Now an Amazon top 50 bestseller!I told a judge I was engaged to my best friend. Now we’re faking it.How hard can it be?My life has room for exactly two women: my daughter Rusty and my best friend Charlotte — known to everyone as Charlie. One is a feisty, tomboyish firecracker. The other is my seven-year-old. I can’t imagine life without either. So when my ex springs a custody hearing on me, I find … either.
So when my ex springs a custody hearing on me, I find myself telling the judge that I’m engaged to Charlie.
The only problem? I’m not.
Time to fake an engagement.
Pretending we’re a couple will be no big deal.
We’ve been friends for years. We used to sneak cigarettes behind the bleachers. We turned cans of hairspray into flamethrowers. We got drunk on stolen malt liquor.
She’s beautiful, vivacious, spontaneous, and she loves my daughter to death. It’s the perfect answer: we fake it for a few months, then go back to our lives.
Until we touch, and sparks fly. Until I can’t take my eyes off her. Until I can’t stop thinking about what she’s got on under her coveralls.
It takes one kiss.
One touch.
One shared secret and suddenly, I’m not pretending anymore. I want her, I need her in ways I didn’t know I could.
But there’s a lifetime of friendship between us, and falling in love with Charlie could mean risking everything.
Best Fake Fiance is a standalone romantic comedy that will make you laugh, cry, and probably fan yourself with your kindle.

Picked it up and put it down several times
Best Fake Fiancé is the second book in the Loveless Brothers series and the first book I have read by Roxie Noir. This story combines friends to lovers, fake relationship and single daddy tropes. The characters of Charlie and Daniel at times were really enjoyable and then at others I wanted to kick some butt and box some ears because of their behavior. I found myself reading this book for a bit and then putting it down several times over the course of over a year. I think in the end it was overly long for me and I came to not really care for Daniel a whole lot and the way he treated Charlie. This disappointed me as I so wanted to enjoy this book a lot more than I did. I did think that the author can write it was just other things that did not really work for me. So in the end I will read another book or two by this author in the future to see if it was just this book that I could not connect with or the author.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
4.5 Stars
I enjoyed this book even more than the first story in the series. Daniel and Charlie balance each other off very well. Their long friendship has given them time to find out how to mesh and respect each other, even while being complete opposites.
So good! I loved the characters–the carpenter heroine, the protective, heart-on-his-sleeve single dad, and the utterly adorable arm-twisting sweetheart of a daughter. Noir built a solid plot around these characters, allowing it to inform their every action and decision.
Just finished! Such a Fun Read! Love Smart Sexy Heroes a.k.a. the Loveless Brothers & Seriously Smart Seven Your Old Girls! Lol. #HopelessRomantic #ReadingRocks #BookReview

This book was so fun, cute, and witty.
Charlie, Daniel, and Rusty were all so CHARMING. Yes Charlie was a bit of an airhead and immature at times, causing problems. I was mentally yelling at her at least twice. But it made the characters seem more real and relatable.
The side characters were nice and funny at times, but not enough for me to want to read any of their stories.
It bugged me that the romance didn’t have more of a slow burn. They were pretending and things evolved naturally fairly quickly, but that’s just personal preference.
But omg the scenes were over steamy! But a bit unrealistic. I mean, like 20 times over the course of a weekend? Come on.
Again, Rusty, was the cutest most charming thing ever. I loved them all. Feel like they could’ve been people I know, which is rare in books for me.
Daniel and Charlie have been best friends forever. I love how their comfort level with each other enhances their relationship. They become fake engaged, but the feelings quickly become very real. Their emotional and physical intimacy is beautifully written. Daniel’s daughter Rusty brings plenty of humor to the story as Daniel struggles to keep custody and raise his daughter with the help of his fantastic family. (These Loveless men are HOT!) Charlie is kind of a mess and she makes some bad choices which cause problems. Ultimately, these two complement each other perfectly and I loved their story.
I love books where everyone around a “couple” already knows that they are a couple and the story is about the “couple” finally realizing that they are perfect together. Daniel and Charlie have known each almost all their life but considered each other their “best friend”. Daniel is put on the spot during a court hearing over custody of Rusty, his seven year old who has lived with him since she was removed by Child Protection Services from the home of his “baby Momma” when she suddenly turns up married and pregnant again seeking full custody. The first person he thinks of to be his “wife to be” is Charlie so that is what he blurts out to the Judge. The remainder of the book is full of extremely funny moments including one where one of his brothers “teaches” them how to make their kisses more believable. The book shows many other comic and sexy romantic moments as their “relationship” grows but it also keeps you guessing whether they will have their HEA or will their friendship be ruined forever by Daniel’s outburst in court.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
Sexy
KU. DNF. The “foundation” was so ridiculous, I just couldn’t buy in…
Opposites Attract
Opposites Daniel and Charlie…friends since 6th grade, loved each other and it took 18 years to finally be able to tell each other that they loved each other.
Daniel being a single parent who is doing a fantastic job raising her with the help of family but is way too over protective to where his daughter Dusty can’t enjoy being a kid. Plus he has to deal with her mother in the courtroom.
A great read and looking forward to reading the next book.
I have to admit I bought this book just because of the teaser where the hero’s daughter 7 year old Dusty askes the Heroine Charlie if she is sleeping with her dad. I loved this book it hits all the feels as well as all of the steam. It’s a Best friends to lovers that is done right. I laughed, I cheered them on, I cried and I may or may not had to get out my B.O.B. :o)
This book is GOOD. As in, I had a smile on my face the whole time I was reading it, and I cannot count how many times I laughed. It’s so sweet and lighthearted, with plenty of chemistry, countless sexy times and super funny inner monologues. I’ve never read anything by this author before but I will definitely be changing that. I absolutely loved this story about two people who have been best friends for most of their lives, and it just takes one (major) lie to finally bring them together.
The story follows Daniel, a single father of an adorable 7-year-old girl. He’s had sole custody for the last six years because the mother (a former fling) is a hot mess. He attends a visitation hearing at court and his daughter’s irresponsible mother has somehow given the impression that she’s cleaned up her act, getting married with another child on the way. Daniel panics that his daughter will be taken away, and claims that he is engaged so that he appears to have a more stable home life. The only name he could think of at the time? His lifelong best friend, Charlie (Charlotte), who has been in his life for the last twenty years. Knowing he’s just lied in court – and that news of their engagement has already made its way around their small town – Daniel and Charlie are forced to act as a couple until custody is worked out. These two have always been inseparable, but adding casual touches and kisses into the mix makes them both see things in a whole new light.
The writing style makes it easy to get drawn into the story from the very beginning. I felt for Daniel – he’s a great guy and obviously a doting father, so it’s not hard to believe that he would panic and do anything he could to keep his daughter with him. Charlie and Daniel have the sort of effortless friendship that comes from years of knowing each other, and it’s obvious that they both have feelings that they’ve tried to bury beneath the surface. It was so fun to watch the transition from friends of lovers, and this is one of the best examples of that trope that I’ve read. They already had love between them, but now there is a whole lot of lust to go along with it and that makes for some pretty steamy moments. Now that I’ve been introduced to Daniel’s many siblings, I can’t wait to read their stories as well.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Roxie Noir is one of my unicorn authors. I will one-click anything she writes, because I know any book written by her will be full of steam, humor, page-turning sexual tension, and relatable, multi-dimensional characters that make you feel like you know them in real life.
Best Fake Fiance is no exception. Daniel and Charlie’s friends-to-lovers story was so achingly sweet, and gave me a serious book hangover. I just love them together, and their HEA was amazing. Plus, it was great fun to see all the Loveless brothers and their family again. Can’t wait for the next book in this series from Roxie.
Fun read
A fun read. Though I didn’t feel an intense connection between them except in the bedroom. But it was still entertaining.
Best Fake Fiance by Roxie Noir is the second book in her Loveless Brothers series. A friends to lovers and fake fiance story that starts in sheer desperation in a courtroom and ends in a beautiful happy ever after.
Charlie is a carefree woman with zero organization skills but mad carpentry skills. Her best friend Daniel is a single father to a rambunctious and intelligent seven year old girl, Rusty. When Daniel comes up with this insane scheme of being engaged to Charlie in order to show the judge at the visitation hearing that he is the best parent for Rusty to live with, now he has to keep the charade going. Not a hardship – Charlie and Daniel are the best of friends, but adding the fake romance to their public lives rustles up feelings long buried by the both of them. Can their friendship survive their romance? Enjoy!
Roxie is up to her tricks again giving us a great new book series about the Loveless Brothers. I loved Eli’s story, but now I think I love Daniel’s story even more. I’m sure I’m going to feel that way about all the other brothers. And I will mourn when we run out of brothers, but I’m sure by then Mrs. Noir will have another series to draw us in.
Where Eli’s story was an enemy to lovers story Daniel’s is a best friends to lovers story. There have never been two more suited people ever. He is the order to her chaos, the sane to her insanity while she is the sun to his darkness. And Rusty ain’t half bad either.
Go ahead and pick up this story. You won’t be sorry you did. Promise.
I love this book! The characters are fantastic. I could not put this book down. I was pulled in from the start. Their chemistry and banter kept my attention. This is a definite must have book. I can not wait for more from this author. I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading an advance copy of the book from the author.

Well I found a new author to add to my must read list. This is the second book in the series and first book I’ve read by Roxie Noir. I mean a single dad romance and friends to lovers story you have me sold. Two of my favorite troupes. I’m now going to go buy the first book. I’ve instantly fallen in love with the Loveless family. They’re a great bunch and you an feel how close they are. The humor in this book was one of my favorite parts of the book. I laughed a lot while reading. I just loved Daniel’s little girl Rusty. She stole the show during her scenes. She’s sassy and adorable. Then you have Daniel and Charlie. They’ve been best friends for most of their lives. That’s why I love a friends to lovers story all the history they have. There is an undeniable connection been building for a while. Though they’re playing pretend all too real feelings start to develop. I gobbled this book right up. This is a must read! It has heart, heat, humor, and some angst. I really can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Best Fake Fiance was a super cute read! I love a best friends turned lovers, and in this case, they were both secretly crushing on one another as well. As childhood friends, neither was willing to ruin a friendship, and life always seemed to get in the way . . .but, when Daniel freaks out in court at a custody hearing for his daughter and announces he has a fiance, Charlie agrees to play along . . . and the cuteness and hilarity ensue.
What happens when a fake engagement feels very real, and lines previously left uncrossed start to blur? I guess you’ll have to read to find out!
Honestly, I loved this book and these characters. Rusty, Daniel’s daughter is super cute. Charlie is hilarious and her sense of humor was simply amazing. And, Daniel is an amazing dad and best friend, always doing things to take care of Charlie without them both realizing how much they act like a couple without really being one, which is why no one was shocked when they announced their “engagement.” Watching the slow burn of Charlie and Daniel admit their love was more than friendship was stunning and really enjoyable!
Best Fake Fiance was a fun read for anyone who loves a single dad or a best friends to lovers romance. 4.5 stars!
As always Roxie Noir slays one of my favourite tropes: Single Dad.
She weaved magic and gave us Best Fake Fiance.
This book is about Daniel, a single father of a seven-year-old who has had custody of his daughter Rusty since she was a year old, her mother wasn’t a mother in my opinion… By the end of chapter one, I wanted to punch her in the face. After so many years away from his ex, she is taking him to court to try and get Rusty back in her custody. She seems to think she has her life on track and now is pregnant with another child. The thing is Daniel is extremely protective of his daughter and will go to any length to make sure she is safe, happy and looked after *Swoooooon*
So in a panic, he turns to his best friend of 18 years Charlie and asks if she will be his fake fiance…
These three characters were everything. Charlie was like the mom Rusty never truly had and Daniel was such an amazing father. He loved his daughter and will do anything to make sure she has the best life she possibly can. Charlie and Daniel have been best friends for years, but when they start to become close after Daniel asks her to be his fake fiance. Sparks start to fly, feelings they never knew they had started to surface and the chemistry between the two only heightens. It was electric and so addictive. I loved it!
Will Charlie agree? And if she does, will this end good or will it crumble to pieces?
This book had it all. It had heat, passion, lust, friends-to-lovers, and humor, there were moments where I couldn’t stop laughing, and then there were moments where I wanted to slap each character apart from the daughter of course!
All in all, this was an enjoyable read. I was addicted from the start and as the plot progressed the more I cheered these two on. As always, Roxie went and gave me an epic story that I’ll enjoy re-reading again very soon!
