If you want a fast paced, hard hitting, all consuming, action packed, smooth flowing read, congratulations my friends you have found it. What an unbelievable connection. I was totally blown away. I freaking loved this read. They are all great, but this one struck a cord. I followed the characters along and was fascinated watching their personalities transform and blend. The scenes so vividly described you can picture it clear as day. The chemistry, excitement and danger at every turn kept me captivated from the start.
Maybe there are some good guys out there after all.
BENJI is the second book in the WildStyle Brewers series about the three Wilder brothers. Benjamin, Benji, Wilder is the middle of the three brothers. He is the was a successful bankruptcy lawyer for several years before he quit to open the WildStyle Brewery with his brothers. As the middle child he has always been the one to take care of everyone and everything which he has continued to do with the brewery. He deals with the finances and has been topping up the deposits with his own savings without telling his brothers about it. But this next specialty brew, which he has be come up with the idea for, has to be a hit in order for the brewery to continue.
Violet Preston is a lawyer who has recently moved to Kildare, Nevada after leaving the Marines JAG office where she was for sixteen years. She moved across the country in order to have a relationship with her twelve year old son Ryder. Several years ago just as she was about to deploy overseas for a year he asshat of a husband picked up Ryder from his daycare and drove him to Nevada where he had a new life waiting for him complete with job and house. She was left speechless and served with divorce papers the next day. As happens she tried to fight it but being overseas it just disintegrated and he became the primary parent while she was relegated to phone calls and sporadic visits. But she is more committed to Ryder, so much so that she is putting up with all the crap her ex is throwing at her to make her feel bad about herself and more.
Benji is on his way to make a deposit before heading home one afternoon from the brewery when he literally runs into Violet. She has blown through a four-way stop in a rush to pick up Ryder from his school. There is not much damage but he car has an issue with a bent wheel so it is not drive-able. Lucky for her Benji tells he to take his Jeep and he will get her car towed to Hemi’s garage to be fixed. After another confrontation with her ex at the school Violet does not leave with Ryder and heads to the brewery to drop off the Jeep. Instead he takes her make the deposit, just making it before they close, and then invites her out for a drink. But instead of going out Violet invites him to her place as she has a stocked bar. It seems Benji is not only looking forward to what Violet has in her bar but also her. Benji makes them a stirfry for dinner and then they have each other for dessert. Violet just wants to get lost for a night and feel better. Benji recognizes that she is a woman who is drowning and wants to help bring her back to the surface. He also feels that she is the one for him and is having some thoughts about how he can make that happen. That night they have dessert three times before falling asleep. But of course her ex makes another appearance which puts Violet back into a tizzy and being overwhelmed. All it takes are a few words from Benji to make her start to take her power back and become the tough lawyer again in dealing with her husband. After all they do have a custody agreement which he has not been abiding by and she is about to make it adhere to.
The epilogue has you biting your nails just hoping that these two find a long term HEA, not giving it away so you will have to read the book.
I really loved this second book in the series as it is a fast-paced, OTT, insta-lust/love, interesting story with wonderful characters, including Ryder. Both Benji and Violet quickly wake each other up and realize what they have each been missing in their lives.
What started off with an accident, went on and ended in an absolutely wonderful story. Both Benji and Violet go through so much. Such strong characters, wonderful plot, and inspiration.
