Nate Reynolds is everything I shouldn’t want. Aside from being my best friend’s older brother, he’s a cocky, smooth-talking, panty-dropping playboy of a cop. And yet, I’m helplessly drawn to him.His charm and good looks reduce me to a fumbling, mumbling teenaged version of myself, which pretty much guarantees that nothing will ever come of my silly crush.Until the night of my best friend’s … best friend’s wedding.
Jenny Jones is the definition of innocence. She’s also my little sister’s best friend, making her completely off limits. She’s a forever kind of girl with hearts in her eyes, where I’ve always been more of a love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy.
Until a night spent between the sheets with her has me questioning everything I thought I wanted.
I tried my hardest to stay away, but you know what they say about the best intentions . . .

OMG! This book gave me all the feels.
From beginning to end, I was completely invested in the story and the characters in it. I didn’t want to stop reading and I didn’t want to have any kind of forceful distractions because this is a story that pulls you in since moment one, and doesn’t let go. All I wanted to do was to be consumed by it.
I fell in love with Nate, Jenny, their friends and family. I loved their interactions and how the people in their life support them through it all, and have a hand in helping them be what they are and what they become, I love that this is a vital component of the story.
Nate is so dreamy. He is sweet, fun and you’ll fall in love with him easily, and even when you feel like knocking some sense into him, you’ll still feel the biggest amount of love for him. He is charming and SO swoony. And Jenny? She is a girl I want to be friends with. Smart, sassy, kind and so much fun! These two, together, are the best kind of couple. Their chemistry is explosive and their banter is hilarious and flirty. But of course, things aren’t easy, and my heart suffered because of them and with them. I got frustrated, I may have cried a little bit, I got angry and, at some point, I officially turned into an emotional mess. They took me into an emotional roller coaster ride, not because the story is high on angst but because the amount of angst, as little as it is, will reach your insides and tug at your heartstrings without issue.
Another things I loved about this story is the development of the relationship between Nate and Jenny. I love reading about them being friends and slowly gravitating towards the romance zone and getting to feel every emotion they felt as well, falling in love with them as they fall for each other and realize their true feelings was incredible.
Captivating, heartwarming and fun.
I love Nate and Jenny (G.G). Nate is a playboy cop who doesn’t do commitment. Jenny is his sister Natalie’s best friend who is a forever kind of girl. Jenny’s had a crush on Nate forever and ends up being a mumbling mess around him. He wants her but knows it can only be for one night. She thinks he only sees her as his sister’s friend. After one night they decide to be friends. Can they work as friends with all that hot chemistry between them? Jenny is super sweet and caring. Nate is awesome and loving even if you do want to smack him a couple times. There amazing together. Tatum is adorable hope to see more of her. I’m hoping Duke will find love again, my heart absolutely breaks for him. Hint hint. I definitely recommend and can’t wait for the next.
I received an advanced readers copy and I’m leaving a voluntary review.
**ARC REVIEW**
This is my 1st book by L.K.
Jenny finds herself at her best friends wedding crushing hard on her best friends brother. He has been her crush for quite some time now. She finally finds the courage to confront him and is hoping he feels the same. She’s prepared for the rejection if it comes.. So she thinks…
Nate is enjoying his playboy bachelor times. With no care in the world, no responsibilities he’s a true player. Until Jenny confronts him and he starts hesitating knowing she’s any guys dream girl just not his… He’s just not the commitment type… So he thinks…
The characters worked well together at times, I just felt there was something missing.
Nate and Jenny were full of passion. I loved the sweet moments as much as the fiery and steamy ones. She was said to be the good girl and he was a bad boy, or msybe just a commitment phobe…but they both had moments that would enjoyably surprise you. I loved that Tatum was one of the main people in their lives that kept the pair real.
Best Of Intentions, a sweet new contemporary romance by L.K Farlow. If you have read Farlow’s work before then you know for the most part she writes sweet, feel-good romances, and that is just what we have here in BOI. It’s written in dual POV, there’s no over the top drama or angst, just a sweet love story with a few complications along the way to a happily ever after.
If you have read Best Laid Plans, you may have met Nate & Jenny, Nate was Natalie’s overprotective older brother and Jenny was her best friend. Well, now we are getting little Jenny and big brother Nate’s story!
Jenny has always had a thing for her best friend Natalie’s older brother but every time she’s around him she goes from a confident woman to a bubbling mess who can barely form sentences. There’s just something about Nate Reyonalds.
Nate has always liked Jenny but because he doesn’t feel like he’d be good enough for her, Best of Intentions Teaser 2he pushes those thoughts way back into the far corners of his mind and doesn’t pursue her. Nate knows that Jenny is the kind of girl that you settle down and spend forever with, and Nate Reynolds is NOT ready to settle down nor does he ever think he’ll be ready for that. Or at least.. he wasn’t.
The day of Natalie and Alden’s wedding, Jenny finally gets up the nerve to ask Nate to dance but… he turns her down.
Nate’s buddy has no qualms about picking up Nate’s slack though. Nate seeing his buddy dancing with and making Jenny, something comes over him. All of a sudden he’s seeing Jenny in a whole new light.
After an intense night filled with passion, these two decide to just be friends.
Nate is still struggling with things that happened in his past, that turned him off of relationships. Jenny is struggling with her diabetes that makes her self conscious because of the way her asshole ex treated her.
But the more time these two spend together, the harder it is to just be “friends”.
Can Nate overcome his past and be the man that Jenny deserves? Can Jenny get over her own insecurities and put her trust in Nate?
You’ll have to read Best Of Intentions to find out!
Gahhh, I love a good sweet romance now and again. Nate and Jenny are two characters you can’t help but love.
Nate has this playboy image but there is so much more underneath. He’s such a sweetheart and I completely melted with the way he is with Jenny about her diabetes. Jenny is a sweet and snarky girl who even though begins to care deeply for Nate, she also doesn’t allow him to walk all over her and calls him on his crap.
Watching Jenny and Nate’s relationship blossom was the cutest ever, made even cuter by little Tatum’s appearance (Natalie & Alden’s daughter, Nate’s niece), and her relationship advice for Uncle Nate.
I’ve been reading so many over the top angst stories lately, which I absolutely love, BUT it’s nice to switch things up a little and just read a sweet story that makes you happy. It was definitely a refreshing change of pace.
When I want a sweet romance, I know I can find one from L.K Farlow. Even though her reads aren’t full of angst and drama, they still suck you in until the very last page. If you like sweet little sister’s best friend romance reads that are low on angst and drama, then give Best Of Intentions a try!
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
Charming and heartfelt story with lots of humor and swoonworthy moments.
Well written, with likable characters, the snarky banter between the main characters Jenny and Nate made the story more enjoyable.
Easy, light read, my only issue was that the back and forth between them made me want to grab them and scream snap out of it!
3.5 stars!
Best of Intentions is only the second book by LK Farlow, the first being the start of this series, Best Laid plans.
This book is about the best friends of the couple from that first book. Nate is Natalie’s big brother, as well as Alden’s best friend. We got a little bit of insight to this rugged, hot cop there but here it’s all out there for us and more importantly, for Jenny to see.
Or would be if he’d speak up.
But, Nate thinks he’s no good at relationships and refuses to get close to any woman but at Natalie’s and Alden’s wedding, he’s brought up short when he sees Natalie’s best friend, Jenny. She’s gorgeous and tempting to him in a way she’s never been before.
But, he also knows she’s a commitment kind of girl and not one for hooking up with. It’s a hard decision but he tries to keep his hands to himself. What he doesn’t count on is Jenny taking matters into her own hands.
Can this self-confessed player resist the sweet, sassy hometown girl?
Jenny has spunk and courage, most of the time, but Nate usually reduces her to a mute, hapless klutz. At the wedding she decides enough is enough and makes her move.
The attraction is there, the chemistry boils over and one thing leads to another, but with the light of day, will Nate have stayed or made his escape?
I really enjoyed this book. Some decisions left me wanting to slap both of them upside the head, but ultimately, I was rooting for them and got the ending I was hoping for.
I loved Nate and Jenny’s book so much! I always love LK Farlow’s books and this one did not disappoint. Nate and Jenny were so perfect and now I am really excited to see who the next book is about. I can’t wait for more!
Stayed up until 4am to finish Nate and Jenny’s story! This story had all of the emotions a phenomenal book should have. One second I want to cry the next second I am laughing out loud! I love this book so much!!
I don’t know what it is about when a man or woman turns their love interest into a bumbling fool. I live when they goof up and make fools of themselves and the other person is so drawn in despite or possibly because of the way they fumble all other themselves. We all have had that person. I loved revisiting all my blundering thoughts with Jenny! I adored her character. Jenny was refreshing and so real in her blunders. It endeared me to her.
LK Farlow packed all the ooey gooey lovey goodness I can take into Best of Intentions. It was light and fun while still being a bit serious and packing the heat. I love childhood crushes come to fruition all starting from a drunkin’ one night stand! Nate and Jenny were just what I needed after heavy stories deep in the angst and drama. Best of Intentions has this pure delightfulness that I couldn’t help but by totally smitten with! This is a story that’ll leave you with s sweet smile on your face and contentment in your heart.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
L.K .Farlow’s words made me cry, laugh, swoon and die from all the emotions. Best Of Intentions brings together all the great qualities of a great romance. Intense and inspiring with a side of sweet and sexy. Brilliant lead characters and equally brilliant secondary characters. A story line that packs a strong punch. And obviously amazing writing.
Sister’s best friend is one of my favorite trope. I wanted to see how the author can make it different and interesting. And she did it so well. So what set this story apart?
First, the hero and the heroine. Jenny is down to earth and so real with her own issues. She shows incredible strength. I has to fall in love with a girl who faces life heads on like Jenny. She is smart, sweet, funny, intelligent and caring. And Nate’s character started like a typical obnoxious playboy. But soon I saw the vulnerability and insecurity behind his cool arrogant facade. He made mistakes and he learnt from them.
Second, the story line. Yes it does have the same secret tension expected in sister’s best friend romance. But the story talks about a journey. Both Jenny and Nate changed and accepted their love in an insidious slow burn kind of way. They resist the temptation and then give away to the pull. They go from attraction to friends to companions to eternal love. The shock and turmoil appeared in right places. Not too simple, not too complicated, not too sweet, not too dark. Just perfectly balanced.
Third, the writing. L.K.Farlow poured so much feelings in the pages. The words, the expressions, the honest emotions, the depth of feelings- all were executed perfectly.
Best of Intentions by L.K.Farlow is the kind of romance that fills you with warm soft feelings. And it’s the best kind of book!
Received ARC for Honest Review
I Received an arc in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Candi Kane PR and LK Farlow. I really enjoyed this book, I love the sibling’s best friend/best friend’s sibling trope. I also have to read more romance novels that have police officers in them!! I really enjoyed Nate and Jenny’s character. I wasn’t the biggest Nate fan in the beginning, because of how reluctant he was towards Jenny but I liked how the story played out in the end. I really enjoyed Jenny’s character, she was so sweet and adorable. This story will be perfect for anybody looking for a really cute romance, that’s a short read with a tiny bit of angst.
3 STARS
Best Of Intentions is such a sweet story that follows Nate Reynolds, a hook-up kind of guy and Jenny Jones, BFF to Nate’s younger sister. LK Farlow does an amazing job of giving us a best friend’s older brother romance that covers some difficult real life issues. Nate views Jenny as the very definition of a “Good Girl”, one who deserves a forever kind of love; which he feels he isn’t allowed to have due to trauma from past events. Jenny is a strong female character that knows what she wants however her crush on Nate causes her to be a bumbling fool whenever he is near. She also has major insecurities when it comes to relationships because of how her ex reacted to her condition. The night of Nate’s sister’s wedding, Jenny and Nate spend the night together, but Jenny wakes up alone the next morning. They both move on and each may have the best of intentions, but will it be enough to stay apart?
Tatum, Nate’s niece is my absolutely favourite character. I just love her, especially when she tries to describe falling in love to her Uncle Nate.
“Falling in love is like learning to tie your shoes, Uncle Nate. It’s hard and it takes time – like a lot of time. But once you get it, you know how to tie them forever. You don’t just forget.”
I’d like to thank the author and Candi Kane PR for kindly providing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Best Of Intentions by LK Farlow will join the ranks of BIBLIO-SUPERIOR.
If you want to read a beautiful sisters best friend story or just a beautiful romance, look no further than LK Farlow.
In this story, the reader meets Nate and Jenny. The characters are depicted in such a fashion that the reader will fall quick and deep to them. LK creates such an environment within her story to create such a realistic story as if your friend is telling you what happened in real life.
I HIGHLY recommend this story to anyone searching for romance. And I HIGHLY recommend every reader to add LK Farlow to your TBR.
I am gonna start off with saying, BEST OF INTENTIONS absolutely fits Nate and Jenny’s story to a T. I don’t think this author could have chosen a better title for them. I always love a good ‘falling for your best friends brother’ story, and this one did not disappoint. It was a light read, with a ton of chemistry, and wonderful character development. It was relateable, and felt original. At times, I wanted to knock the main characters head into a wall to get him to snap out of it, but eventually he figured it out for himself. I also enjoyed how this author made the secondary characters very supportive. It was a nice change of pace. Overall this story was a delight.
Jenny is like an old soul. She wears her heart on her sleeve, and has an array of emotions that like to shine through. I felt like she was more worried about making others comfortable than herself. Even so, she is determined in her personal life as well as her professional life. When she sets a goal, she will do everything in her power to make it happen.
Nate also known as the lady killer, is quite the playboy. He is NOT a long-term material, and has serious reservations towards a relationship. Being the town cop is everything he always thought it would be. He is an amazing friend, and will stop at nothing to help those he cares about.
When Jenny is granted the opportunity to take what she has always wanted, she doesn’t waste a second. She knows the score, and vows not turn into the usual badge bunny, but it leaves Nate questioning everything. Can Nate change his playboy ways? Or is he to determined to remain in the past?
*I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK
*REVIEWED FOR REVIEWS FROM THE HEART
Best of Intentions by L.K. Farlow was such a sweet and charming read. A best friend’s older brother romance with all the best feels! Nate Reynolds is not a relationship type of guy, but he is honest about it. I just loved Jenny Jones. She knows she shouldn’t want her best friend’s older brother, but she can’t help herself. I just loved her spunk.
After giving in to one night of passion, can these two deny what they feel for each other? Their chemistry was intense and undeniable. I loved watching these two together and I just got lost in their story. I absolutely loved reading Best of Intentions by L.K. Farlow. This story had delightful characters and such a sweet romance. I devoured this in one sitting.
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading.
5 READ IN ONE SITTING STARS!! Wow, I read this book in one sitting, I could not put it down. Nate is a cop…..need to say anymore, he is perfect in everyway. Jenny is strong and beautiful, but Nate’s sisters best friend. These two have so chemistry I could feel it through the words. This author will hit all your emotion button and having you crave more. You definitely need to read this book, so what are you waiting for.
Best of Intentions
5 Stars +++++
Loved! Adored! Amazing! Beautiful story! Love the characters and their chemistry! Wonderfully written!
Best of Intentions is one of my top favorite stories! No one should be missing out!
“Falling in love is like learning to tie your shoes.”
“Love you so much. You made tonight the best night of my life. I love you too–more than you’ll ever know.”
“You don’t have to convince me. Where you are is where I want to be.”
So in love with this couple. Nate and Jenny are just wow They give you all the feels.
Jenny who is your typical “good girl” has had a secret crush on her best friends brother for years. When Nate is around Jenny can’t seem to speak without her words coming out like a jumbled mess. Finally while Nat & Alden’s wedding she gets the courage to let Nate know how she feels. How does Nate react?
Nate has a past that not many know of which has left him only wanting to live “the single life” with no strings attached. Will Jenny break him if this? Will She make him want more?
I loved this book so much! Jenny and Nate build a friendship that has an incredible bond. I love how sweet Nate is to Jenny and how he always try’s to build up her confidence. I honestly couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I need more of these couples. Im truly hoping Duke will get his story.
I had a hard time getting into this book. Nate got on my nerves with his “oh I’m not the right guy for Jenny” then 10 seconds later he’s marking his territory. I wish there would’ve been more consistency of their feelings instead of the back and forth. It wasn’t my favorite L.K. Farlow book.
