A hot & hilarious STANDALONE romantic comedy for fans of Sophie Kinsella, Lauren Blakely, and Julia Kent!“The only thing more humiliating than a guy falling asleep face-down in my crotch would be if he died there… Oh my god, is he DEAD?”All I wanted was little old-fashioned romance. After a parade of Tinder disasters who think chivalry is giving me a pearl necklace on the first date, I made … first date, I made a pledge: until guys step up their game, this girl is off the market.
But one bottle of chardonnay later, and my drunken rant has gone viral. I’m the most famous person NOT having sex since the Jonas Brothers put on their purity rings. A men’s magazine has even put a bounty on my (ahem) maidenhead: fifty Gs to whoever makes me break the drought.
Be careful what you wish for… Now my office looks like an explosion in a Hallmark factory, I’ve got guys lining up to sweep me off my feet – and the one man I want is most definitely off-limits. Jake Weston is a player through and through. He’s also the only one who sees through the mayhem to the real me, but how can I trust he’s not just out to claim the glory?
And how will I make it through the strike without scratching the itch – especially when that itch looks so damn good out of his suit?

Really well written
Very enjoyable book. I plan to buy from this author again. Thanks for introducing me to her work.
A laugh out loud book with great characters.
Lizzie and Jake the chemistry was certainly there for these two. Interesting story and a great cast of characters.
4.5’s
You know sometimes when you just want to kick yourself for being stupid? Yeah that’s me right now. I have had this book on my kindle app for ages and it kept getting pushed down with my recent purchases. I was on the hunt for a good funny romcom and saw this one and said let’s do it! And now I want to kick myself that I didn’t read it earlier to give me all the laughs. And being in the current covid lockdown environment, that’s all I want to read at the moment, laughs laughs and more laughs and this one hit the spot.
So many things I loved about it, the setting in NYC which is one of my favorite cities I have visited. The heroine Lizzie is someone I would hung with and crack up laughing at all day. The hero, Jake was a little jaded by his parents relationship but he was still extremely adorable. Their first encounter might not be what cements their bond but when they meet up again and have to work together we get to see more of their dynamic which was sweet, funny and the banter kept me up to the wee hours of the night to finish.
With Lizzie on strike, and Jake thinking he wasn’t a romantic, most of their interactions are work related but the sexual tension is bubbling up and about to burst like a champagne bottle. I related to Lizzie a lot, we could be twins, I love romance and adore the old classic movies and chivalry should not be dead! And even if Jake didn’t see it right away, I did, he was very swoon worthy, he never took advantage of Lizzie and he definitely had her best interest at heart. He tried to stop the bounty but we can all see where that was going to lead to and he took his punishment well. How they reconciled from that, the way they navigated their own emotions and worked out their dilemma wasn’t forced or over dramatic which I hate, it felt very natural and true to their characters. I love a good epilogue, they have to give me a sense of what their future will be like and I need to know that they are going stay together, and this one did just that.
Don’t make the same mistake I did and let this one sit on your shelf unread, pick it up, sit back and have a good laugh at Lizzie and her strike and swoon with the rest of us as Jake protects his girl.
I liked this book, very entertaining.
A little crass as times, but this book was so good! Truly original and Funny! Really, really like this author. 5 stars!
Not a fan of the language and content.

They are fun together and have lots of chemistry. I enjoyed this fun, interesting story.
A fun book!!!
Very good, but predictable
Loved the characters
I always enjoy her books. The characters are always entertaining.
Excellent
Loved it. I know people like this.
Not good
This is an ok simple read. But the story did not compel me to keep turning the pages. It took a long time to finish it. It just didn’t motivate me.
It was a fun book in contrast to thrillers and mysteries
One of those delightful reads that makes a great afternoon escape
Loved the story line. It’s funny and that makes the characters feel real.
