Meet Julia and Ava. The next year will change their lives forever.
Sometimes revenge is the only choice. . .
Julia worked for weeks planning the perfect surprise birthday party for her boyfriend, Liam, but that night, she was the one who got the biggest shock. He broke up with her in front of all their friends, humiliating her in the process.
Clearly revenge was in order.
The plan is simple. … plan is simple. Make him jealous, win him back, and then crush his heart. Fair is fair. However, there is one little hiccup, and he has curly brown hair and dimples.
Jesse is everything she wants. With him, she could almost forget her bruised heart. Almost. Julia has one choice: let Liam walk away after everything he did, or lose a chance at love in pursuit of payback.

Julia wanted to get back at Liam, for the way he broke up with her at the party she threw for him. In front of all those friends That is until Jesse came into the picture. Then Jesse was all she could think about. And Liam and Ava, well, sometimes things have a way of backfiring on you when you least expect it. Fun read

This is the first book in the series and starts off with a bang. The characters are well developed and engaging and the storyline is well written with a sassy heroine and the guy she is meant to be with.

Julia gets dumped by her boyfriend in front of all their friends at a party she has thrown for him. Wanting to pay him back for humiliating her she sets about to make him jealous so he’ll want her back so she can dump him in a humiliating way. Only things don’t go as planned when Jesse comes on the scene. She meets Jesse when she is babysitting for his sibling they have a connection and soon she is forgetting all about Liam. Liam sees what he has lost and tries to get Julia to talk to him again. Will Julia risk her new relationship for the bad one?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Not sure about this story. Wasn’t interesting enough to even finish!
Good story about college age students and what they believe love is. Be prepared there are two more books before you reach the end of the story
I’ve always said a good book of fiction will be based on reality. This book was nothing like reality….. more fantasy instead. I was eager to read this, it held such promise, but I found myself skimming most of the book. Once I saw how situations were being handled, it was easy to guess future outcomes. These were college age students but come across as immature middle schoolers. Hence my 2 1/2 stars.
OBSERVATIONS
… The author cemented my opinion of Liam and Ava in this book. That’s good and bad. When opinions are formed and the reader sees no redeeming value in specific characters, why would that reader want to see the character(s) devious behavior being justified in future books?
… And yes, Ava, everyone knows you don’t go out with your best friend’s ex… especially when that ex just broke up with her by humiliating her in the worst way possible… and didn’t care how he hurt her. Your fictional friend may be forgiving, but that’s doubtful in real life. No way you are a true friend and no way your friend would forgive you with the breakup being so fresh, so degrading and so cruel. You were not a victim, Ava. You made a choice. A year or two down the road that choice could have been seen differently, but so soon after a humiliating breakup… nope.
… Jesse was the only mature one of the bunch. Can’t imagine any woman not wanting a Jesse in her life. Would have been nice ‘seeing’ Liam realize Jesse was everything he wasn’t, and ‘feel’ true remorse. Jesse has a back story of pain too but he didn’t allow it to make him use and abuse others.
… The revenge plan was foolish. Why would Julia ever agree to cheapen herself? Why agree to plans that Giff and Ava set in motion? How would a scheme like that cause an ex to be jealous? Nope, it would drive him away as he would see Julia the way ‘Cal’ saw her, as a disgraceful girl seducing every jock on campus. Not good. Not one bit flattering to Julia. This was a fourth grader mindset, not adult college students.
… At times authors do too good of a job cementing opinions about characters. Ava was wrong and no other book will make me see her in different light. No way to justify her betrayal, and in real life, Julia would see it as betrayal. She made a choice and choices have consequences. This storyline justified Ava’s actions by blaming the ex. Not good.
… Liam was an entitled jerk, and no matter what his backstory is, he always will be that jerk. If I were to read about his ‘poor, pitiful me’ excuses in future books, I would still see him for what he did in this book because there was absolutely no remorse, true remorse revealed. Thus, no way to justify his actions and behavior we witnessed in future books. Maybe, just maybe, if I had read his ‘woe is me’ storyline first, I could understand better. But, seeing his depth of cruelty and LACK of compassion in this book makes it difficult to even want to try to understand why he is the way he is.
… Where was Liam’s remorse? Those simple ‘I’m Sorry’ statements don’t cut it. He made Julia a laughing stock on campus, on purpose!
I love redemption storylines but it must be true redemption. I kept reading hoping to see this but unfortunately that was not the case.
What is the best revenge, to hurt and humiliate someone as much as they hurt you or to be the bigger person and have a better life. This is the choice Julie needs to make. While leaning one way she meets Jesse who stops her in her tracks and makes her rethink her plan.
This is great story that you will have a hard time putting down.

Julia and Jesse make a very sweet couple!
I really enjoyed this engaging, heartwarming story. Julia doesn’t think she can move on without getting a little pride-restoring revenge, but her new path with Jesse has her rethinking all her priorities. I loved the way these two came together, and reveled in their delightful HEA.
Wonderfully fantastic… The book was amazing… It had a lot of details and juicy scenes to it… The characters and their personalities match them perfectly… The plot and the storyline was very descriptive and amazing…

This is book one in the Perfect Dish Romance series. Meet Julia, Liam and Jesse. Julia and Liam are dating and she has the best surprise party planned for Liam. Only Liam provides a bigger surprise, he breaks up with Julia. Feeling revengeful, Julia begins to plan something to get back at Liam for their awful breakup. However, during the planning and plotting Julia meets Jesse, now Julia has to choose between revenge or letting go. Not exactly the story I expected but still an entertaining read. Enjoy!

3.5 stars Poor Julia is humiliated by her boyfriend and all she can think about is revenge. But the world works in mysterious ways and shifts her focus from what she thinks she wants, to what she should want. Will she exact her revenge on her ex or will she follow a path to this stranger that has captured her attention?
This novel is the first book in a 4 book series. While it is written in a “younger” voice than I usually prefer it isn’t too far off the novels I enjoy. I felt it was a pretty solid story just a little juvenile in some spots. I am a huge Tawdra fan though, so this will not sway me from reading another other books by the author.
This is book #1 in the Perfect Dish Romance series. Julia just got dumped by her boyfriend Liam on her birthday which can’t get any more humiliating especially since her family and friends were present. So she does what girl does is that she plots her revenge to get back at Liam for what he did. Julia meets Jesse who happens to be her bosses son and comes into her life when she least expects it. Is she willing to go through with plans for revenge or is she willing to give love a second chance with Jesse. Jesse shows her that love is more important than getting revenge against her ex. Will Julia take a chance at love or will she risk it all to get her happy ending and a second chance at love.

I was in a very different place in my life when I first read this to where I am now. I was definitely more sympathetic with Julia’s attitude and plotting. I still enjoyed the story and I loved seeing Julia grow beyond the hurt from that pivotal incident. I’m just not quite as in love with it as I was now that I’m a few years further away from my own hurts. I’m also a few years farther away from the ages of the cast so it’s maybe not so surprising that one of my first thoughts was “dear heavens, these children are so young”. Which kind of served to make me feel a little old and jaded. That’s probably okay since I am. There are enough seeds for the next story that I’m interested in seeing where the author is going to take us; how she’s going to redeem “the big baddie” of this book.

The first book in this new series is just so good!! As usual, when Ms. Kandle writes a book featuring college and students close to graduating it makes me remember and relive that same time in my life with all of the good and also not so good times that time entailed. I cried with Julia over the humiliating break-up from Liam and then rejoiced when she met Jesse and found her way to move on and take another chance at life and a new love again. Ava has got to be the best friend ever, always watching out for Julia and I am so glad she gets her own chance in the next book although there is bound to be some drama at play there too. I picked up all four books at the same time and I am going to immediately start reading the next book Just Desserts, so I can find out more about what is happening in the lives of these wonderful young people!

Julia is conflicted over her feelings about her Ex and how he publicly broke up with her. Just as she’s concocted a plan of revenge, Jesse drops into her life, and he’s everything Liam could never be. But with all best laid plans, her acts of retribution may come back to bite her and be the end to what she has come to realize is the best thing that could ever happen in her life.
What places this YA romance above many others is its mature tone. Although we’re reading about college age characters and problems that are suited to that genre, you still feel a connection to them and what they are going through. It’s very easy to become totally immersed in the drama and romance of this story. The author clearly has a talent for empathizing with a younger generation which comes out in every page and makes this an amazingly well-written and engaging romance. It’s the perfect start to a wonderful series!
Revenge is a dish best served cold, especially when that dish is served to your ex-boyfriend who embarrassed you in front of everyone. That’s Julia’s plan until she meets her boss’s handsome son Jesse. Will Jesse derail her plans to seek revenge on her ex? A romantic comedy that’s so addictive it’s hard to put down. The story line is very well written and entertaining, the characters are fun and definitely have chemistry and attraction to each other and this is a book you don’t want to miss out on.
