Chef Flora Deare; royal wedding caterer! When Flora’s childhood friend Hope asks her to design the menu for her upcoming royal wedding, Flora is quick to say yes. Hasebury Hall, the wedding venue may be dilapidated but it has all the kitchen space she needs, and she’ll happily make do even though the Hall’s owner and brooding brother-of-the-bride, Max Kennard is constantly underfoot. She’s known … known Max for years. Had a crush on him in her teens. Might have the teeniest wee soft spot for him still…
When his sister Hope announces that she’s going to marry a prince, Max is taken aback to discover that the royal wedding will not take place in the majestic principality of San Michele, but at their run-down Wiltshire family home, Hasebury Hall. Now Max has to fix up the manor, let royals and security officials have the run of the place… and find a suitable woman to accompany him to the wedding and all the other ridiculous events that surround it.
Max is single, Flora’s single. They could pair up and go together. What harm can a little pretence do if all it involves is a glamorous trip to San Michele and smiling together at the wedding itself? Apparently, a lot… Soon, it’s hard to remember what’s real and what’s not.

The Baronet’s Wedding Engagement is the second book in the Royal Wedding Invitations series. Each story is by a different author and bits of them overflow, although they can each be read as a standalone. Max suddenly finds himself needing to make improvements to his rundown home in order to please his sister who plans to marry there. He’s also expected to bring a date. Hope’s friend, Flora, is catering the wedding and agrees to be Max’s plus one. As they fake their way through the event, they find they aren’t faking everything. This was an enjoyable story to read.
A lovely romance with endearing characters with a Pride & Prejudice theme. Great escapism! I read it quickly and enjoyed every minute. Just the comfort read I wanted.
I was looking for a story about characters who didn’t know they needed each other. This is that story.
This book was an easy read! Love the characters and what they each brought to the storyline. Grumpy and fun loving worked great together!
A nice story about 2 opposites who have to work together. Both fight the sparks. Well written and enjoyable to read.
they were cute. I’d read another.
Predictable but OK! I got this free but it’s not worth the current price of $3.99! That’s too expensive, in my opinion!
I loved the characters and the plot!
I like the genre of this book, generally speaking, but I couldn’t quite get behind this book. (****slight spoiler****) The protagonist too easily falls for the brooding, cold man, after he does one slightly considerate thing for her. You don’t really see any more kindness from him, but suddenly she falls for him. Is anyone else tired of the trope of women falling for someone who seems to care nothing for her?
Great series of books. Funny but very realistic.
This was a quick read with interesting insight to the thoughts of the once well-to-do and a pastry chef.
VERY ENJOYABLE BOOK.
A nice story
Well written and a really good read!
Very enjoyable. The storyline was so real, with great characters. Which anyone could relate to.
Good storyline but some characters did not fair as well as others the way they were developed in the story.
This book was enjoyable and had humorous moments. This is great story and flowed well, didn’t have the steamy sex scenes that often dominate a book. I would recommend this book if you enjoy being entertained and want something easy to read.
It was nice to see family values and love between siblings. Life is funny sometimes, you can be around someone or someplace and never realize what they really mean to you or how they impact your life. Simple everyday gestures can be a real delight to others
Quick read
Delightful story! A heroine with a sunny disposition & a sense of humor, how couldn’t the dry Hero love her? First book by author & will read again. Loved it!
