My first love. The one I fell for so quickly. The one who stole my heart and made me believe we had it all. We did. Till that fateful day when everything changed.
“Through you I’ve lived the most fulfilling life I could have ever possibly imagined. Like a ray of sunshine, you are my light… Rae. That’s why that nickname was so perfect, Braelynn, my pretty girl. You are my ray of light, my world… my life.” – Bella Emy, Beneath a Starlit Sky
Her tagline is: Breaking hearts one story at a time
Well folks, it’s both literally and figuratively true! This wonderful story is about true love, loss and the importance of remembering the simple things life has to offer.
Braelynn tells us the story of her summer of firsts. She’s eighteen and on her usual family trip to Waverly beach, but this trip is going to be very different this time and in so many ways.
She, in usual fashion, unpacks before meeting up with her girl, Misty, and the sweet neighbor she always enjoys visiting, Mrs. Neverly, before finding herself face to face with the man of her literal dreams. Zachery Taylor sounds like a dream come true; dark hair, blue eyes, and of course, perfect in every way possible.
Rae and Zach enjoy their summer together, learning about each other and life, and discovering an incredible love in all its wonder, all the while, he’s keeping a devastating truth from her that’s going to rip her heart out when it comes to light.
Their relationship was so lovable and beautiful and innocent. Misty and Mrs. Neverly were endearing as well as Brae’s family.
This book was heartfelt, funny, sweet, sad and inspiring. So, if you love a good story with heart, give this one a go.

A well written story that I am going to say keep the Kleenex near by. Braelynn and Zack’s story was one I was not putting down until I had finished. I liked the surprise when Rae came back years later to Waverly Beach and found something special had happened there. I recommend this book.

Quick emotional read. Brae is spending her final summer before college with her family at their beach house in Waverly. She would rather be with her friends traveling in Europe. But she meets a handsome guy on the beach and suddenly things are looking up. Zac makes the summer bearable. But he has a secret. A sad, heartbreaking secret that left me with a broken heart. A tale of love and tears.

The most beautiful, bittersweet and heartbreaking love story
I should have known better after the warning in the blurb not to touch this one but I’m such a sucker for a good heart-wrenching stories. I cried, I bawled my eyes out and I’m still sniffling writing this review. My heart is swelling with all emotions I got from Rae and Zach. Their connection so instant, their love so pure, sweet and true. The one event that changed everything… I don’t know if I can write more without giving anything away. This story was “enthrallingly gorgeous”, broke my heart, filled my eyes with tears and reminded me that we need to take our life one day at a time and enjoy every single moment of it.

What a great story! Heads up, you will need some tissues towards the ending but still worth reading each and every word. This was a fantastic, yet heartbreaking story on how all is not as it seems. Rae has just graduated high school but instead of backpacking in Europe with friends she is off to the beach cabin with her parents and younger sister. She agreed that this would be last summer vacation she was going to spend up here then off to college to become something or someone. She meets Zach who is a little vague about himself but she feels so drawn and comfortable with him that they become a summer romance. What an amazing summer Rae and Zach have getting to know one another and just experiencing the summer together. The summer of course begins to wind down as the end of August nears and some truths begin to emerge about Zach. This is a great read, even through the tearful ending.

The beauty of this story took my breath away. At first I thought it was just a sweet and fun summer romance story. Then it took a turn that I didn’t see coming. Pretty soon there were tears in my eyes and I felt my heart being gripped. This is a must experience story. Rae and Zach were epic. Their love was something of beauty and we can all be so lucky to have a love like theirs in our lives. This is also a story about surviving that deep love. Life throws curve balls that don’t always seem fair. But what is important is the experiences and how we change each others lives for the better. I can’t suggest this book enough. You will cry. But you will also feel every word of this story. And I guarantee you will want to read more from this amazing author.

This is a sweet story about pure first love. This is a short read but it’s a heavy emotional read so I advise readers to have a box of tissues close by. The characters are so sweet and lovely, but things are not always what they seem to be and it’s a hard-emotional reality to learn. This is a story that pulled me in and made me shed more than a few tears.
