What a phenomenal new friends-to-lover clean romance from Evangeline Kelly. Sabrina is an online college professor who realizes that although she has been in a 5 year relationship, she has always been in love with her best friend. Hunter is a former police officer with the Los Angeles police department who has moved to Alaskan in order to live out his dream of owning an off the grid homestead. With Sabrina spending 2 weeks with her best friend Hunter in Alaska, they both come to realize a relationship is finally possible if they have trust in each other and faith in our Father in Heaven and His plan. Best Friends with an Alaskan Man is a captivating must read filled with danger, secret feelings, angst, friendship, laughter, insecurities, heartache, faith, passionate kisses, ad love. A fantastically written story with wonderful characters readers will fall in love with. I have loved reading this series thus far and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
“I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.”
What would you do if a blind date asked if your plans included a future long-term relationship? Would you head for the nearest exit? Or would you continue the date? This is what happens in the first chapter of Evangeline Kelly’s newest book, Best friends with an Alaskan Man, the second book in An Alaskan Romance Series. The storyline takes the main characters, Sabrina and Hunter, from going on a blind date to becoming best friends. Ms. Kelly did a great job on character development. There aren’t many books that are written so well that you heartily dislike a character. This is how I felt about Sabrina. I understand that Christians should date with marriage as the ultimate goal. But, give me a break. Did she have to be so obnoxious on the first date? As time passed, she did got the man, Brad, that she wanted. Not necessarily the man that God wanted for her. She stayed with him for 5 long years. You wonder why? So did I. That is until I figured out that she was getting her emotional needs and support met by her Best Friend, Hunter. Best Friends with an Alaskan Man was enjoyable, but it is not my favorite of Ms. Kelly’s books. However, she must have done a great job in character development to get such strong reactions to Sabrina. As with all of Ms. Kelly’s book, this is a clean faith filled book that ends in a HEA. I gave it 4 stars because there a no half stars so I couldn’t give 4 ½ stars. It’s not a bad book, but I don’t think that it deserves the 5 stars that I have given most of Ms. Kelly’s books.
Best friends take a chance. It’s obvious that her relationship with Brad has stalled but it’s realistically difficult to walk away from a 5 year relationship. Hunter is a very patient man. Sabrina & Hunter both have their doubts about how it can work out but they rely on their faith to guide them as the pressures of their insecurities flare up. Great to catch up with Callie & Derek and hope to read more on Jazmin & Clay. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author.
Best Friend’s With An Alaskan Man is an exciting and entertaining book. Evangeline Kelly has a real knack for putting a spin on her blind date stories. She keeps them clean, even has her characters to be able to remember Bible verses to help them through all their situations. It makes her books more enduring to the readers and make her stories that much more believable. A must read for your next book.
It started as a meet and greet. A question answered before finding out where she was coming from. 5 years as best friends. She and her cousin are coming to visit his off the grid living. He has just 2 weeks to convince her that they were made for each other. Very cute story.
I gave the 1st book in this series a 5 star and this one is even better. Wish I could rate this one higher than a 5 star. Such an inspiring, heartwarming story. Can’t wait to read book #3 in the series.
This was a sweet story. Sabrina has been in a relationship that she hasn’t been fully invested in. When she breaks off their relationship, she knows that she wants to visit her friend, Hunter, in Alaska. Hunter has always been there for Sabrina. Both want to share their news with each other before any other people. They have a connection that comes through in the book. Hunter and Sabrina have to take a risk that their relationship could potentially be over if they announce their feelings for each other.
This was a sweet, clean romance that had some chemistry between the couple. This is my honest and voluntary review.
The first date between Sabrina and Hunter was perfect but Hunter wasn’t ready for something more so they became best friends. When Sabrina got in a relationship with someone else he regretted his decision. After she broke up with her boyfriend she decides to visit Hunter in Alaska. So now he has two weeks to convince her. Will it work?
Interesting Christian story. Can best friends try to build a relationship without loosing their friendship.
Ms. Kelly has written another great second chance story.
The characters are somewhat complex but things change as the story goes along.
I love clean romances.
The plot of this book is engaging and you can’t put it down.
Her stories are 5-star books.
This book was so good. Hunter and Sabrina finally get their story told. I knew this would be good, but it was so good I stayed up all night to finish. If you like clean stories with heart I highly recommend “Best Friends with an Alaskan man”.
Beautiful Alaskan wilderness at it’s finest. Two friends who could be more. Come along for a fabulous ride! Wonderful characters with sizzling chemistry and a great story line. Would you take a chance on making your friendship more? Could it be better? Or will the relationship sizzle down to nothing once you try to make it more? I highly recommend this book! Happy Reading!
Sabrina and Hunter had one date 5 years ago that end in them being best friends. Fast forward 5 years …. I really don’t know why she dated Brad for 5 years. I was confused about why she did keep dating Hunter (gotta read why) but didn’t get past dating Brad after 5 years. A visit with her cousin to Alaska changes everything or does it? I loved these two together and wanted things to change from friends to romance. The angst was slightly frustrating for me but the ending was awesome!!! Can’t wait for book 3.
Best Friends with an Alaskan Man may not sound like a romance, but it’s a great one. Sabrina and Hunter are well-developed and very likable characters. They both made a mistake on their one date over five years ago, but became best friends. Now what to do with those feelings that are more than friendly? Read Evangeline Kelly’s book to find out. You won’t be disappointed. I borrowed a copy through KU.
As always Evangeline Kelly takes you on a wonderful adventure in a clean romance with a happy ending. In this adventure the main characters, Sabrina and Hunter, have been best friends for five years. Normally I give Ms. Kelly’s books five stars but this time I only gave four due to the lack of realism in how Sabrina and her friend Jazmin deal with the off the grid lifestyle. These ladies are from California yet they seem to just go with the flow.
In her last Alaskan book the author hit the nail on the head with Callie’s inability to deal with a lack of running water, showers, flushing toilets, etc. But this time there’s no real issues just acceptance. I found that difficult to believe.
Beyond that, the overall storyline is great. The conversations are interesting and keep you reading to see how things will go. What will they do and how will it happen. I enjoyed Jazmin and Clay and how their relationship played out.
The message of God’s plan is always the best plan even if it’s not how you thought your life was going to be is very evident throughout the book.
I received an advanced copy of this book but the opinions are my own.
