This is the second in the Billionaires with Heart series by Liwen Y. Ho. In it, we find the continuation of the Brooks siblings’ story, this time focused on Laurene and her owning up to her feelings for Noah, the tech guy who works with her brothers.
I’m giving this one 4.5 stars. I really enjoyed it, and recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a sweet (but really short and, thus, much too fast) romance.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
So fun! In this second short story, we see more of Gabe’s billionaire sister Laurene and Gabe’s best friend and employee Noah. Laurene is a little lost since coming into so much money and aimlessly spends it in pursuit of happiness. Noah is a kind, considerate, thoughtful man who’s always liked his best friend’s younger sister, even before she inherited all that money. Even though the story is short, Laurene and Noah are fully developed characters who see each other for their true selves though they must overcome their differences. Anyone who enjoys contemporary clean romance will enjoy this story and the other two in the series.
I received a copy of the book from the author and was under no obligation to post a review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
Laurene Brooks inherited a lot of money and she doesn’t know what to do with her days anymore besides shopping. Noah Carter is a tech guy for her brother’s company. They come from different worlds and are friends, but there’s always been this hidden attraction between them. Can Noah work up the courage to tell Laurene how feels? Will Laurene figure out what she really wants to do with her life and will that involve Noah? This a was cute friends to romance. I just wish the story was longer.
Sweet and Clean Friends to Lovers Romance
This is a very short novella. It is a sweet and clean, ‘Friends to Lovers’ romance that takes place in Hawaii. To make it just that much better, it features a Porsche Spyder and shopping at Tiffany’s. While the plot and characters are not out of the ordinary, the handling of the topic is nicely done. This author always writes a good story and this does not disappoint. I received this book for free and this is my honest review.
This was a cute short story. Noah is a down-to-earth man that loves Laurene and has for a while. Laurene likes Noah, but doesn’t know how to make a relationship work. I liked the chemistry between the couple. Because the story was so short there wasn’t much development of the characters. Personally, I didn’t care for Laurene’s character and she didn’t have any redeeming qualities until the end. Those qualities were short-lived and didn’t give me enough time to start to like her character before the end of the book. I recommend this book to those that like sweet, short romance between a couple at different ends of the wealth spectrum.
