder disasters who think chivalry is giving me a pearl necklace on the first date, I made … first date, I made a pledge: until guys step up their game, this girl is off the market.
But one bottle of chardonnay later, and my drunken rant has gone viral. I’m the most famous person NOT having sex since the Jonas Brothers put on their purity rings. A men’s magazine has even put a bounty on my (ahem) maidenhead: fifty Gs to whoever makes me break the drought.
Be careful what you wish for… Now my office looks like an explosion in a Hallmark factory, I’ve got guys lining up to sweep me off my feet – and the one man I want is most definitely off-limits. Jake Weston is a player through and through. He’s also the only one who sees through the mayhem to the real me, but how can I trust he’s not just out to claim the glory?
And how will I make it through the strike without scratching the itch – especially when that itch looks so damn good out of his suit?

Fun read
This is a good story..except for all the freaking eating. I’m a chunky chick. I eat, but honestly, when you are stuffing your face constantly in a story, order room service after a full steak dinner, and stuff cupcakes into your purse as you are running away.. Please… I get it’s suggesting she is a chunky chick.. but can we stop eating long enough to get to the story?
I loved the other books in this series and when you remove all the eating, I loved this story..
This is a very cute read ….. made me laugh and I enjoyed the characters. Light and quick read.
I couldn’t put this book down. Enjoyed very much
fun and easy to read – great characters – very entertaining
Good, captivating read. Use of the f””” word, was too overused.
Okay, this was a new author for me and I am a sucker for a good romantic comedy and this book was truly HILARIOUS. I found myself smiling and laughing out loud on several occasions. I thoroughly enjoyed this book for its awesome and witty banter. I will say, there were a few times I got a little ruffled by Jake. First off, he really ticked me off when he didn’t recognize Lizzie from there almost drunken hook up. I mean I know they were drunk but what they did prior (the revenge plot) was pretty memorable! It just made me mad for Lizzie. I also hated the fact Lizzie really wasn’t on his radar until like Chapter 18…I mean, the first 40% of the book I kept thinking–he is even into her? HOWEVER, KEEP READING!! Jake totally redeems himself –LOVED this book and this author!!!!
(SPOILER AND TRIGGER WARNING!)
I really enjoyed this novel. It was light and entertaining. Because I am familiar with the places referenced, I had a little extra pleasure.
But there’s an important plot point I find troubling.
After the heroine’s video’d vow of celibacy goes viral, a popular men’s magazine offers a substantial cash bounty to the man who gets her in bed. This is the central plot element.
In the real world, it’s almost impossible to find a woman who has not endured some level of sexual abuse, from rape (one of every three or four) to sexual harassment. Women walk through life constantly aware that we are considered prey. We cannot be certain of the protection of law, and the judicial system will more than likely ensure our public humiliation. Rapists occupy high positions in government. Most men are more concerned about the small risk of false accusations than they are concerned about the vast number of women suffering actual crimes.
Consequently, while I enjoyed this entertaining book I was at the same time disturbed by its insensitive treatment of such a painful and widespread issue.
I chuckled my way through “Bet Me” (nook) while occasionally weeping. I enjoyed this (mostly) light-hearted story which ended in a HEA.
Although I am not a fan of cussing, this is the fourth (4th) book I’ve read by Lila Monroe. I just ignore the words.
I just love Lila Monroe’s humor and BET ME is another winning romcom with a witty, snarky and intelligent Lizzie looking for a silver screen Hollywood romance. Jake comes along and she realizes he’s a guy she had a hot, disastrous and hysterical first encounter and seeing him again makes it hard not to think about it.
This book has a very engaging story and the romance is built on such great chemistry. I just loved both of these characters when they were at their best and when they were at their worst. You won’t want to put this down once you start reading BET ME.
Tripe. Don’t waste your time.
I loved this book. I am going to read more books by this author.
Another first person POV read I loved!
Lizzie is a little old-fashion when it comes to dating, all she wants is a little romance with her sex. After a few dates by the way of Tinder turn out to be disasters she throws in the towel and makes a drunken pledge to go on strike to not have sex until men can improve themselves and show a girl a little respect and romance. This pledge goes viral and she’s the talk of NYC. Other women take up the strike as well and men start lining up to get the bounty of the $50 K that has been placed on her as the prize by a men’s magazine.
Lizzie is the a curator at a art museum and Jake Weston has been enlisted to help her attain some of the items needed for her debut show. Jake is a first rate player but he’s also gets to know the real Lizzie but she’s not sure she can trust him. They each fight the sexual attraction until they are obsessed with one another. Lizzie must decide if scratching her itch with Jake is the real thing and Jake must decide if she is worth the chase.
Really enjoyed this book. Good characters, modern concept. Worth your time.
This book is amazing
Bet Me by Lila is fabulously funny sexy laugh out loud journey with Lizzie and Jake ! 4.5 fabulous stars!
Lizzie and Jake had a brief escapade one night on New Years Eve several years ago after Lizzie found herself jilted and left in the dumps by her long time boyfriend. A night of drinking and debauchery that neither one have all the pieces too!
We are now brought to present day and Lizzie is a curator at the local museum that is presenting a new exhibit . I think that you know where this is going . Having only exchanged emails and phone calls with her off site co-worker she is shall we say quite stunned when a blast from the past blows in as Jake!
Lizzie is stunned but continues her professionalism. She is unsure if he actually remembers her and she certainly won’ be asking!
Lizzie continues her quest in the dating pool she is a romantic at heart and believes in happily ever after . She soon realizes that the dating pool is filled with smucks and wham bam thank you mam cave men. Following another disappointing evening she finds herself in the bottom a chardonnay bottle and enjoying a drunken rant regarding her dating escapades or lack their of. She soon realizes has the haze lifts in the morning she may have accidently hit the live button on her rant and not just left a message for a friend.
Now shall we say that her phone is ringing off the hook with suitors to prove her wrong or is it just game to them ! Jake is sitting back and watching this all unfold and soon realizes that their is so much more to Lizzie than just a pretty face and he certainly does remember the night he and Lizzie shared so long ago.
The more time he spends with her the more he hates the men knocking down her door!
Loved the witty banter, sizzling sexual tension and laugh out loud situations they find themselves in ! Another winner from the lovely Lila !!

This is one of those books you’ll read again and again. Lila Monroe doesn’t disappoint.
Lucky in Love by Lila Monroe was one of those funny love stories about the girl who takes the player. Sort of. It’s a good twist on the trope, and I really enjoyed it. There were some things I had problems with, but really they’re just nit-picky annoyances that only bother me. I recommend it.
