Now an Amazon top 50 bestseller!I told a judge I was engaged to my best friend. Now we’re faking it.How hard can it be?My life has room for exactly two women: my daughter Rusty and my best friend Charlotte — known to everyone as Charlie. One is a feisty, tomboyish firecracker. The other is my seven-year-old. I can’t imagine life without either. So when my ex springs a custody hearing on me, I find … either.
So when my ex springs a custody hearing on me, I find myself telling the judge that I’m engaged to Charlie.
The only problem? I’m not.
Time to fake an engagement.
Pretending we’re a couple will be no big deal.
We’ve been friends for years. We used to sneak cigarettes behind the bleachers. We turned cans of hairspray into flamethrowers. We got drunk on stolen malt liquor.
She’s beautiful, vivacious, spontaneous, and she loves my daughter to death. It’s the perfect answer: we fake it for a few months, then go back to our lives.
Until we touch, and sparks fly. Until I can’t take my eyes off her. Until I can’t stop thinking about what she’s got on under her coveralls.
It takes one kiss.
One touch.
One shared secret and suddenly, I’m not pretending anymore. I want her, I need her in ways I didn’t know I could.
But there’s a lifetime of friendship between us, and falling in love with Charlie could mean risking everything.
Best Fake Fiance is a standalone romantic comedy that will make you laugh, cry, and probably fan yourself with your kindle.

Daniel, Charlie and Rusty are believable characters and their story pulled on my heartstrings. Best Fake Fiance is about a single dad who loves his daughter so much and is willing to do whatever it takes to protect her even telling a lie to a judge. This lie brings two friends together and changed all of their lives for the better. Great writing, fantastic characters and a heartbreakingly beautiful story. This was my first book by this author and I loved it.
Daniel and Charlie have been best friends forever. They shared one incredible kiss ages ago… but the very next day Daniel was informed that he had a one-year-old daughter he’d known nothing about whose mother had just lost custody. So he’s life became all about being a dad and raising a child. Everything else was put on the back-burner. Even Charlie. Except… she stuck around and remained an intregal part of their lives, helping to raise this child who wasn’t hers even though she wasn’t around her all the time.
It takes a fake engagement, and some real life kisses, to remind these two how they really feel about one another. And once they start to let those feelings out, there’s basically no turning back.
Of course, Charlie is pretty much a screw-up, and she doesn’t listen when Daniel tells her what he thinks is best, either for his daughter or otherwise. And he’s a little overbearing and protective. But eventually they finally figure things out between them, and they even get their day in court.
There were some areas that I thought could use a bit more attention. (For example, I really wanted to see Charlie tell Daniel the reason why she took Rusty to the floating rocks!) But overall it was a well-written, delightful and entertaining read.
It was fun to see Eli and Violet again, in the little glimpses that we got of them, as well as the rest of the family. This is definitely another great addition to the Loveless Brothers story, and I can’t wait to read about Levi, Seth and Caleb.
When Daniel accidentally (and falsely) blurts out in court that he’s engaged to his best friend, Charlotte (Charlie), he knows he’ll have some serious explaining to do to his new “fiancée” but also knows she’ll understand and go along with his idea because she’s the best best friend a guy could ask for. He just didn’t realize it would take a fake engagement to bring out the very real feelings he and Charlie have for each other.
I loved Best Fake Fiancé! It’s best friends turned lovers, fake relationship done perfectly. Daniel and Charlie already had such a wonderful friendship – opposites attract and all that. They were solidly perfect together as friends with her fun, flighty personality lifting Daniel’s more grounded personality, and his more down to earth being keeping her safely in the serious when needed. Daniel’s daughter Rusty was the glue that kept these two together and added an extra dimension of reality (and adorableness) to their relationship and the story. But let’s not forget the heat – they are SMOKIN! When these two gave into their attraction, freaking WHEW! Best Fake Fiancé is sexy, fun and sweet, the perfect friends to lovers, single dad, fake relationship romantic comedy.

WOW, this book is one fantastic and hilarious read! It is a compelling romance; a very enjoyable, emotionally deep, and interesting read. The storyline is gripping, drama-filled, witty, funny, and hooked me from page one. Loveable characters – perfect for each other! The secondary characters add heaps of substance and hilarity to this story. This is a book not to miss and I can hardly wait to read the next one. A well-deserved 5 star rating!

I was so excited to start Daniel and Charlie’s story! It was the best type of romance. One that everyone knows is going to happen, but it still takes the main characters by surprise! And not to forget Rusty and how she stole the show. It was funny, it had heat. And of course the happily ever after they so deserved.
I recieved an advanced reader copy of this book.
His ex shows up and wants custody of their daughter. He has his friend go into a fake engagement to save her. But the thing with that is they realize they are much more. I really enjoyed reading it. Fun, exciting, enjoyable, heartwarming and hot. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
Daniel has basically been a single parent to his daughter, Rusty, for years. Now Rusty’s mom wants full custody, she wants to move to Colorado with her new husband, and the baby on the way. Desperate to retain custody of his little girl Daniel tells the judge that he is engaged to be married. Lying to the judge was easy, convincing his best friend since grade school to be his fake fiance, that will be hard. Much to his surprise, Charlie will eventually agree to the plan.
Charlie and Daniel are sexy, complex characters who will eventually realize that they have loved each other for years, and want to be part of each others lives always.

I love Charlie. She’s scatter brained and most of the time has no idea what day it is. But she lives deeply and is willing to be a fake fiancé to help Daniel (her best friend) keep his daughter Rusty from his horrible babymomma. Daniel is a hothead when he gets mad and acts like an a** but after a night to cool off he admits when he’s wrong and sincerely apologizes. I love the rest of the family and the continuance of Eli’s story in Enemies With Benefits. I can’t wait for book 3! I received this as an arc and this is my honest, voluntary review.
I loved it! From start to finish, the single-father-caught-in-a-lie to keep custody of his daughter was unputdownable. Daniel and Charlie are best friends since childhood, and now she is his pretend fiancé. And suddenly, they notice each other. It was fun to experience their mutual unfolding I-like-like. It was well written, sexy, fun, swoon worthy and … well, read it yourself. And Rusty was a hoot. The bond between the child and Charlie was so sweet, but Daniel’s protectiveness was marvelous. Truly.
I have read all of Ms. Noir’s books, and I have not been disappointed with any of them. I highly recommend reading this book. It is a standalone in a series, and can be read as such, but I believe the experience will be all the better if one reads Enemies with Benefits first. It will just enhance your enjoyment.
I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
ARC review For honest review. Daniel at court with his ex Crystal for visitation when his ex gives a bigger surprise that rocking his world ,what’s he to do ,he lies to the judge that he’s engaged to his best friend Charlotte McManus . Awesome story
The book blurb pretty much lays it out. What it doesn’t say is what a great storyteller Roxie Noir is or what wonderful characters she creates. Best friends Daniel and Charlie had a moment once but they let it slip away. This is their second chance. I loved these characters with all their imperfections and that includes Daniel’s seven year old, precocious, handful of a daughter Randy. This warm and sexy romance pulled me right in and I loved it.

Book two in the Loveless Brothers series a well written story with a very good storyline. I enjoyed reading Charlie” McManus and Daniel Loveless’ story of how they will do everything to keep his daughter Rusty, when his ex wife tries to take her from him after she walked out on them both. I enjoyed reading this story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Book 2 in the story of the Loveless Brothers is the story of single father Daniel and his best friend Charlie (Charlotte). I loved Daniel. I also loved the story of his daughter Rusty as smart, curious and thoughtful. She was unexpected and lovely. I didn’t love Charlie as much as I wanted. I felt she was not as mature or responsible as the 7 year old child. The romance was pretty hot but I Charlie got a pass because she was “quirky”. Overall a can’t wait for book 3!
I loved everything about this book. I fell in love with Rusty, Charlie, and Daniel in Enemies With Benefits, and even more so in this book. You see their close friendship in that book, and it continues in this one, but when Daniel asks Charlie a favor of being his fake fiance, it goes beyond the scope of it. You can read these as standalones, but I lIke to read them in order so you get the full backstory of characters. And these sure are some characters. I am absolutely in love with Rusty. That is an amazing little girl. Amazingly precocious, incredibly smart, and wise beyond her years.
“It’s a quick, momentary kiss, over in a flash, but it makes my bones shake. It’s a lightning bolt of a kiss, over in a second but when I pull my lips away from hers, I can still feel it jolting through my veins.”
~Daniel~
The chemistry between these two is explosive, and a long time in the making. Eighteen years to be exact. Many times they ask if it’s too soon. It’s not. They’ve been waiting for this for a long time I think, they’ve just been denied the opportunity. Charlie and Daniel are such complete opposites that you wouldn’t expect them to even be friends, let alone more, but that’s why they work I think. Daniel keeps Charlie grounded, and Charlie, reminds the ever serious Daniel, it’s ok to let loose sometimes.
“I’ve always found solace in physicality and in him I find deliverance, redemption, something, more than pleasure.”
~Charlie~
I so love these two together, and Rusty is such a fun little character, and I’m so much loving this series. I think this may be my favorite book by this author so far. I can’t wait for the next. I’m thinking Levi, and I’m excited for that, but I’m really wanting Seth’s book to be honest. I love his quiet observations. Anything with this family will not disappoint. Absolute recommend.
YOWZA!! Smoking hot, yet some how still super romantic. Roxie Noir has outdone herself with this book. Best ever and my all top favourite book by her. You don’t want to miss out on this book. This is just another reason why I will never miss an Roxie Noir book. The perfect sexy and steamy read. Absolutely loved it and will be re-reading again soon. Happy reading!!
5 stars
For some reason, I love a great single dad novel (especially one with Levi Stocke on the cover)! There’s just something so special about a single guy stepping up (maybe just because I was raised by my own awesome single dad). Roxie Noir gives us major single dad yummies with Best Fake Fiance!
Daniel didn’t mean to lie to the judge, really! It just sort of came out when the judge starting looking like he agreed with all his ex could now “offer” their daughter. Did it seem to matter that she’d deserted Rusty, neglected her, etc, no, now she was married to a rich guy, so she looked like the better choice? Needing to bring something new to the table, he conjured up a fiance! Only problem was, Charlie, his best friend since forever, didn’t really know she was now engaged!
Charlie is as absent-minded as you can be, so he probably could’ve told her they were engaged and gotten away with it (ok maybe not) but she’s pretty sure she would’ve remembered that. Despite several reservations, she decides to go along with his plan since he so desperately needs her help. But pretty soon fake feelings start to remind them of the very real things they feel.
This book was so funny and heartfelt. I love sarcasm and banter, whether it’s dished out by our love interests or a bunch of awesome side characters. This book had that in spades, the daughter, the brothers, even the meddling townspeople added so much humor to this adorable story! Can’t wait to read the next brother’s book!

Love this story of long-time friends falling in love. Family, friendship and love. Best friend Charlie (Charlotte) agrees to be Daniel’s fake fiance. But what starts as a lie, starts turning to both wishing it was real. Funny and sweet story. Good story to add to your collection. No cliffhanger and an hea.
I voluntarily received this arc in exchange for an honest opinion.
5 Star Review of Best Fake Fiance (Loveless Brothers #2) by Roxie Noir
Roxie Noir is a new author to me and I have no idea why that is. Based on this book I will certainly be reading more from Ms. Noir as soon as I can. Although book 2 in the series, I had no trouble reading this as a stand alone.
A friends to lovers story full of heart, love, friendship, emotion and Rusty, the cutest little seven year old girl I have read about in a long time.
Charlotte (Charlie) and Daniel have been friends for years and when Daniel needs her help she comes through for him in a big way. Daniel is pushed into telling a judge that he has a fiancee when his ex takes him to court over custody of his daughter Rusty, he has no choice but to find one in a hurry and that is where Charlie comes in. What will happen when the feelings between fake fiances become real?
Rusty just about melted my heart, such a precious child surrounded and loved by so many. The friendship between Charlie and Daniel was heartwarming, I loved how they balanced one another with Charlie ensuring that Daniel didn’t take life too seriously all the time. These two together are a great couple and this book was full of emotions.
I love single parent stories and over the last 12 months has become one of my favourite tropes to read. Best Fake Fiance had me captivated from start to finish, it had me smiling throughout and hoping Charlie, Daniel and Rusty could get the happily ever after that they all deserved.
One click this little gem, I don’t think you will be disappointed.
Definitely my new top favorite read!!! I absolutely loved everything about Daniel and Charlie!
When Daniel is in danger of losing custody of his daughter, he does something completely out of character. He lies to the judge. Suddenly he’s engaged to his best friend Charlotte. Small town gossip being what it is, their plans to keep their fake engagement just between them goes up in flames before the afternoon is over. Now he’s juggling not only the lies, but his feelings for Charlie.
Charlie can’t lie to save her life. Everyone is going to know the truth. But interestingly enough, no one, with the exception of nosy siblings, has a clue that her engagement to Daniel isn’t the real thing. It seems everyone in Spruceville has had an eye on this couple and are thrilled that they’ve finally taken this step. When the engagement is fake but the relationship is real, Charlie finds herself doubting her abilities to be what Daniel and his daughter Rusty need.
Daniel, while being pretty straight laced and living life in the “no gray” zone as well as losing his cool at times, was completely believable. I felt like I knew him personally. There were times I wanted to hug him, times he made me blush, and times I wanted to smack him upside the head. His love, pride and care for his daughter was swoon worthy and when he messed up, he more than made up for his mistakes. He was pretty much the perfect single dad hero.
“I love this about her. I love that it’s always been the two of us, through everything, and now it’s the two of us here as close as two people can get. I love that she’s never backed down from me and I’ve never backed down from her.”
Charlie was a bit of a wild child. She rarely stopped to think before acting and it often got her into trouble. She was messy and always running late, forgetful over the simple things and often the last person to be trusted with responsibility of any real import. But her heart was tender and full of love when it came to Daniel and Rusty. Her ability to learn from her mistakes as well as to let go of hurt and anger made me love her all the more.
I loved both these characters so much! They were written in such a way that they felt real to me. Their wit and banter kept me engaged throughout the book. The steam level between them was off the charts sizzling, and again, it was all very believable. I’m a huge fan of the friends-to-lovers trope, but it doesn’t always work for me. In this case, it not only worked, it superseded my every hope and expectation!
With all the amazing sibling side characters, as well as a few townies, this was a perfect well rounded read that I found myself both laughing and later, tearing up at. Daniel’s brothers and friends added so much more to the story without every distracting me from the main characters. This is a rich, full, fun, family and friends, friends-to-lovers story that will absolutely be a reread in the future as well as a new top favorite!
Great read!!!! I loved the book. I thought it was well written and had a great storyline. There was a lot of drama and banter which made the read great!! The storyline was amazing and overall a great read!! I’d defiantly recommend this book as a must read.
