DRE never returned to Emerald Creek after the man she thought she’d marry broke her heart. But a late night phone call from half way around the world brings her right back to her hometown. And face to face with the man she never thought she’d seen again. Summer in Emerald Creek was everything she remembered—endless festivals, picnics in the park and time with her best friend and her favorite … favorite little tykes—and Dre is finding it hard to resist the pull of the chemistry she and Erick still have.
ERICK made the biggest mistake of his life all those years ago but the result, his adorable little girl, was the best thing that ever happened to him. He’d done the right thing, or at least he’d tried to but his marriage hadn’t worked despite all that it had cost him. But now that Dre was back in Emerald Creek the universe had given him a second chance this summer, to put back together what he’d broken. To reclaim the only woman he’s ever truly loved.
Can one summer recall a lifetime of memories and rekindle a love that never really went away?

Best of My Love by N.D. Jackson, started slow for me but then sent me on a roller coaster of emotions. Dre and Erik had been through a lot with their years together and apart but can they give it a second chance at love. Yes, Erik did a horrible thing to Dre years ago, but he was a young, stupid kid who did learn from his mistakes but I don’t think I could forgive something like that. The author’s writing of these characters was strong and powerful but there are just some unforgivable things. I also felt that the ending was missing something.
I feel like this book had so much potential but somewhere along the way it got a bit lost. I normally love a second chance romance but there was just something missing, I wouldn’t say i loved this book but it is a good book. I really could not connect with Dre, although her sassiness did have me chuckling at parts. Erik drawed me in straight away even though I wanted to hate him I just found I couldn’t especially the way he is with his daughter. Orchid is amazing and she really makes the story
Book Review: Best of My Love: (Love in Emerald Creek)
Author: N.D. Jackson
Four Stars
Second chance romance for Erick and Dre. They have both had their time apart, but will 10 years make a difference? Erick knows he screwed up and hopes to be able to fix things but why does he keep screwing up? Dre seems to be this tough-as-nails woman but really she just caves and lets him right back in?

Best Of My Love (Love in Emerald Creek) by N.D. Jackson – Review by

Five stars
I really enjoyed this story. The pain we bury deep inside and let effect every relationship we have. Dre has really bad trust issues. She is straight to the point no bs. I really liked her personality but the pain she held was breaking her and keeping her from being truly happy. She doesn’t need a man to be happy but forgiving and loving on would’ve made her life easier. I really liked how she dealt with Shay’s drama. She knew she couldn’t change her opinion on what to do with JT but stayed for the kids. I would’ve liked a better description of how she looked so my visual of her going off on Annie was better lol. I definitely will read more from this author. A well written story about a woman doing what she does best and being a boss at it.

Best of My Love (Love in Emerald Creek #1) by N.D. Jackson
This isn’t the first book by Jackson I’ve read and it won’t be my last. Jackson is a fantastic author and Best of My Love is a great book. The characters had me laughing and crying.
Andrea aka Dre is amazing with computers. Has been since she was little. When her mom passed away things went downhill when her dad didn’t show up. When he finally came home things really changed. Dre never expected to be back in her hometown, but when she comes home her ex comes back into her life. The quote I chose for Dre is: “A little understanding? I put my life on hold to come help you Shayna. I’d say that’s pretty damn understanding. I’m helping out the best I can and you’re bitching because you have to miss one soccer game! Christ if it’s so important come and watch from the car.”
Erick messed up big time in the past and now he’s got a beautiful little girl due to the situation. He didn’t think Dre would come home and when she does he isn’t sure what to do. Erick keeps messing up, but he wins her back after all. The quote I chose for Erick is: “What don’t we have to talk about? You never used to avoid confrontation.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.
I really enjoyed Best of my Love by N.D. Jackson. The characters actions were a little confusing sometimes, but overall, I enjoyed the fact that each was going through their own personal struggles.
Andrea, or Dre as she prefers to be called, is obligated to go back home to help her best friend and her best friend’s kids after a terrible situation. She hadn’t been home in about a decade because the last time she was there she was betrayed by the person she loved the most.
Erick messed up big time all those years ago. Now he may have the opportunity to win Dre back, if she would even speak to him.
Admittedly, Erick’s act of betrayal is a little confusing, but I dont think overall that took away from the story. Even though Dre was a really tough character I liked that you could easy follow her personal growth through a few different areas if her life. The story kept me interested and I didnt want to put it down – what more could you ask for!
So, let me just say that I can’t give this book the best of my love after reading it. As much as I wanted to love it, I honestly didn’t. It began extremely slow and was hard for me to get into the story. Once the story did start moving along it was hard for me to connect with the main character, Dre, until closer to the ending of the book. I felt that there were some unresolved issues at the end which left me confused and wondering if she was going to release a follow-up and complete the story. If not, then that’s a shame. I really despised the “love of her life” and the choices and decisions that he makes. Just my opinion, but there was no love in that relationship. Maybe desperation. Or hope. Whatever the case may be, I truly cannot believe that anyone would believe that this was the best love of their life. But again, I am hoping that this isn’t the ending of this story and that there will be completion and satisfaction in a sequel.
Best Of My Love: (Love in Emerald Creek) by N.D. Jackson was a story full of romance. It is a story of a second chance at love.
After the man she had intended to marry broke her heart, Dre never returned to Emerald Creek. However, she was suddenly transported back to her hometown. She was face to face with the guy she had never expected to see again. Dre is finding it difficult to resist the pull of the chemistry she and Erick still have. All those years ago, Erick made the biggest mistake of his life, but that result, his baby. He’d done the right thing, but despite everything, his marriage had failed. Dre was now back in Emerald Creek, and the universe had given him a second chance this summer to repair what he had broken.
I loved every page of this book. Finding love after so many years and getting another chance at the happiest life you could have had makes it an incredible read.
Best Of My Love by N.D. Jackson is a Love in Emerald Creek novel. This is a second chance romance which some fantastic characters right at the heart of the story. For me Dre absolutely carried this story. She was such a strong and forthright person that I couldn’t help but connect with her. I wasn’t a huge fan of her and Erick but I did really enjoy the journey that she went on. And I couldn’t deny that the chemistry is there between the two of them.
The author has done a great job in developing the story. It was an easy book to read and one I thoroughly enjoyed getting lost in foe a few hours. I always enjoy books by this author, with this one being no exception. I look forward to what is next.
Best Of My Love: (Love In Emerald Creek) is a great second chance romance by N.D. Jackson. This was my first time reading any of this author’s work and I am sure that I will read more as I thoroughly enjoyed Best Of My Life.
Dre has never intended to return to her hometown of Emerald Creek. It holds too many bad memories for her. It’s the place where her heart was broken. But when her best friend is beaten up by her husband, she just has to pull up her big girl pants and go home and look after Shayna and her kids.
This book is filled with angst, which I love in a book. Dre wants to hate Erick, (the boy who broke her heart) but deep down she still loves him. Dre is a complete badass who takes absolutely no crap from anyone and I loved her sassy nature. She has absolutely no filter which make her hilarious at times.
As much as Erick was the bad guy I totally loved him straight away. He’s compassionate and sweet and he totally adores his daughter Orchid. For me Orchid and the other kids are total scene stealers in this book. I always love a book that has cute, adorable kids in it.
This is a great book which drew me in from the very beginning and kept me captivated and entertained right through to the end. I would definitely recommend this book.
