A brand new contemporary romance from New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author Katy Evans. When the wedding of your dreams is just around the corner, everything needs to go as planned. Only problem is, the groom didn’t get the memo.Aaron forgot the rings, and Lia is determined to make the long drive home to get them in time for their “I do’s.” But there’s a catch. … there’s a catch. There always is with Aaron, isn’t there?
Aaron is too hungover to come, and sends a replacement.
The best man.
Miles Foster. The cocky, arrogant, sexy best man…and the last person Lia wants to be trapped in a car with for hours.
But Aaron insists, and Lia wonders if there’s another reason Aaron wants Miles tagging along–aside from sticking her with a hot, surly babysitter.
Yet how bad can it be? It’ll be over before she knows it, and she’ll never see him again. Just like in college.
But when secrets are revealed, and Lia’s whole world is turned upside down, she realizes she’s been living a lie–and so has her groom.
Miles is supposed to be the best man at her wedding.
But what if he is simply the best man she has ever known? The best man for her?

I really liked this book. I liked the story, I liked Miles, I loved how Lia had no choice but to spend time with the guy she absolutely detests and who returns her feelings. How awkward is that going to be when you’ve got a 10 hour car journey to make together? What I didn’t like to begin with was Lia. She drove me insane at first. Her attitude, her fiancé, her been a bit of doormat… it all drove me mad. But as I got to know her, I started to really like her. Yes she annoyed me but she’s not a bad person. When her wedding rings get left behind she ends up going on a mini adventure with her fiancés best friend to retrieve them but of course nothing goes to plan. Unexpected snow storms, secrets coming to light, a wedding that may or may not happen on time, it’s like Lia can’t catch a break when it comes to her ‘perfect wedding’.
Miles on the other hand won me over from the off. His moody, standoffish attitude do all sorts of things to me. I adored this guy. Been stranded with Lia is the last thing he was expecting but could end up been the best thing that happens to him. Will Lia make it back in time? Read it and see 😉
Best Man is the newest standalone story from another new to me author. It’s the story of Lia, who is about to have her fairy tale wedding until some trouble happened that led her to question if she really is marrying the right man. This is quite a quick read with loads of fun, snarky, witty back and forth between Lia and the best man Miles. It’s a second chance, enemies-to-lovers, with a dose of the forbidden and romantic comedy on the side. Overall, happily recommend this to fans of this genre. Loved it!

Omg this book had me wondering what on earth will happen with the characters!I love how you get an insight on how Lia and Aaron met and who Miles is! What happens when disaster happens before your wedding day?? You endeavor to fix the issue yourself!! Who else is going to do it?!! But when your nemesis accompanies you, lets just say hate might be a kind word than what they both really feel about each other!I was on tenderhooks thinking will they make it back in time? The whole storyline and the characters as well as feelings and truths being brought out into the open made my heart beat fast! I loved the rush of wondering, what will Lia do?? Who is Miles really and what did Aaron do?Absolutely enjoyable read! Can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us next!
I get the goose bumps still when I reflect on reading Best Man. So much meaning to the title. I loved the book cover, the blurb, and then I fell in love with Miles and Lia. I have to get this out first…Aaron is a wanker! Okay…all better now.
So what is this that I am rambling about? I am talking about fairy tales versus reality. Following your heart instead of your childhood dreams. Because a dream may not be part of reality. At the end, Katy hit the spot…This story is compex and very human. Its not the HEA you expect, but it is all a girl can dream of.
I adored and became addicted with Best Man. I was glued and let the world fade to the background. I was snowed in with Lia and Miles. I could not get enough. To see Lia open her eyes was like the sun finally rising. I am telling you book friends, this heart wrenching story is a must read!!!!

I’m a huge fan of Katy Evans and was so excited when Best Man hit my kindle!!! It’s a short, angsty read told in first person from Dahlia’s POV. The story takes place in a span of 24 hours leading up to, and day of, Lia and Aaron’s wedding.
My first thoughts of Aaron, the fiancé, is that he is a douchecanoe. My feelings never changed throughout the whole book. I think he will forever be an idiot. I can’t figure out what Lia saw him.
Miles is the Best Man. Also known as my favorite character. Also known as Aaron’s best friend. He is hot and broody. He’s quiet and comes off as jerkish to Lia. But how else can you act when you are in love with your best friends girl?
Lia, the bride. No backbone. For the life of me-I can’t figure out why she would waste five years of her life on Aaron. She lets him walk all over her. Finally, on the night before her wedding, she opens her eyes. ITS ABOUT TIME!!! But will she have the guts to call off her wedding?
For the most part, I liked this story. The writing is great, I just had a hard time connecting with Lia. Especially in the beginning of the story. It does get better at the end.

What do all of these have in common, you ask? One fantastic story….Best Man. What a great concept in a story.
Miles Foster is the broody, arrogant best man to the party animal groom Aaron Eberhart. Two men that Dahlia has sampled, and they’re best friends. But you have to read the story to understand the dilemma Lia has gotten herself into.
What a fun and very sensual story you have to read to believe. All I know is I would love to have more, for sure!!!
Best Man is a sweet, fun, and an emotional second chance to love and forbidden romance. I loved to follow Lia and Miles in their long drive home to get the rings Aaron forgot. Lia is a lovely woman, a little naive. Miles is handsome, caring, and protective. Aaron is… Aaron (I’ll let you meet him). The secondary characters are great. The storyline is filled with misunderstanding, miscommunication, secrets, and lies. The ending is beautiful. Grace Grant did an amazing job with the narration. I love her voice. I have read and listened to this story.
4.5 STARS!!!!
I really, really liked this story! I liked the way it was written. It was different and unique and it kept my interest from beginning to end. I especially liked that it took place in Colorado where I live, so it was super fun that I was familiar with the places that were mentioned. I liked Lia, but I LOVED Miles. But is that a surprise? Nope! Katy Evans creates the BEST heroes. They are always manly, witty, and super delicious! There was something so mysterious and sexy about him. Like Lia, I was trying to figure him out! It was so much fun to watch them walk the fine line of love and hate. It led to some intense scenes. All I’m going to say is… THAT scene at the rest stop. HOLY HOTCAKES! Their dialogue was entertaining, and I really enjoyed how everything worked out in the end. You can always count on a Katy Evans novel to exceed all your romance expectations. I HIGHLY recommend!
Review by Lys
Katy Evans is such a reliable author for me…I’ve loved every single one of her books. Best Man was a book where you had an idea of where it was going, but didn’t care in the least. You want to read on to get the whole story of this unlikely pair. And I’m not talking about the bride and groom lol
You’ll love reading about Miles & Dahlia…Aaron, not so much!
I definitely recommend this second chance romance. It’s packed with it all…
Dahlia is getting ready for her big day. She is marrying Aaron, who she has been with for 5 years. She got together with him after a one night stand with Miles, one of Aaron’s frat brothers and best friend. Dahlia hates Miles and she believes he hates her too. After Aaron forgot their rings and Dahlia decides to go get them Aaron sends Miles with her. Only one problem, is there more to the hate?
This is a great book. I loved reading this story. It had passion, people pissed, and love. What more can you ask for!
Katy is a 1-click author for me. I have absolutely devoured everything she has written since I read her Real series. That being said, this book was no different. I read this in one sitting, not being able to put it down. I thought the characters were realistic and drew me in with needing to know all their secrets, because you know they have them.
Miles Foster was a right broody bastard. He came off as a complete a**, until that fateful 10 hour trip. That is where I fell hard and fast for this man.
Lia seemed like she had it all together. Great friends, envied relationship, and the man of her dreams and soon to be dream wedding to said man…sometimes not everything is as it seems. Aaron, her fiance, is a mess and frankly, not my favorite and it’s not hard to see that these two were not meant to be. The more I got into this book, the more I realized that the man of your dreams just may be the one you never saw coming.
When you know, you know.
Katy has a way to make a direct line to your heart. And it works every time.
Best Man is about Lia’s day dream. The wedding dream. The perfect groom. The perfect everything.
But all is not so perfect.
Miles, the best man and best friend of Aaron, the groom, is an enigmatic man and has been a constant pain in Lia’s side. But not everything is what seems. And soon Lia is going to discover that all her dreams aren’t what she really wants.
This was a easygoing and funny reading. Like a one-sitting readying because you get absorbed by it. The way the characters are interweaving the story’s so captivating that you need to know more like you need your next breath.
An angsty and steamy read that you won’t forget!
Lia is getting married! This apparent bridezilla just wants everything perfect on her big day, the perfect venue, the perfect wedding, the perfect man. However, her perfect man may not be so perfect as he left the rings hours away, and then sends her with his best man to go get them. A blizzard is coming, both literally and emotionally, and who knows how it will end. Miles is the annoyingly perfect best friend, but his history with Lia is rocky at best. Forced to spend time together, a new light emerges, but will they come out unscathed? I loved this book, it was fun, yet angsty, and the chemistry, my goodness. I would love to see Lia’s brother West get his own story, fingers crossed!
This was a fabulous read!
“I want to be perfect for him. The wrong him.”
Lia is about to marry Aaron.
Miles is Aaron’s best man.
There’s no love lost between Lia and Miles
But there is history between Lia and Miles.
And I loved how it was unfolded throughout the story.
“Miles Foster can’t keep getting under my skin like this. Any more, and I’ll never be able to pry him out. Maybe it’s too late.”
Gah! Miles was gorgeous and so intense! Generally, he was a man of few words but when he had something to say, wowzers, he charmed the pants off Lia…and me! Lia made him out to be a smug jerk but, seriously, the guy was deep and he had reasons for his behaviour. Lia was a bit of a mess. She had this dream wedding all planned and in twenty-four hours, so many truths emerged that made her question everything. The connection between Miles and Lia was a palpable thing from every angle – whether it was attraction or enmity. I was rooting for them all the way! It was a smooth, sexy read and I adored it! Thoroughly recommend this story.
This author is an automatic read for me, and this novel is so original and unexpected.
The plot takes place during a disaster-filled pre-wedding day. And the couple is actually the bride and the best man, out on a trip from hell to retrieve the wedding rings. This turns out to be a rollercoaster road trip down memory lane, in stormy weather and turbulent, scorching-hot chemistry.
I loved the gruff, sturdy Miles, so strong and unflappable, so easy for him to grate on the nerves of this ordinary girl who is trying to find her place in life and be happy with the man she has convinced herself is her one and only.
All her doubts and insecurities feel relatable, while they keep mounting up to a huge mistake that I was dying for her to see and wake up to a better man, the Best Man, actually
I really enjoyed their fights and weird love dance in this cocoon of bad weather and ugly realizations bracketed in between chapters from their past.
Up until 70% of the text, I was totally engrossed in the plot. However, the characters have this explosive moment of truth and he confesses his real feelings, but his excuses for what happened in the past seem… lame, just disappointing. I felt deflated, honestly. His behaviour towards dating afterwards are not admirable either. A pity, he was great up until that point.
Despite that dose of reality, it really shows the level of commitment to actual flawed people making decisions that affect them for worse and cannot find an easy way out of them, be it for being blind to the repercussions or too involved. Dahlia and Miles make mistakes and pay for them dearly, up until a dramatic turn of events that again changes their fates.
It is actually sweet and romantic in the end, like a real-life adventure that we all hope ends up right and in love. The hot passion between them doesn’t hurt either And I would love to read a story about West, her brother. He looks like he has one waiting for him to happen.
This is shockingly my first Katy Evans book, I read it because the blurb hinted at a possible love triangle (which I love) and yes it gave me moments of that; but at the same time it didn’t. Vague I know but hey I don’t want to spoil things.
Best Man is about 3 central characters, Lia the heroine, Aaron her Fiance and Miles Aaron’s best friend. Our lead characters met at a frat party in college where, after Aaron’s drunken disappearing act, Miles and Lia hook up and the next morning Miles does a disappearing act of his own. A few months down the line Aaron and Lia are dating and 5 years later we reach the start of the book in the present. The story starts on the day of their huge wedding and intertwines with chapters from the past to give their backstory. Aaron admits he has left the rings behind and Lia decides to drive back to his apartment to retrieve them; however she gets some unexpected company in Miles.
Stuck in a car and an unexpected snow storm the enemies to lovers vibe becomes clear but the chemistry is palpable between Lia and Miles. As the novel progresses as a delicious slow burn, we start to get a real picture of the kind of relationship Aaron and Lia have and the kind of man she is about to marry. I loved Miles, he is a stand up decent guy, smoking hot, he has watched Lia for the last 5 years and has finally decided to speak up and say she deserves more.
Lia as a heroine I found her to be a little annoying, I liked her for the most part but at times she was too much of a doormat. The things she is willing to forgive and forget throughout made me want to dive into my kindle and give her a good shake! Overall I enjoyed the book, and would read more from Katy in the future. I did expect a little more angst but that din’t take away the enjoyment from the novel. I felt it was a sweet, standalone romance with a strong enemies to lovers/ friends to lovers/ second chance romance vibe.
Okay so here is what I actually feel. I love Kathy’s flawless writing however this book got me more than confused. It’s quite the love triangle you firstly can’t decide whom to like….
Lia was lacking self confidence and while she was planning her future her soon to be husband Aaron just played with her feelings.
And then there was HIM…Miles Forster, the real hero, the saviour, the other guy, who after a while got me to like him. No, that’s actually not true…. who got me to fall in love with him because of all the small gentlemanly things. Yet he was the one who always stepped back.
In the end though, everything turned right but there I wished to get more of them, more of the one and only real love.
Anyway it was great read in a true Katy Evans’ writing with enough anxiety and hotness in between.
This book was all kinds of yummy. I absolutely adored it and I thought it was very sweet!
It’s one of those complicated love stories where the heroine falls in love with the broody and sexy guy at the frat house. To have a one-night stand you just can’t forget obviously says a lot about the guy right! To makes it worse when she starts dating his best friend you would think it would be awkward between them right! Well she tends to spend more time with Miles than she does with her own boyfriend (Aaron). I thought Aaron was a douche since the beginning of the book but I had to read it in order to make my own assumptions on what I thought of Lia marrying such a manwh*re.
I loved the back and forth the present and then her flashbacks of her past that were totally on Miles and her night with him that was unforgettable. How it all started and how she could feel like he hated her after that. But as she kept on spending more and more hours with her soon-to-be husband’s best man the more she got to know him better.
This book was all kinds of deliciousness and boy oh boy those scenes in there were definitely the type that would make a girl blush — the things Miles and Lia did in one night certainly were UNFORGETTABLE!!
Katy Evans won my heart with Miles in this one and I rooted for him from beginning to end! It also had it’s funny and quirky moments. Totally a must read 🙂
To me, this is an interesting and amazing twist on a second chance romance. Lia is on the verge of marrying Aaron, frantically working to make her wedding the perfect event only to find out that the groom forgot the rings. He is too hungover to drive an hour away to retrieve the rings so off Lia goes with Miles, Aaron’s best friend and best man. Now, it’s December in Colorado and snow is in the forecast so you can imagine, what Lia is planning as an easy 9 hour trip, doesn’t go as planned. Fighting blizzard like conditions, Lia and Miles end up stranded at a rest stop and this is where the real fun begins. See, Lia and Miles had a one-night stand before Lia ever started dating Aaron. This one night was actually pretty amazing for both of them but neither ever admitted to the other. Now, trapped together, will the truth be revealed how they truly feel? I wasn’t sure about this story and whether I would like the journey but I loved how Katy Evans delivers on the true struggles we face as we navigate love and relationships. These roads aren’t easy and I’m extremely glad I got to go along for the ride with Lia and Miles on theirs. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Lia and Aaron are having a destination wedding. It’s everything she’s ever dreamed of. Aaron expects perfection from Lia. No wrinkles in her clothes, no smudged lipstick on her teeth, and no mismatched clothes. He’s amazing to her though.
So, these hours away from home and having a spa day when whoopsie Aaron realizes he forgot the wedding rings at home. Lia decides she could use a break from everything and volunteers to go home and get them. Woe is me, she’s just a girl and shouldn’t make the trip by herself, so Miles gets volunteered to go with her.
Oh, Miles. The best man in more ways than one. He’s known Aaron for years.
When past secrets are revealed and things come to light will they all get their happily ever after?
This was a fairly quick read. I am a huge fan of this author’s prior books with the humor, angst, and realism found within the pages. This book had a different vibe from the author’s prior books, but I still very much enjoyed it.
