Fun read especially for those who like romance with their fairytales and fairy stories.
Bessie Bell may not be among the educated population, but she is no one’s fool. She has enough kindness, intelligence, and spunk to place her among the best of women. When Mr. Green is fortunate enough to rescue Miss Bell on a dark and lonely road, he gains a loyal advocate and worthy friend.
I enjoyed this take of a fairy tale and magic. It is a different genre than I have read before and liked it.
There is mystery and twists to the plot.
Bess is a spunky character who is fun to watch and Mr Green is a mixture of moods and mystery.
I look forward to reading more of this series.
What a delightful and odd story! I loved the characters and the progression of the problems. This is a must-read for lovers of fairy tales. I recommend this book!
Just plain fun! The perfect book to read for a temporary get-away into your imagination.
Bessie Bell is different from just about all other magic story heroines. She’s smart, sassy and capable of taking care of herself. But it doesn’t hurt to have a Goblin King for a partner. Read this. You will laugh. A lot.
I loved the story and how when I thought I had things figured out, they changed. I also loved the fact that it was a clean book, meaning no bad language and no sexual encounters. Thank you.
I loved this book and all it’s characters. It’s funny and charming with a new approach. There’s magic!
A maidservant embarks on a madcap adventure. Fun and enchanting.
Must read
An unusual fairy tale. With a most practical and non magic heroin who insists on being practical and not starry eyed, Enjoyed it.
Already reviewed it.
Loved this book. It was a fun read. Where fantasy meets reality.
Add to the descriptions “quirky” , and you have better defined the down-to-earth character of Bessie, a servant who gets turned out because she won’t succumb to the son of the House’s demands. The story is complex enough to keep your attention, and for once, does NOT end by having the heroine falling into bed with the other primary character, the Goblin King.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this book, I downloaded it because the description placed the book in Lincolnshire, England and my grandmother was from there.
I found myself sucked in immediately. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, the story, and the writing. This was a wonderful escape from the world.
Bought this book on a whim, not really expecting to really like it as much as I ended up liking it. It was a delightful read with a lot of whimsically wonderful characters. The twists and turns the story takes is fabulous and poor Bessie Bell really has a rough go of things. If you like imaginative stories…you will enjoy this. Not a dull moment. So worth the ride.
Very interesting characters.
I appreciated the strong female character. She stood up to the stronger male protagonist. A very good read.
Wow, what a world. Interesting characters
