In Best Man, Lia is getting ready to marry her boyfriend of five years, Aaron. The day before the wedding Aaron tells her he forgot the rings. She decides to head to his apartment to retrieve them. Aaron sends his best man, Miles, to go with her. Miles is a broody alpha male that doesn’t get along well with Lia. She thinks he hates her. The two of them get stranded on their way back to the hotel. Through spending so much time alone they both discover things they didn’t know from one another. I really enjoyed reading this story. I enjoyed Miles and Lia and their interactions with one another. This was a quick, well written enemies to lovers story that I think everyone will enjoy.
I absolutely love Katy Evans and have enjoyed reading many of her books throughout the years, so when Best Man hit my eReader, I was excited. I have to say I loved Miles, the best man. He was cocky and confident but was also sexy and charming. Lia a bit harder to warm up to. She thinks she is living the perfect life and marrying her soulmate, but one quick road trip may show her truths she is not ready for.
Best man was a quick story that evolves just as quickly and has Miles and Lia questioning everything. There is history between them and it is not the good kind. Though he is the groom’s best friend, there is no love lost between them. Lia was full of indecision and that was a bit annoying at the beginning. Aaron was not very likable, but Miles definitely made this story for me!

Happy reading!
When the hungover groom drops the ball, it’s up to Lia, the bride, and Miles, the best man, to pick up his slack. Along this journey, Lia begins to question everything about her and Aaron’s relationship. This book was a very interesting read that I really enjoyed. I’m excited to see what’s next from Katy.
I am not sure how Katy Evans does it but time and time again she delivers a book that you cannot help but devour.
Oh Miles…… I knew he was trouble right from the start. Who doesn’t love those silent, mysterious and sexy men. Miles was all that on top of being a genuine sincere and loving wise ass
I love how easy it was for him to get underneath Lia’s skin. He knew what buttons to push and when to push them.
Lia is completely consumed by her upcoming nuptials. So focused on what she has always wanted that I believe she can’t even see what’s right under her nose.
Miles and Lia’s relationship is based off of one night at a frat party. A night that is never spoken of but one that neither of them have forgotten.
In an attempt to make sure her big day is perfect Miles and Lia are forced to spend time together…..snowed in
Let’s just say in the chemistry between the two is enough to melt a pile of snow.

Dahlia Ripley “Lia” is a 23 yr. old engaged woman living in Boulder, Colorado. She’s planned her dream wedding, and has waited her whole life for this perfect, special day. She’s about to get married at the Midnight Lodge underneath the Rocky Mountains. Her fairytale fantasy is about to come true. Then she learns her fiancé Aaron forgot the rings. She decides she can make it home and back in time, so she’s off on a last minute road trip. Everything is manageable until she learns her groom is sending the best man Miles to travel along with her.
Miles Foster is unbelievably hot, until he opens his mouth. He has a superior attitude, and is always acting like he’s better than everyone else. The cocky, gorgeous jerk is the last person Lia wants to be stuck in a car with for hours. Ever since they shared a moment back in college he knows just how to get under her skin. They clash at every turn, but she soon realizes she may never have fully been able to get him out of her system.
Snowbound and in close quarters, secrets are revealed, and Lia realizes she may be living a lie. She thought Aaron was her soulmate, but now she’s second guessing everything. Is she just having cold feet, or is it something more. Nothing is going as planned, and she can’t quit thinking about the groom’s best friend. Which man will be her happily ever after?
Best Man by Katy Evans is a fantastic standalone enemies to lovers romance that is sexy and full of angst, chemistry and love. I really enjoyed this story, and always love Katy’s writing!
3.5 stars
Ooh. I love a enemies to lovers, close proximity/stranded romance. And, I especially love one written by Katy Evans. I could not wait to read Best Man. Katy Evans is so good at writing a story that takes place in a short period of time. It’s always so effortless and doesn’t feel like it drags on. Best Man is another testament to that.
Miles is the star of this book. I loved him. He may be a bit closed off and a little cold, yet for him, it’s within reason. The way he loves and longs…all the swoons. He deserves all the happiness.
Then there’s Lia. The reason why this is a 3.5 read instead of a solid 4 is because I’m not the biggest Lia fan. Or more specifically the choices she made in regards to her fiancé. I hate to say it but she’s a bit of a doormat. Five years of accepting terrible behavior from her fiancé, she came off as weak. It was frustrating.
Although, I will admit it took me a while to get into the story, overall, Best Man was a fast paced and enjoyable read with fun banter.
Lia and Miles are going to give you an emotional ride where secrets are revealed and feelings are finally made to be seen! Lia is preparing to marry Arron her college sweetheart. Miles is the best man and could he be “The Man ” . Miles is a quiet brooding young man that had one fabulous night together and then he left. Lia soon must face that the man she is walking down the isle too is more than not what she had dreamed of as her soulmate. Oh Lia she made me crazy . She had so many clues but the idea of a husband, wedding and perfect day clouded her view and to have Miles patiently sit back and wait for her to open her eyes to see what is truly in front of her ! A wonderful journey of discovery and realizing what you really want and need !

I absolutely loved this book! What a fantastic blend of lovers to enemies to lovers and a second chance – gah! This read was just the break I needed from the chaos of my day to day. I can always count on Katy Evans to deliver a sexy entertaining read – Best Man delivered!
Lia, Miles and Aaron are a deliciously angsty triangle of sorts. This story is so well written, full of humor, perfectly paced, easy to read yet chalked full of engaging storyline. I was consumed from the start and didn’t want to put it down. A cast full of truly great characters too. Except Aaron – he’s a douche who needed a slap.
Lia lives in this blissful bubble where everything seems perfect. Right up until her wedding day when the wild ride begins. Emotions run high. Truths and Lia’s trust start unraveling bit by bit. Big reveals made! Big! Huge!
Miles *sighs* is the most perfect specimen of man! Oh my, Katy has always written sexy swoony heroes before but Miles is in a league all his own! Even as a college kid he may have been broody but wow was he one heck of a one nighter! Like sizzling hot and super considerate which is rare. Then years pass in a blur of confusion.
The way this story unfolds is truly unique and fresh. I didn’t realize how much I needed this particular read until I finished and felt refreshed and ready to tackle my crazy week. That right there my friends is why I am such an avid reader. Always chasing that particular feeling! Thank you Katy Evans for another remarkable story! Can’t wait to get the audiobook too.
What a storyline! I loved the complexity of these characters and the amazing writing from Katy that really brought these characters and their feelings to life for me. Lia is engaged and following the life plan she has set out for so long. She’s definitely a type-A personality and makes sure everything is as planned. Starting to have doubts about her wedding and fiancé, she travels to his apartment the day before the wedding to obtain the rings he forgot. Tagging along is her fiancé’s best friend, Miles, who is trying to protect his best friend but also harbors past feelings for Lia. With just about anything that could go wrong for Lia ending up happening, all the questions and concerns Lia has comes to light and because of that, it leads Li and Miles to confront their past and the feelings they both still have for each other. I really love Katy’s books, but this one really had me enjoying the storyline in combination with the characters. Can’t wait to see what she writes next!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
3.5 Stars
I hate to say, because I’m a die hard Katy Evans fan, but Best Man wasn’t my favorite. The story was simple, the feelings real, but the heroine, Lia, just drove me bonkers. Caught in a love triangle, unbeknownst to her, she must make a decision on her Wedding Day Eve that will change her life. I get that it’s hard, she’s a young adult, but surely one would have more sense of self than she was letting on, or at least more self worth than what she deemed for herself.
Aaron, the fiancé, and Miles, the best man, are unlikely friends from college. Even as adults, I’m not sure why they’re friends. Miles sure does know how to melt some pages through!! His brooding stares and passionate speeches to Lia really sparked a fire. He was the best part of the book for me.
Overall, I couldn’t connect with Lia. Her constant wavering and uncertainty to make decisions put me off. Katy Evans usually writes characters that I love and adore. I think this is truly a one off for me and better is to come.
I went into this one a little blind. I read a lot from this author and have been following her for years. Best Man surprised me! I wasn’t sure what I expected, but I can say pleasantly surprised.
Lia is totally that crazy bride to be and dealing with a moody best man…. you can see how that can be a little explosive. What I loved most was the expected story between Miles and Lia that came out of it. I fell in love with Miles!
4 stars!! Well done Ms Evans!
Author Katy Evans delivers another mysterious book boyfriend who we love to hate but totally fall in love with.
Miles is one heck of a mystery man.
This book is told in Lia’s point of view so of course once you start reading, you won’t be able to stop until you find out why Miles is so in love with hating Lia.
Lia is a soon to be bride and this quick read is her journey on finding out whether her fairytale upcoming wedding is really all just smoke and mirrors.
I enjoyed the banter back and forth with Lia & Miles within the 24 hours of Lia getting married
Great anticipation to finding out if Lia is making the right decision about who she truly loves despite all the lies and secrets.

Told from first person perspective (Lia) using present day and memories from the past BEST MAN follows Dahlia ‘Lia’ Ridley on the eve of her wedding to Aaron Eberhart. Having forgotten the wedding bands, Lia along with best man Miles Foster, make the five hour drive home where memories from the past threaten Lia’s tentative hold on her love for Aaron Eberhart. The relationship between Miles and Lia is acrimonious and caustic. Miles is desperate to hide his attraction to Lia Ridley, believing she is making a terrible mistake marrying a man who is unable to love anyone but himself. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate and intense.
We are introduced to Lia’s fiancé Aaron Eberhart, her best friend Eva, as well as Lia’s understanding parents. Aaron Eberhart is a piece of work.
BEST MAN is a story of secrets and lies; unrequited love and attraction; revelations, honesty, love and second chances. The premise is engaging and enchanting; the characters are colorful, energetic and charismatic; the romance is seductive and fated. BEST MAN has a little bit of heartbreak and angst in the face of one woman’s desire for her own happily ever after.
Oh my Word. I absolutely loved and enjoyed this book. It is so good from start to finish. I love how the story just kept getting better and better. I especially Love me some Miles. Everyone I am not going to spoil it, because I will. So, if you have not read it yet, then go grab a copy and read it. Thank you Katy for another amazing book.
Loved this one! What a complicated love story. Had me hooked from the first page and I have to say I have a major soft spot for Miles. Plenty of emotions and chemistry in this one and I loved the style if storytelling with the countdown of time.
This book! What a wild ride! I love that the book takes place in Colorado since I’m from here too. Lia is at a mountain resort preparing to have the wedding of her dreams when the groom parties too hard two nights before the wedding and realizes he forgot the rings. Lia wanting the day to be perfect forgoes her day of pampering to drive 5 hours back to Boulder to get the rings since the groom to be is too hung over to do it. He sends his best man Miles to accompany her. What happens after they head down the mountain is explosive and enlightening and life changing. This book was hard to put down, it was so good.
Wow!! Absolutely incredible!! You have to read this book! I couldn’t put it down. This book has so much….feeling to it. You feel what the characters are going through. You connect with them and all events going down. I felt like I was right there with them. I have to say I definitely want to read more from this author. Katy Evan’s you did good!!! Amazing!
I love enemies to lovers trope so much, it’s my favorite of them all, having one of my favorite authors writing a new one, let’s just say made my day. Best Man is a perfect romance story from this trope, it has it all. Lia is about to marry Aaron, Mile’s best friend and best man at their wedding. Let’s just say it’s an amazing story where you get angst, funny moments, twisted and turns that will leave you wanting more. A must read story for sure.
This was a quick read that I really needed! I have been in a reading slump and needed something to pull me out. I loved this story of Lia and Miles and their love/hate relationship. Miles is a man who Lia hates and thinks he hates her too. He is hard to read, but is always there for her when she needs him. The story begins as the wedding of Lia to Aaron (Miles’ best friend) is about to take place. The night before the wedding, Lia and Miles get stranded at a rest stop during a snow storm. This is when things get really interesting. The chemistry between the main characters was just great!
