Nate Reynolds is everything I shouldn’t want. Aside from being my best friend’s older brother, he’s a cocky, smooth-talking, panty-dropping playboy of a cop. And yet, I’m helplessly drawn to him.His charm and good looks reduce me to a fumbling, mumbling teenaged version of myself, which pretty much guarantees that nothing will ever come of my silly crush.Until the night of my best friend’s … best friend’s wedding.
Jenny Jones is the definition of innocence. She’s also my little sister’s best friend, making her completely off limits. She’s a forever kind of girl with hearts in her eyes, where I’ve always been more of a love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy.
Until a night spent between the sheets with her has me questioning everything I thought I wanted.
I tried my hardest to stay away, but you know what they say about the best intentions . . .

I’ll admit, when I started this book and realized the main character had Type 1 Diabetes, I almost stopped. Not because it wasn’t good, but because so many times, it’s just not done realistically or accurately. As a parent of a Type 1, it’s a big deal for me.
Am I glad I stayed with this. LK Farlow is spot on with how she portray’s Jenny’s diabetes (and there is a reason for this). I fell more in love with Jenny with each chapter. It’s wasn’t just the facts, but the insecurities that I know my daughter goes through all the time. It was all there. I love that Nate was written to ask questions and to learn.
The main story is very good as well and kept me hooked and wanting to read all the way to the end. LK Farlow is definitely on my list of authors to keep up with.
Jenny, Natalie’s bff, and Nate, Natalie’s brother & Alden’s best friend, give into their attraction for each other at their best friend ‘s wedding. Their chemistry is undeniable, but both have their hang ups. Jenny captivates the town ‘Lady killer’ , and while he can’t stay away from her, he is convinced he’s bad news for a potential relationship. Jenny was made to be embarrassed of her diabetes & insulin pump & can’t imagine Nate would be comfortable with her because of it. Both of them have some baggage to handle. Their evolution from steamy one night stand, to friendship, to relationship takes us on a journey filled with steam, sweetness, some drama due to misconceptions, to a very happily ever after. We get more of the charming Miss Tatum, Natalie, Alden, his parents, and we get to know his work partner, Duke. I hope we get his story next. Floved this book!! It makes me feel all spring/summery inside!! Totally heartwarming! I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Such a cute and quick read. I absolutely loved Nate and Jenny’s story, they have great chemistry but are both carrying baggage they kind of hinders them from wanting the same thing. I loved how we got to see more of Laden, Natalie, and Tatum because they were fantastic characters from the first book and holy cow I can’t not wait for Dule’s story.
I’m speechless
If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. I had fallen in love with Alden and Natalie from the beginning and I didn’t think anyone could top that love. Boy was I wrong. Nate and Jenny are on fire. I had hoped in their first interaction in best laid plans that something would happen with this chemistry but nothing prepared me for this. Both overcoming their own struggles and insecurities, they learn that things worth fighting for are often not easy. I’m still sitting here crying tears of joy. Plus it’s great having more tater-tot moments!
I was so excited about Nate and Jenny’s story and I was not one bit disappointed. The push and pull between them made me want to smack them both at times but this sweet, sexy story had me wanting more the entire time.
Remember Nate, Natalie’s brother from Best Laid Plans and her friend Jenny. Well this is their story. They have a hot hookup an Natalie and Alden’s wedding. It take awhile for the confirmed bachelor to get his act together but it’s a fun read with a great HEA at the end and lots of Natalie and Alden and most importantly Tatum!
Good read. Enjoyed the book.
It was a fun book to read.
Jenny is a confident young woman unless she is around Nate Reynolds, then she becomes a stumbling teenager. Nate thinks Jenny Jones is hot, but she’s also his little sister’s best friend, and he’s a sleep them and leave them type of guy. One night and he’s done. So he knows he has to stay away from Jenny, apart from the fact that he would never want to hurt her, his sister would quite literally kill him! On the night Nate’s sister Natalie married Alden (Nate’s best friend) Jenny convinces Nate to sleep with her, but when she wakes up in the morning he is gone. She knew it wasn’t going to be a relationship, but she did hope that he would still be there in the morning. Nate knows he isn’t good for Jenny, but he can’t stop thinking of her, of that night and getting insanely jealous if anyone looks at her with interest. Something in Nate’s past has made him wary of relationships and until he talks about it, it will remain unresolved.
Loved Nate and Jenny’s story. It is a standalone so you don’t have to have read Best Laid Plans, which is Natalie and Alden’s story, but it adds context and more importantly, the books are so good that you should read them anyway!
Loved it! The story was great and I loved the characters. They really were perfect for each other. It took some work but it all works out and ends with a nice little epilogue.
Tons of witty banter and super steamy scenes. Loved it!
L.K. Farlow is a new author to me and why that is , I have no idea. From the first to the last chapter she had me enthralled. The writing was strong and I found myself totally invested in Nate Reynolds and Jenny Jones’s story.
Although a stand alone (I had no trouble reading as is) I would possibly suggest that you read Best Laid Plans first as from all that I have read, I believe it would enhance your enjoyment of this book.
There were times that I laughed and cried reading Best of Intentions as the emotions were all over the place. However this story is totally heart warming and made me smile.
Both Nate and Jenny have fought their attraction for one another. Jenny is a good girl and he is a bit of a player, with no plans to commit or settle down. All that changes after Natalie’s wedding when Jenny bites the bullet and makes her move.
The chemistry between Nate and Jenny is electrifying and it is obvious to those around Nate that he has feelings for Jenny, but will he be prepared for the fall out after their passionate night together?

So this could be read as a stand alone, but I’m a bit OCD and seeing as we meet the main characters in Best Laid Plains, I would say read that first as you get a gist of who everyone is and what not. This starts out with Jenny and Nate at Natalie and Alden’s wedding (couple from Best Laid Plans). Nate, knowing that Jenny is his sister’s best friend, he makes it so she is off limits, but can’t resist the temptation and the two end up leaving the reception early. What starts out as a very fun night, slowly turns into something a bit deeper, so Nate cuts out as he knows he is not the man for Jenny. Of course the next morning Jenny is bummed when Nate isn’t there, but he was very clear where he stood on relationships. But Nate can’t get Jenny out of his head, even though he is the one that made sure it was just NSA fun. So when Nate goes to Jenny and decides to try for a friends without benefits type of relationship, she agrees. Can two people who are very attracted to each other, have a relationship without sex? What happens when Nate realizes that he wants more from Jenny? Will he try or is he too scared of the what ifs?
This was a really good story. With some drama, some naughty bits that were super steamy, and a few really heavy moments. I give this 4 stars.
Nate believes himself unworthy of a relationship because of an incident during his college years. That’s why he only does one-night-stands. But when his best friend marries his sister, he cannot deny the feelings he has when he sees his sister’s best friend again. She’s all grown up into his dream girl. But he tells her, he doesn’t do repeats and keeps pushing her away.
Jenny had a crush on her best friends brother for years. Because she’s inexperienced in relationships, she’s self conscious and anxious. This changes after an unexpected night with her dream man Nate. But after waking alone and to her best friends voice, she’s embarrassed.
Nate tries to avoid Jenny, but at his nieces birthday party, he has to face her. But Jenny is accompanied by another man, which brings out his caveman attitude.
They dance around each other for quite some time and try to at least be friends, but their feelings for each other are too strong and after a lot of misunderstandings and him being his usual a..hole self, they mend their relationship and finally get together for good.
This books timeline is after LK Farlow’s Best Laid Plans, but can be read as a standalone.
Laughed out loud so many times. This couple had great tension and interaction.
Easy quick read. Certainly a good beach read. Easy to pick up and not have to reread to find where you left off
Nate is everything Jenny should not want. He is her best friend’s brother, cocky, and a playboy cop. His charm and good looks reduce Jenny to a fumbling, mumbling teenaged version of herself. Jenny is the definition of innocence, and Nate considers her off limits. Then they get together the night of her best friend’s wedding. – I did not like Nate initially. He was too arrogant and cocky. His language was terrible throughout the book. Jenny was sweet and lovable. Once Nate and Jenny became friends, he was caring and romantic. The book got better then.
Great read
Best friend’s sister is one of my favorite tropes because it usually includes more family involvement in the background, which I enjoy. Best of Intentions is an excellent example of this. The characters are fun and the family involvement rounds out the story and makes it easy to fall into and relate to. The inclusion of Tatum, a funny adorable four year old, was one of my favorite parts. She kept everyone on their toes and always made me laugh at her comments.
Best of Intentions did have a bit of a slow start for me, but once it quickly picked up and sucked me in. Even with the slow start, I look forward to reading more of LK Farlow’s works and hopefully seeing more of Nate and Jenny.
A best read!
He tried his hardest to stay away, but you know what they say about the best intentions…

This story had everything – a wonderful romance and characters, a brilliant storyline and true issues.
Full of chemistry, humour, family, friends and love.
Perfect for readers of contemporary romances.
