We weren’t destined to be together, in fact we were strictly forbidden. The moment my eyes land on my brother’s best friend, my childhood crush comes flooding back.If I was still the good little girl he remembered, I’d tell him exactly who I am.Instead, I only have one thing on my mind—showing him exactly the kind of woman I’ve become.I’ve screwed up so many times in my life, it’s starting to … many times in my life, it’s starting to feel like it’s all I know how to do.
So what’s another notch in my belt of bad decisions.
Besides, I’m not looking for forever—just the one thing I never thought I’d get.
Him, for one night.

Until I walk in to my brother’s apartment and meet his new roommate—Hudson Slade.
The look of shock doesn’t surprise me, but the regret in his eyes cuts deep.
Even more surprising, the way my heart skips when our eyes meet.
The one time in my life I make the right decision, and fall for the kind of guy I deserve, I’m still stuck with disappointment because the right choice means betraying my brother.
I’m not ready for this to end, I never will be.
This can only end in heartbreak—I know that.
Deep down, I think he does too.
He’s just not ready to admit it yet

Yay!! The youngest of the Slade brothers is back home from the military and he’s not sure what up next until he meets Danielle. Surprise, surprise… turns out she’s little Deven Olsen all grown up. Her brother is his best friends from high school. Let the the drama begin! I just loved reading the Slade Brothers series. I definitely recommend it.

Best Friend’s Sister is Hudson’t story and I will say his character took me by surprise ( oh in a good way). This story will have you needing to cool off right off the bat. Then with his loving and protective side with have your heart skipping a few beat. But they way he takes charge, don’t be shocked if panties bust into flames.
This is one of my favorite stories out of the series. Devin has her issues, but she is working on it. Hudson has returned from the military and is trying to figure out what to do. When they meet at the bar, electricity flow, when they meet again at her brother’s apartment, jaws hit the grown. This is a page turner from the first line. You will not want it to end.

My favorite type of book!! The relationship between Devon and Hudson .. Swoon
Military guy to return to civilian life and falls for new young girl in town! Great plot and enjoyed the build of between the characters. If there was a down side I would probably say Devons mom, even at the end she didn’t grown on me.

What a great storyline of falling for his best friends sister. Good characters with a fantastic chemistry, enjoyed how they also became much more than lovers but good friends as Deven was finally able to open herself up to Hudson. There are some touchy subjects in this one, that I thought were handled, but not completely dealt with. Liked the ending as both them actually got what they were seeking home and family.

I have really enjoyed reading the Slade brother books however this one kind of fell short for me. It felt a tad rushed and I’ll be honest, I had a hard time liking Deven at least in the beginning….
I loved this book from start to finish, And I carn’t wait to go back and read the whole Slade brothers series just to get to know the other characters in this book and how they all meet. But in this book I laughed out loud in some parts and wanted to slap the main characters Hudson, Deven and her brother Brad as well. I get the whole protect your baby sister thing and ask you mate to keep his hands off but for these two love birds it was to late it already happened the night before and now they fight there feelings by staying apart but as new roommates there hormones and sexual tension keeps pulling back together and so they give in, but when you start sneaking around it doesn’t end well and people get hurt.

It’s no secret that I love brother’s best friend stories, after all I am the youngest in the family and I always had crushes on my brother’s friends. I’m also a huge fan of Alexis Winter and her writing style. She always makes it easy to get caught up in the story, feeling with the characters feel and almost imagining that you are there in the moment. I loved the chemistry between Deven and Hudson and I honestly couldn’t get enough of the two of them. There are definitely some steamy moments between these two that had me grinning like a fool but there were also some super emotional moments.
I would absolutely recommend this story, especially if you are looking for a small town, forbidden romance type story

The last of the Slade brothers gets his HEA. Deven has crushed on her older brother’s friend Hudson since for such a long time and is presented the opportunity to spend one night with him. Hudson and Deven see each other again at a bar and experience raw desire for one another, leading to the beginning of their relationship. They have a of forbidden relationship because Brad (Deven’s brother) is against them two being together and brings all the drama after getting their mom involved. I absolutely loved Deven and Hudson together and rooted for their HEA throughout all the drama their relationship created. The characters were perfectly developed and had their flaws. The secondary characters were awesome and I really loved seeing the Slade brothers find their significant others in this series.

Running to Love
Family is everything to the Slade brothers. While each one has pushed boundaries in the journey to affirm his goals and dreams, each has found out that ultimately, his explorations of career, life and self, have led each brother back home to Colorado, to settle on the family land, and for some, to even step back into the family business—a brewery and more recently, a distillery. Hudson Slade, the youngest brother who enlisted in the military out of high school, has finally returned, disappointed that his military career has ended early because of injury, but honorably. So, with options for his future in mind—something that is adventurous, but serving the community—the local fire department or police department—and also helping his older brothers in the family business, Hudson has returned home to settle down and to begin the next stage of his life.
Family is also significant to Deven Danielle Olsen—or rather the dynamics of her family have certainly shaped her life. She and her brother spent their early years in a small town, living an idyllic life. She loved tagging after her older brother, Brad and his best friend, Hudson. But, her dad’s job change moved the family to not just a new setting, but to one without the small town supports. And with her dad’s death, and her brother’s move back to their home town, her world began to spin. And without her dad and her brother to act as a buffer, Deven’s relationship with her mother and school began to decline. So, when her mom threw her out of the house after a very difficult encounter with her mom’s boyfriend, Deven runs home—home to her brother and their small home town, looking for love.
Best Friend’s Sister brings to a conclusion the story of the Slade Brothers. This novel continues to weave a strong storyline with interesting characters and electrifying emotional connections. This fifth novel continues to follow the romantic developments of a family with secrets and unresolved heartache that need to be addressed to bring happiness and healing to all members of the family. Each novel can be read independently, but the Slades are so engaging that you will want to know each member and his story.

Alexis Winter Has written a 5-star book. Deven hooked up with Hudson for one night. Brad her brother told her that his buddy was going to be moving in with them. That buddy was Hudson and he is not to sure about the move in. He wants Deven but Brad has told him to stay away from her. The end up together but keep it a secret from Brad. When he finds out, he kicks them both out of the apartment. Things happen that cause Deven and Hudson to split up for a while.
Will Hudson realize that Deven is the one for him?
Will Deven forgive Hudson for the way he treated her and let him back in ?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

I’ll start this review with a TRIGGER WARNING in relation to the attempted rape scenes of which there are two. They are contextual to the story and not graphic but some may, understandably, find them a problem.
This is my first Alexis Winter book and I will be adding them to my permanent reading list for the future. The style of writing suited me, the pace of the story was good with it not being just about the two main characters; there were sub-plots going on with the support cast who have obviously been met in the previous books in the early books in the series. Even with the additional extras the story still flowed effortlessly from chapter to chapter without stalling awkwardly as some books do.
The main characters were both world damaged and the chemistry between them sizzled through the kindle easily. It was unclear as to what the age gap was as I couldn’t find his age in the text not that it matters between consenting adults. Most of the cast were family members and those they had picked up along the way through the series of books together with their children and then for this book an additional friend with his extended family who were central to the story line.
The book was well written and I found that I didn’t want to put the book down when I was interrupted!
I don’t have anything bad to say about this book and recommend that you add it to your summer reading list but you should probably read the rest of the series first, which I haven’t! xx

What a joy to visit the Slade brothers again. Hudson has been discharged from the Army and has just got home when he meets the one. Deven knows who he is when she sees Hudson but she doesn’t give him her first name so he doesn’t know who he is with till the next day. The twists, turns and surprises start his second day home when he meets his best friends sister and realizes she is the gal from the night before. He tries to not touch her but his desire overwhelms him and then he feels guilty until at last it all blows up. The story has a few more bumps until the family all comes together and they find their happy ending.
Best Friends Sister
By Alexis Winter
Main Characters: Hudson and Deven
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
4 out of 5 stars
As usual, I am a day late and a dollar short. This is Book 5 of the Slade Brothers series and the only one I have read. Hudson is the youngest and just was honorably discharged from the military. He needed a place to stay. Deven was kicked out of her mother’s house and was staying at her brother Brad’s. Brad is a friend of Hudson’s and could use someone to share the rent with him. On his first night home, Hudson has a one night stand and it was great but what could go wrong with this? You guessed it but you have to read the story to find out all the hot happenings.

Dream’s can come true
Deven and Hudson are bedeviled by the fact that she is his best friend’s younger sister (the “Bro Code”). They are unbelievably attracted to each other, but desperately opposed to any possibility of hurting her brother Brad. This wonderful book takes us through their trials and tribulations to a resolution I was cheering. Note: There is also the mayhem created from “Mo” coming to town with her dreadful second husband.
